I would say the combat system. The concept of having to change your weapons and stances a lot seems like it might be tedious and annoying to me. From the videos I've seen it looks like you have to do it ALL the time. Seems like a false mechanic that just extends the effort needed for no reason other than trying to seem different, but the end result is exactly the same as a game that has every move on multiple hotbars except now you have to press another button inbetween sometimes.

This is just from what I've seen so far though, I'll see what it's like properly once I have my hands on it. It may actually be fantastic.. but I wasn't impressed with what AoC did by adding extra things to press to get the same result compared to almost every other MMO.

would more easy if we at least could see the other skills and change to that weapon/stance pressing it and using the skill afterwards...(ez mode)

because while im not bad remembering where the skills are .........sometimes in the middle of the battle........

change weapon , check for the skill.....oh its 4.....

having the option to see everything can help :S hope its gets implemented (at least 2 bars )

instanced dungeons arent by itself  a bad idea .....

the last non-instanced game i played is FFXI ,and let me tell u , the endgame sucked because of that , boting was the norm , because claiming the boss vs 3-4 guild (LS) that were there ....was "fun"

grind......why no more grind games? thats simple , because nowadays ppl dont want to level for months , and mmorpgs now u level SOLO , u dont need exp leveling groups anymore  (thats the main issue for me in actual mmorpgs)

but yeah the OP got a point , mmorpgs are solo rpgs with chat

That is not always true.

In fact my Swedish EQ2 guild spent 5 years on a US EQ2 server because we got a lot better ping on it then on the brittish servers. And I am talking about a lot, not just for me but everyone who tried both in the guild.

While that partly might have been because SOEs EU servers suck my latency usually were at least close to most US players. Of course itt might have helped that prime time for me not always were prime time for the yanks but since me and a few guildies worked night and often played when a lot was on I don´t thinik it just was that.

when leveling becomed a "solo experience" its when thing went wrong imo

while forcing ppl to lvl in groups is a "mistake" for 1 i would love to see how that worked nowadays.....

in the KR beta i was playing with 150ms ~  (and my conexion sucks >< )

anyway i expect around 100ms in the US server maybe less if we are lucky ^^

Those are the numbers that were in your instance.  You can't do a /who and get feedback from people in other instances.  They work just like the instances in City of Heroes and Champions Online.  Atlas park would immediately splinter into another instance once 100 or so people joined.  The problem is that once the instances are created, they don't disappear until a reset, so as the game progresses, you get people scattered through many different instances as they get shot their randomly by the server whenever they zone or log in.  So you could end up with dozens if not more instances that were only partially filled.

 

no ,in swotor the zones dont stay , i noticed that the game autoregulates itself if the first zones is going empty , the 2nd zone becomes red (u cant travel there) and the ppl inside will be ported to Zone1 as soon as the games is able to.

average , but no pet classes was a huge letdown for me :( , i dont mind mirror classes (aniamtions change so is ok)
