20 salvaged fasteners.... go to sleep.... wake up to over 4k xp. Granted I do have a PVE character running missions with him there is alot of potential for crafter xp. I heard dune buggies give an entire level!? Can someone clarify? |

Yes that's true, there are a few missions that give out reward items which spawn out pets. They usually don't have many charges and aren't too useful atm so as it stands it's more of a gimmick. Who knows what will come in the future though. |

I dunno... has it been long enough that the WoW crowd can consider themselves veteran MMO gamers? I really don't know what the minimum standard here is. |

I got my characters created on both my accounts! Just can't get in-game now. (yes two accounts in unnecessary but after so long with SWG and EVE I feel naked with only one 0_0 ) |

Same story, on par with most other MMO launches so not peeved :P... Especially since this is essentially extra free play time we get here. I'm sitting at the customization screen hitting confirm every once in awhile, I got my guy just how I want him! |

Which gives you a good hint that no one can get in yet, otherwise who would be on the forums? |

Can't create a character... lol. But still really excited that the server is up. |

Frankly I thought $50 was alot upfront as well, but it's hard to hate them for it because this is an indy company and they have been working on it since like 2003... I'm sure they really need the income. |

I have the same sorta issues also, just for perspective I have pre-orders from both the FE website and D2D so I'm definitely playing it no matter what. Theres a pretty long thread about economy issues going on in the official forum, seems to be a pretty popular notion that items should have a breaking point much like SWG and thus provide a continous market for new weapons and armor. With the ease of acquiring these items it shouldn't be game breaking, but in fact be the other way around. Creating a more lucrative economy especially for the determined crafters. I was L20 at the end of OB but didn't bother to go to S2(saving it for release), and I had more money than I could ever figure out how to spend. As for player-made items, I'm sure you've seen the "Improved Knives 1" or similar recipes, but with the recipe requirements both skill and item wise it's going to take a higher level crafter to make advanced weapons for the lower level combatants. So you'll really never be making your own improved items unless you're really really gimp on your combat skill, or you trade with the higher level guys for the proper materials. IMO I think its a good thing, makes the improved item availability more of a community effort than individual. |

My e-mail to Fallen Earth after buying it. (and a follow up advisement)

My eyes burn from reading all of this :P. Least it entertained me though. OP, you even have the naysayers telling you that you're the one in the wrong here, is it so hard to take a deep breath and admit that maybe you just went a little overboard with all this and you should've thought things through a bit better? Admitting ones fault seems to be a rare skill, but if you can develop it you'll be a better person because of it. Isn't it a little illogical to think you're supperior to 90% of everyone else and they're the ones who don't get it? |

So kinda makes sense that the graphics look 2004ish, were you not able to play games in 2004 because graphics weren't cool enough yet? :P As far as fear of Fallen Earth closing it's servers.... This is an indy company on par with CCP and EVE. When EVE first came out it didn't have anything near the potential audience as MMOs have now. It's only going to take a tiny chunk of a dedicated playerbase to keep Fallen Earth aloft and improving. Being successful doesn't mean you have to have all of china's gold farmers at your doorstep, just that you do good enough with what you have to turn a profit, and maybe even expand. I'll pull speculation out of my ass and dare to say, with the news of Fallen Earth placing high on D2D sells, I doubt Icarus is going to have any problems with maintaining good standings for some time to come. I must say I'm a bit biased, because I want Fallen Earth and Icarus to get every chance they deserve. |

You know alot of us come from the UO/EQ era, we just didn't bother with MMORPG websites since we didn't really have as broad of a selection in the market as we do now :). PS: Now I never actually played past the basic EQ/UO trials back then lol, since I wasn't old enough to have my own credit card :P. |

Beta Review - I thought this game was going to suck -

Well honestly there are alot of SWG refugees out there who've finally found a Sandbox game to fit their style out of FE, and those same people really wouldn't bother with WoW with flying(Aion) and another superhero MMO(Champions). It's not as if FE is competiing against something utterly awe inspiring. FE manages to appeal to a niche market that's been left in the dust for a very long time, and with that they may very well succeed indy or not. |

I have the same attitude. Traditionally alot of the best gameplay features in MMOs didn't make it in until post-release. Examples that come to mind are SWG mounts/player cities and WoW battlegrounds. Got some pretty good devs in FE, so I think we can expect some pretty good things. |

Lol :D/ Kinda like how an 8 year old would think a 25 year old is "REALLY OLD". It's a perspective thing :P. Either that or exageration. |
