Kings Isle Entertainment has a great community.

Wizards (WIzard 101) or Pirates (Pirate 101) all tend to be quite helpful, both in game, and on their various forum/fansites.

They argue, they debate, but when it comes down to it, they stick together...

I had to laugh at a user that said Worst: any kid friendly game  Best: any not kid friendly game

50 years old, been playing online computer games for over 20 years (before the internet). Adults create the worst communities overall, they are all set in their ways, and seldom get along.  They let politics, religiion, and other influences twist their minds.  I left the bigger known MMOs for a kid friendly mmo BECAUSE of whiney, stubborn, idiotic adult gamers who dont have a clue.

Pirate101 went live on 10/8/12.

Gotta love how certain game fans cant handle that a very close knit, friendly, gaming community with many followers beating thier game.

What I saw in this poll, was the Pirate101 community seeing they were close, and rallying their community through 3rd party fansites (players, not KingsIsle employees) to rise to the occasion and vote?  No cheats, just community comradery.

Keep in mind whats "Best" is ENTIRELY subjective, whats best for one person is not always whats best for another.

Hardcore gamers/mmo players are not the center of the MMO universe, time they realized that.

Its hilarious to read many of these comments.  Especially those from the close minded individuals that think their tastes in gaming is the norm.  My message to them.. get over it, your tunnel vision is doing you a serious disservice. I quit playing those other MMOs to play Wizard101 and Pirate101.  I got tired of the mentality of those communities, and those games.  I left the MMOs geared for smaller target audiences, for one that targets family.  Appears to me that MMOs targeting smaller audiences are going to have problems beating games in these "popularity" votes (come on, you know its that) with such a broad appeal (such as Pirate101).

And frankly, I dont care if they call a pretzel a quetzal, its a fantasy story MMO, not an encycopedia.  Nowhere do they claim to be "educational".  Learn to use your imagination. Thats what fantasy is all about, breaking down the boundaries of reality.

It seems that many think that KingsIsle offered some incentive to vote for thier Pirate101 game.  Those making this claim did NOT do their homework and are spewing misinformation.

KingsIsle posted a notice they were nominated with an encouragement for thier fans to vote.  Fans were offered NOTHING in return.

It was the Pirate101 community bolstering votes on thier 3rd party fansites that got the community to represent.

GW2 fans it would seem do not have the same close knit community, or simply dont have as many followers.  Either way...  that speaks volumes.
