are you guys complaining that you care able to do quests without a crowd.

each area has multiple instances to hold 100 players. that way your not getting 20 people questing in the same spot.

This would be fine if this game was released in 2001. Its about time for MMO developers to create a solution to this, instead of working around it by "instancing."

Take Guild Wars 2 for example. If your doing a quest to kill x of x and another or however many other players come rolling up on what your killing, you automatically are "grouped," share loot based on participation, and the enemies "level up" to maintain the same level of diffuculty as if you were soloing.

Guild Wars 2 will still use instancing, but only for Storyline, Dungeons and Missions, not questing and exploring.

All of you are looking at the problem that has plagued MMO's for a long time. Try to think of a solution to the problem, as ArenaNet has done.

Wait... so you think GW2 is being original?

I'll more than likely buy the game, mind you, but giving all that credit is insane.

Storyline and missions fall under questing, by the way.

Early Game Access* will begin on December 13th at 7:00AM EST, 2011 and ends on December 19th, 2011 at 10:01PM EST. During this time, we will be emailing invitations to join Early Game Access based on the order in which you redeemed your Pre-Order Code. Pre-load the game client now, so you're ready to play when your Early Game Access invitation arrives. Note that download time can vary and may take awhile.

Just got this in an email 10 minutes ago.

And people laughed when I said two million at launch a week ago, looks like my estimate is right on track. Nearly 1,000,000 physical preorders, and more than likely another million in digital preorders.

I wonder how many of the hecklers will come back and admit they were wrong after the game launches?

That's 1 million physical pre-orders in the US alone. And the US is not the most populated place on the planet by a long shot :P

Sure, western MMO's aren't the biggest thing in the east. But still.

It is to build up expectations and make more people pre-order. Now what we know that the game is a mix of Mass Effect and WoW with nothing truly innovative the expectations will probably go down.

Um, it was known that the game had these attributes long before the NDA lift.

Haha yeah. If you didn't know that before the NDA lift then I don't know what to tell you.

That is was a mix of Mass Effect and WoW was given, but I did not know that there would not be anything truly innovative and just copy-paste from other games. I know Blizzard had this reputation but not Bioware.

Seriously? How have you NOT heard about the Knight of the Old Republic franchise yet?

Mass Effect and WoW... by the gods. KotOR and WoW, sure... even though... you know, KotOR is an RPG based in space and all.

Yes,

It quite literally made me throw up a little.

I loved this game up to lvl 30, then the item shop became needed and just out of control imo.

Same here, me and 3 of my friends were all leveling together up until a point where they changed the game so that you absolutely needed to buy from the cash-shop.

We all talked about how much love had obviously been put into the game and all of it's lore. I've even tried to play after that change and it's supposed correction. But it's not the same.

I've already downloaded it, just waiting for this reactivation thing to tick on my account.

Enjoyed every single sentence, thank you.

There's really not that much information out about the game, so we have no right to assume that werewolves will or will not be in the game upon release.

It might even end up not seeing the light of day at all.

There will be no addons now or in the future for Rift.

Well, that's a lie. They just won't be allowed until they have a working/stable API for them.

I'm not sure why people always have to be so obsessed with the decline of wow or with number of subscriptions in general. To me it's much more interesting to see what new games come out and if they are any fun .

If you are done with wow, just move on.

Couldn't agree more.

Allods could have been the perfect example why people should at least review the F2P games. But then gpotato trashed it and made it the perfect example of why people should avoid the F2P games.

There are decent enough F2P games out there, I think. Vindictus, at least.

I voted in-between. Because it totally depends on how immersive the game lets me be in regards to my character.

As mentioned, City of Heroes/Villains just takes the cake on that one. After all this time, you would have thought some company at least tried to do in the same manner. Or better.  But no.

To be fair, DCUO came close with the forever unlocked after discovery thing. And letting you lock in the pieces you wanted to keep as a visual style. But I still miss the macro-switching in CoX.

And why hasn't any other kind of MMO tried something as immersive for the vain among us. Sure sure, some allow you to color your armor, Aion lets you alter the look of a certain piece by process of merging. Why not just open it a little more, or just put in a vanity set.. like some do(but don't let you change the color).

I know I probably don't know the inner workings of all MMO's out there, so some may have the options. But do they then have the playability?

I loved this game before the big pay to win change.

It even managed to give me hope for a while, something to help get rid of WoW at the time.

This right here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Z7PoVMNyfI

Tassadar's sacrifice in the original Starcraft. 13 years ago, but I can still remember the goosebumps and the tear I shed. Of course, a 2 minute clip will never get you emotionally connected to the character.

Invasions were awesome for the first few days, then they became a little tedious. After 2 weeks of playing I gave up and logged out every time one started.

And now I just can't even find the will to log in at all.

Probably not play him, but I'd love it he could be the device power mentor.

Would love a key if anyone has one, thank you.

The only thing that I think of when I see hardcore used as a gaming term, is Diablo II.

Hardcore characters died for good, no resurrection. You'd only ever get your gear back IF you had a good friend in there with you. Now, I realize it's not an MMO. But that doesn't change the fact that Diablo II just did it right in my eyes.  Big risk with big rewards(pride mostly).
