crackpots always predict the end of the world is coming too... but so far were still all breathing.

the bot system is most controversial feature of this game. when i first heard of it, i thought that the game would be a virtual ghost town with zombies leveling, but i was quite surprised to see that the community is very active even with the bot. and did i say that the bot system is very addictive? it beats the heck out of clicking each and every monster manually. also i like the bot coz it can make me chat while my character is doing all the hacking and slashing. so basically, when you see me bot, im not afk but just there sitting, relaxing, chatting.

and you would be surprised that even with the bot, there are none (or almost none) gold sellers in the game.

hello kitty online?

hows the community in eternal lands? ive been intrigued by that game for a long time now. just havent got the time to try it out.

the only thing that can beat wow is if blizzard decides to make another wow server and make it an F2P server

i believe theres a list somewhere in this forums

but try

luminary / goonzu

magic world

red stone

perfect world

metin2 (if your pc is on the older side)

hmm magic world online?

- its in english

- its 2gig DL tho

- cant say if you can access it in china, try their forums

- has a little lag

- needs a little time to get used to

- it has a built in "legal" bot system. so you can bot 24/7 without even touching your mouse, your avatar grinds automatically for you

- its F2P

- has pvp but you can opt to turn it off

how about posting some screenshots here?

i only read the title so i will only give my answer to it. perfect world online. as long as you have some talent in customizing your character, you can make it look like whoever you want it to look like.

oops sorry that we have conflicting ideas, definition of the word vaporware. for me vaporware comes from the root word vapor which is an outcome of evaporation. which things evaporate? water evaporates, but it does not mean that water is not there in the 1st place, the water must be physically present first before it can evaporate. am i right? so mabinogi must first be present before it can dissapear.

but who cares? i dont care... even if you first coined the word "vaporware" and you have a patent to the meaning of it. i have totally some right to put my own definition of the word. hey even the bible got different versions and definitions... so if i were you, i would just accept and respect other peoples opinion and stop trolling the forums... thank you very much. (next thing you know, you might give your own definition of the word "trolling" ) so i better call mr. webster right now LOL

let me hear you say "yeah!"

this game got topnotch gameplay... think of it as runescape but with 3D cell-shaded graphics BUT if you are looking for a really free-to-play game then this game is not for you. you WILL NOT, i repeat, WILL NOT advance in this game if you don't spend on their item mall. talk about irony, a free game where you have to pay.

another irony is, nexon (the company that released mabinogi) is also responsible for maplestory (one of the most successful F2P mmo's) yes maplestory also have the item mall BUT the stuff sold are primarily only for aesthetic purposes, you can advance in maplestory even without spending a single cent, and look at how successful it is, reaping in the $$$ for nexon.

now as ive said, mabinogi gameplay is tops, but at its current  "spend or you're doomed" state, soon only a couple of the hardcore players will be left playing this game, and what fun is there when you can only see a few guys running in the server. gameplay is a major factor, but a game also needs community to survive.

just my thoughts, i love this game and i hate it going vaporware just because the community died.

looking for an mmorpg that will run on the following pc specs:

intel celeron 2.0ghz

256mb ram

nvidia fx5200 128mb video card

windows xp

preferably F2P

thanks

Hmm, perhaps RuneScape..and Mabinogi has some skills as well.

In Mabinogi, you "must" fight.

i kinda agree, but you can also do some of the skills without fighting to get the needed materials. like for example in tailoring, just gather the cobwebs and sheer sheep to get wool and process them to make the fabrics and thread to make the clothes. although you can only make limited items because some of the clothes need leather (which can be found only by hunting) you can always buy the needed mats from other players.  i have managed to get to tailoring skill rank B without fighting a single monster.

yep mabinogi if you prefer 3d, aside from hunting you can tailor, cook, make medicines, make armors, make weapons, do fishing, cut wood, make a campfire, play music, compose music, make fabrics, forge metals, mine for minerals, collect wool from sheep, collect milk from cows, collect apples from trees, harvest potatoes, wheat and barley  etc etc etc. the only downside is its free to play BUT you have to shell out some cash if you really want your character to develop (but so far im still enjoying the game even if i havent put some money into the game yet)

and btw the game is for north american residents only. you have to find ways to get into the game if you are not from north america (like me)

if you prefer 2d, best i can come up with is goonzu online/luminary online, hunt, cook, fish, make armors, make weapons, make shoes, make belts, make medicines, mine minerals, do farming etc.

wonderland online also seems to offer the same gameplay, but i havent played it long enough to be able to try its features fully. (honestly the game confuses me, but thats my problem i think)

no difference between the two, they both have the same versions

luminary is sso while you can multi-client in goonzu (its legal)

the real RO clone is called Secret of the Solstice (S.O.S) being run by outspark.com

test test test

umm... eternal lands?

same game... but why?

its like getting 2 cans of pepsi and writing the words "coke" on the 2nd can...
