I think City of Heroes and Villians is definately worth mentioning.
Plus there is an mmorpg.com free trial available at the moment. It is not really science fiction, but it is set in a world that is relatively futuristic. The Combat animations are really good, which I have also noticed most Sci Fi games lack. I have played Anarchy Online alot as well to satisfy my Sci Fi mmorpg craving, but there is no doubting it, that game is very outdated. I am kind of afraid to play Starwars Galaxies again, its a pay to play at the same price as World of Warcraft and Everquest 2, but it looks to me to be on the same quality level as Anarchy = \. To be honest, I think a World of Starcraft would save all of us from this boredom. Nobody can doubt that Blizzard makes a good mmorpg. I can just imagine the amazing pvp system they could develope between the protoss, zerg, and terran. And actually being able to roll a Zerg would be tons of fun. Although if they did this, Blizzard would pretty much monopolize the mmorpg market. |
