I think as these games (MMoRPGs) become more and more popular and even more importantly numerous, services like this are only going to take off even more.

In my case, I'm about to get married in one week, and I have to finish my last semester of college this fall. I'm not going to get much playing time at all for the next few months. My brother and our friends will.

We play EQ2, and quite frankly I wouldn't have any problem with having someone powerlevel my toon so I could catch up with them at a later time, so I can play alongside them like I've been doing.

I think people who say that things like this weaken the gaming community need to be careful about that statement, as I think in some games it doesn't really matter at all.

In EQ2 for instance, the spells and combat arts recycle themselves eery tier essentially. Every class has those odd special spells that you get one or so versions of, but essentially if you play the class for a tier or 2 at some point, you should have enough experience to play the toon at the top tier.

I'd resub just as a vote for rolling back the servers. Probably wouldn't even play the game.

I just visited some relatives of mine that live in another state that I do. I went with them to visit a friend of theirs who sits in his giant basement and plays with his toy trains all day. He runs simulated "cargo" runs, and has to complete his route.... And you think MMORPG Gamers are bad

Are MATs that drop in zones and from NPCs that are greyed out still insanely hard to come by?

I couldn't take trying to skill up in tradeskills and not have any grease available to me.

Not the only reason why I'm not playing AA atm, but one of the biggest by far.

Another way to take have a sure-fire take-off is to start your engines. hit the '/' key to unlock the tail wheel. Throttle up just a tad and hold either the left or right brake key ('z' or 'x'). When you are pointing to one of the ends of the airfield, lock the tailwheel, and taxi out to the end of the airfield. When you get to the edge of the tail field, apply the brakes. Before you come to a stop, unlock the tail wheel again and spin the plan around 180 degrees. Relock the tail wheel. Set the Engine RPM to max (']' twice). Adjust the trim up some ('l' key I think, this is one of the things I have set to my X45). Hold both brakes, throttle up, and enjoy the extra take off room as you race across the entire airfield.

they won't sell it, that means they would have to admit they were wrong.  And from the sounds of it I got a better chance of growing t**s then they do of admitting their mistake.

By the way if I grew t**s I would never leave my house

Everyone has a price, it becomes a question if someone has enough money.

I disagree with OP.  I would never say that penalties are a form of challenge.  Penalties are a form of danger.  There is no risk if nothing is lost.  While the penalties may vary from game to game, they are a required game mechanic to create danger in a game where the actual player suffers nothing from the toon's death.
While I agree with you in that penalties are indeed a form of danger (which could in turn be construed as a challenge to avoid said danger), and that using penalties are indeed a required game mechanic to create an environment filled with danger.

However, with the ever increasing lean towards little to no penalties in MMOs today, I don't know how successfull a game will become with the penalties many of us remember from EQ1. That's not saying a game with a heavy handed death penalty won't draw 100k, 200k, perhaps 300k subs. What I am saying is what will the publisher and other money lenders say when a game with a heavy handed penalty system tops out at those numbers?

I loved to AAA in game. The brigade rule changes made it pretty hard to stay alive as AAA, as it took away a lot of toys (tanks, recon vehicles) and increased the number of EI. I started dieing way too much to EI, even in the AB. Anyways, hope this helps...

I was really good with the bofors on the Allied planes. The Axis Flak30 is horsepoo, and I can't really comment at all on the Allied guns.

With the bofors, you must first realize that the round comes out of the barrel initially the the left of the center crosshairs, and as it travels will converge towards the centerline. So for planes that are coming in close on strafing runs, you want to aim a little right(? been awhile, might be left).

Also, note that the round drops quite a bit, which is normal. It's called trajectory. When shooting at long distance targets you will not only lead the plane, but also aim a bit higher.

With practice, you can nail a few grey circle planes every now and then. It is possible, and I've bagged a handful of grey circles (mostly bombers, but I did manage a Spit once).

WOW, your testitmonial sounds more like a veteran trying to get newbie players to try the game IMHO.

Hey, you mind if I put you on my xfire list? You keep it on all the time? Reason I ask? WW2 Online is listed on XFire, and it doesn't show up in your xfire game listings....

My brother has a few of the lightsabers, the snowspeeder, and the AT-AT. I need to tell him about the Y-Wing!

All are amazing.

EDIT: Note some states like my homestate of NY won't allow even toy guns, replica guns, and even replica movie prop sci-fi guns to be shipped there. So unfortunately, we can't get the blasters here.

I'll probably still give it a whirl. I miss doing AAA duty in ABs.

I wouldn't be surprised to see that before they pull the plug, that there will be a rollback in some regard. I just don't think LEC and SOE will just let it die. They'll come up with some lame excuse, "Oh we found a backup of the pre-NGE on some discs we had forgotten about," or some equally lame excuse.

Cause if they pull the plug, they can't bill anyone anymore. At least with a rollback, people are bound to come back. I think...

I would resub for a pre-CU or even a pre-NGE server just to increase the sub number by one to rub it into the idiots face who thought the NGE would work. I'd be willing to part with $15 for a few months to make a point.

You get rid of the HC and all of the features associated with them, and fix & work on the game mechanics (rudder fix, camauflage, foxholes, etc), and I know a slew of people who would come back, myself included.

Get over it the HC is always gonna be there.  If your waiting for the HC to be done away with then your in for a really long wait.

I can dream can't I?

Here's what you do:

Find a squad with good and funny people and join them. Do your job with the squad and rank and skills will come to you as you're surrounded by supportive players.

That should be the main advice given to any noob of any MMO game out there.

if you're into ghost recon kind of stuff, I'd say stay away.

Yes you can do a lot of things, but there are ranks in game (ie; levels), and when you start out you are very limited to what you can do. Plus the world is very big, so walking to back areas to mess with people can take a long time walking. You really would need to get in game, and hook up with a squad to learn the game first.

Also, they Devs are constantly working to make the game a very good war simulator which means they are doing more and more to limit the total number of unit available, and where and when you can spawn. It allows for more action in general and makes it easier to find the action, but stealth recon kind of stuff I would think is a thing of days gone past. (btw, I haven't played in a good 6 months)
