Well I used to but then the divorce became final.

I think you're not understanding what I mean here.  I'm not calling anyone a Bioware fanboy and I'm just as excited about SW:TOR coming out as you are.  I keep an eye out for new feature  and timeline  announcements as much as anybody.

I simply wish that "every" thread that gets started about the game didn't turn into a running love story about how great a history Bioware has had by the middle of page 2.  We know Bioware is successful,  we know they have a lot of talent hired.  Nobody is putting Bioware down here.

I simply wish we could get back to talking about the game and not the company constantly.

As far as the link, it's called humor.  Relax a bit.

This may be a great game or it may be horrible.  It's too early to tell.

The problem is everyone is so obsessed with Bioware that just mentioning them seems to turn everyones brain off about the game being developed and completely focused on the Infinite wisdom of the company making it.  I agree they've done great work in the past but why don't we let them actually complete their first MMORPG before nominating the organization for Sainthood.

Current reaction of Bioware obsessed fans.

Sometimes you just have to face the fact that there comes a time when you have to take Old Yeller out behind the barn and pull the trigger....

My largest concern is that the gravity from his immense ego might cause tidal waves around the planet.

I'd like to see him shot into space, it's the bringing him back I could live without.

Voice now available in SWG eh?  But what will happen if all 8 people on the server try to speak at once?

More limited then it is on a daily basis?

I figure that's only possible if they send the one guy from India that normally handles the job for SOE directly to my house to beat my computer with a hammer.

Oh come on, everyone knows it's  .._. not  ...
 ...?
That's just crazy talk.
Does all this mean I'm wrong for writing a macro for my buffbot to buy the uber-version of this article from ebay while having it pull a train of other articles with it to my second multibox to be read later by my second twinked bot which will be camped waiting for it to arrive?

I am 35yrs old, a father of 3, have a full time job, have happy marriage, own a house, and consider myself casual even though I play 30+ hours a week and lead a guild with over 100 active members.

This is one of the saddest examples of screwed up priorities I've ever seen.  You might want to confirm that "happy marriage" theory if you're leaving your wife alone to take care of those 3 kids every night while you play games 30+ hours a week.
Log off and go see your family dumb***.

Then you are ready to enjoy the NGE.
I thought that's what they did just before coding, (using term loosely), the NGE.

I tried this game when it first came out, and quite frankly it was hideous. Have they patched it were it's atleast playable now?

It's very playable, just takes a heafty machine to run.  Graphics aren't cutting edge by any means but are better then before.

It's just not an install and have a "win button" type game.
It's a blast as long as you're willing to take the time to climb a steep learning curve and don't mind dying a lot.
I've got dying down to an artform.

Oh btw, bring a big honking video card with you.

I have to agree that it was a good article even if admitting that I agree with Dan about anything does make me feel a little ill.

Sure we didn't have a ghost writer this week?
You have to hand it to D&L, They have managed the impossible.
They made SWG look like a glowing beacon of MMORPG perfection.

Dan Fortier is a tool and coward, not to mention a barely literate writer. if he's afraid to face equal danger but just wants to kick low levels around then I can only assume he's most likely attempting to makeup for certain "shortcomings" in RL. (Insert your own "short" joke here).

Now can we please get a columnist over the age of 12 to take over the editorials?

And before the screams of "carebear" start rolling in from the spine-inpaired gankers know that I've spent over a year in EVE killing and being killed with the rest of them.  I have no problems with taking a beating when I deserve it.  I also don't feel it makes me a bigger badder man of war to kick the crap out of a 1 week player still trying to learn how to operate their "starter ship".

But hey, if it's the only way to boost your obvious low self exteme go for it, it's just a game junior.

Anyone who took third grade math or has played EVE can tell you those ten to fifteen dollars a month is an awful lot of money to pay just to be treated like a kid with pink-eye.

Hah, did anyone else catch that?

Good article.

Even stranger when placed beside the quote in last weeks (cough cough) editorial,
So You Want Your Own 600lb Gorilla?

 http://www.mmorpg.com/showFeature.cfm/loadFeature/938/JeremyStarleySoYouWanta600lbsGorilla.html

from another mmorpg.com staff member that claimed:

"Eve is the equivalent of solving algebra problems in college."

Since both can't be true it appears to me one of three things must be the cause for the difference:
(1) One went to the toughest 3rd grade math class on earth
(2) One can't add without use of fingers.
(3) or neither of these people have ever actually played the game.
