Anyone else had problems completing the registration process?
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 3/02/09 11:05:36 AM
Hello
I just bought this game and now Im trying to create an account on the Euro parts of the warhammer site. Everything works fine and dandy until I'm supposed to pick a nickname for the forums or website. The tooltip bubble doesnt work and no matter what nick I try to choose the registration form tells me that the format of my nickname is invalid.
Anyone know anything about this? What format of nickname should be ok? |

Pirates of the Burning Sea: Defiant's Growing Pains
News Discussion « General Discussion 2/24/09 9:37:32 AM
I recently transfered 3x lvl 50 chars with high end ships and a couple of alts to Defiant to make room for another nation on another server. The little I have played on Defiant since then people seem friendly enough and even though there isnt a lot of action going on there seem to be some of it, enough to keep you busy if you just take the time and effort to head there. To me it seems a small, low population server but far from a dead or very unpleasant one. |

I had high hopes on this game but encountered quite a few disappointments when starting to play it at release.
The reduction of the death penalty by 80% through the introduction of the insurance system being one of the major ones.
Grinding giving more income than using the admittedly very refined production/crafting system. Then why do it?
Constant changes were annoying. Not as much as "having to learn the game anew" as having strategic choices you made being changed retrospectively.
I sitll think it may be the best option for people that want a more mature player base and a more challening game than wow and its clones. |

Well we all have different taste. Personally I long for slower, more strategic playing with tactical choices where skill (hopefully) is more important than uber-gear and grind time. Skill based avatar combat and skill based ship combat, what more can you ask for? Also the graphics look excellent if you ask me. Participating in a PvP 25 ship harbour competition battle with previous guild strategy talks sound like a wet dream for me. I have read a lot about Napoleonic (a bit later I know but still very similar) Naval warfare and this seems to go a long bit towards simulating this. Add player controlled economy to this and It's by far the most promising game out there. If I could pay extra to keep any bunnyhoping, leet, kids that write "lol" etc out of the game everything would be perfect. I expect most of the unpleasant elements of other games will not enjoy this game and I so look forward to not playing with them.
Eagerly looking forward to open beta/release! |

Attention all those who ordered Roma Victor and don't play anymore.

Originally posted by Zakke87 I love this! This is the way you should play a game! Each wolf you track, hunt down and slay should be an achievement. Not the formulaic grind quests of WoW/Lotro etc (which I played myself ) "Kill 10 wolves over there in 6 minutes to get X xp".
I hope this game evolves and improves and I will be back for sure! |

I bought a lifetime account during beta-development to support this small, independent game since I immensely enjoy the idea of a skill based, class-less, realistic historical MMO. I do agree with that graphics, lag, game content leave something to long for improvement. I'm ready to give the developers a few years to get their game to a level where I am sure it will be very nice and fill a niche where today there exist no other similar game. (Or if there is let me know.) Keep going RV! |
