Unlike many MMORPGs it's nice to see that CCP tends to be proactive as opposed to reactive to customer growth. While most games have lag in areas CCP is to be commended for seemingly always at least attempting to stay ahead of the curve.

I too have to go with the non-listed 4th choice, decay on all items including looted ones. Otherwise what's the point.

Welcome from an old vet from the Intrepid galaxy (SWG).
 The controls and skill boxes are similar enough to SWG to be familiar but just different enough to be rather annoying at first. Just stick with it and in a few days they'll feel just as intuitive as you old SWG ones. A few minutes with the keymapping tool and you can pretty much set up all your keys the same as you had them. |

As for Lucus approving it, well everytime they make a pez dispenser with Vaders head on it Lucus has to approve it. Relax, It's called business.  |

I started SWG on the second day it was live since like nearly everyone else getting on the "first" day wasn't possible. I played up until the CU plopped to the ground and started stinking up the place. I tried the NGE when it first came out in hopes that it would correct the mess of the CU, of course it only took a few hours to know that I could have had more fun flushing my money down the comode then playing that.
I'm on my second week playing "Saga Of Ryzom" and so far I'm having a good time. It has a developed starter islond to help you learn how to play and you will be happy to have that chance because the learning curve isn't for the "wow working brain". It is a complex and interesting game with a mostly mature community which thankfully is not frequented by tons of "1337 boyz". Between "Eve Online" and "Saga Of Ryzom" I'm happy and content to leave SOE and its problems behind. Others can fight for Restuss, non existing future upgrades and whatever else the devs think up while drinking their bong water. I'm going to spend my money on "completed" games. |

I'm eagerly waiting for RV. The graphics are rough but I've been looking for a good complex (IE. mature player base), sandbox based game since leaving SWG. As long as the crafting is good and I'm not trapped on an endless road (WOW) then I everything should be fine.
Also like said above... not one damn elf to be seen. That's nearly enough to make it worthwhile by itself. |

Excellent article and as much as I'd like to say after the abuse SOE gave me after spending so much time developing my chars, (started day after launch), that I'd NEVER give them another dime I'd have to admit that if a classic pre-CU server opened I'd most likely have all three accounts back open to play on it.
Or I can play the upcoming Roma Victor and SOE can enjoy it's empty NGE servers themselves. One thing is sure though, Hell will freeze before I play another fantasy Elf hunting Orcs in ANY game ever again.  |

Tried EQ before SWG (That's where I discovered my now eternal hatred for magical elfs, dwarfs and orcs.) Started playing SWG on the second day after launch. |

I'm looking forward to Roma Victor even though the graphics look somewhat sub-par. I just want back into a game with a good crafting skills setup, large areas to explore and sandbox based.
One thing that might be a deal breaker is the payment system. If it's too far out of line with the $15 a month standard then they'll lose me. It's just a game, I won't give up eating for it. Oh yeah, Number 1 on my list of things that sound good: Not one damn arm waving, magic spitting elf on the planet.
