I like the way you think, people should try a game out before they give their opinion on it.

I WILL play this game, Will you?

I can understand why people would feel disinclined to play a game that's based on a Movie/TV show, there's been tons of movie tie-in's before, such as disney films like Cars. But on the other hand, there is a lot of advantages to tie-ins. It gives the game a storylinee, theme, style to work with, usually resulting in a better game. Another advantage would be that it encourages a larger player base, which is essential in a MMORPG. Any other thoughts on this? |

Anyone else has the uneasy feeling in the pit of their stomach

I feel it's a good thing they haven't been been bullied into releasing information that may force them into commiting into ideas. For example, if they explain in detail how the gameplay will run, they may feel that they have to stick with that idea, even if it's a bad idea.
Not realeasing data is building enough hype as it is anyway at the moment. What does everyone else think? |

Okay, new idea.
How about keeping the standard fee, while reducing the typical $15 a month by including extra content via advertising on expanisions and chapters? I feel that the problem of unsocialable characters isn't going to be reduced significantly by raising the price using monthly fees. Though people tend to agree that it does lower the total characters around. Another idea is can anyone think of a new way to pay, such as via SMS? (Habbo Hotel) |

Advertising is a good concept., as long as it isn't placed somewhere that would make the game world seem stupid. For example, travel on another world and see alien races with Dr.Pepper cans. Seems unrealistic, But the generic £14.99 seems to be the most popular choice.
I don't think player base will be a problem as Stargate is a very popular program/movie. Therefore, people are enticed into paying for the game. And my previous comment wasn't referring to Guild Wars Hall of Heroes, it was referring to Space Cowboy Online where each area have at least 2 instances of an area. |

Haha it takes a power leveling service 2 months to level to 99

Runescape is a different style to Maplestory, the graphics are a medium to reflect the atmosphere of the game, Maplestory is meant to be a cute, family game and you can see this is the way it uses it's graphics.
On the other hand Runescape is a more serious game, therefore the game graphics are darker. But I don't think you can judge a game just by if it's 2D or 3D, or the quality of the graphics, there are many games that have been considered classics regardless of graphics, such as Pacman or Dizzy (Yeah, old school!) I personally like the Anime-style graphics, but that's just my opinion! |

I wonder what kind of missions they will have and how they will be presented to us. I hope that we can avoid the "Kill x number of creature" type missions followed by "Kill another x number of creature and kill something slightly stronger". Because, as most people will agree will get boring. Very quickly.
My first idea is about the PvP aspect is that every world is controled my a certian race, and that places can be raided by other races to take over the area. You can still go to the world however, but you have to be careful and try to avoid the town nearby. A simliar setup is on Space Cowboy, which featured massive battles (200+ Ships). An idea about Missions could be that a set number of people, like 20 or so can get sent to a "Mission Map" where they can carry out their "orders". If you don't want to go on missions you can explore as a team, going anywhere you like, with dangers as well. Any other ideas on how Missions should be presented, or how exploration should be organised? |

Sorta like an exploration mission?
Reminds me of the setup of Space Cowboy. There would be massive (200+ ships) battles where two nations would fight over maps. But for people who just want to level and explore they could go to a second "room", available only if the nation controled the area, where the other nation couldn't enter. And it's Free to Play as well I'll make another thread about missions! |

Perhaps a combonation of several methods?
Reduce the monthly fees, but bring out buyable expansions, give the option of premium items (It has to be easy though, like Habbo Hotel's pay via your mobile credit). I dissagree with Guild Wars chapters being a bad thing. The Factions expansion was a let down admittingly, but it give give a lot of new life into the game and brought many new players. If the problem of lifespan could be fixed in the Nightfall expansion I think it would have solved most of people's problems/conplaints. But with a total freeroaming area, there becomes the problem of overcrowding, I want to see where I am without having to search in great detail. Perhaps you could roam but there be a "Mission Map" where a limited amount of people enter at once, sorta like 20 people get sent on a mission to another world! Any thought on this? |

Do you think that gamers should pay a monthly charge for Stargate Worlds, or should it be in chapters like Guild Wars, where you buy the game then new content is released every 6 months or so, or perhaps Free to Play, never having to pay ever, or maybe you could buy "Premium" items in game that costs real money?
Games that charge a monthly fee are always well maintained and usually have new updates and expansions added on regularly, but ends up costing a lot money over a 12 month period. (£14.99 per month x 12 Months = £179.88) Pay Per Chapter is good for people who don't want to pay a monthly fee because of their limited use of the game but does mean expansions will cost roughly £20 each time. Free to Play is good for people who do not have a lot of money and cannot afford a monthly fee, also it gets rid of the need to use your credit card. The downside is you get a lot of "DANNY IS A MUG!" repeated in your chat menu several thousand times and a lot of people who generally ruin the games atmosphere. What does everyone else thing? |
