Guess that "Work" Arguement didn't quite pan out...
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 12/14/11 12:15:54 AM
I'm guessing they underestimated the amount of players they could let in today, just to be safe. Tomorrow they'll probably let in at least twice as many. I expect in two or three days we'll all be playing, regardless of when we pre-ordered. |

SWTOR ..waiting for an email...Your gona hate this
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 12/14/11 12:00:51 AM
Star Trek Online? Seriously? I really hope you're wrong about that, because STO was the biggest MMO disappointment in my lifetime. Had such high hopes for it, but it's almost totally crap. Crappy ground combat, repetitive space combat, stupid crafting, worthless starship interiors, too over the top character creation, lack of Klingon PvE content, real world $$$ ship models, and worst of all it's now going free to play. I'm really a big Star Trek fan, but I found the game to be utterly unplayable. It's just not fun. And even having the Star Trek name on it isn't enough reason for me to play a bad game. |

Wish Bioware would of sent out E-mails letting us know when we get in ahead of time

I don't know honestly. Some people are obsessed with being first to max level. Myself, I plan to take it slow and enjoy the game. This early I doubt there is anything really great to see at end game, except grinding PvP. |

You do realize that if you lie about getting in, when you really haven't yet, you will end up cursed for all eternity right? |

If you're in, do the rest of us a favor and post the date you submitted your pre-order code. |

I am guessing, once TOR comes out..2/3rds of you all will be doing this at home in celebration.

I feel sad when I watch this. Did you know the guy in the video had to like quit school and move because he kept getting bullied after some people from his school recorded and posted this on the internet without his knowledge? I mean, who hasn't done this sort of thing at a young age in the privacy of their own home when no one was watching. How would you like it if the entire world saw and laughed at you? |

Anyone else bothered by the lightsaber/blaster crystal restrictions?
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 12/13/11 12:13:18 AM
I think the main reason it's restricted is to add an interesting element to the game. Plus I guess the developers, who are probably Star Wars fans as well, wanted to give a real consequence to the lightside/darkside choices. Even though I'm not sure I support this system, it does make you consider your choices when you might be laughed at for being a lightside sith/ darkside jedi. Just imagine the embarassment. After months of hard work you finally get ready to seriously raid. The group gathers. You ready yourself for combat. Your lightsaber hisses out. And then people begin to laugh at you. |

13 hours 35 minutes until SWTOR early release begins. Are you ready?!?!

Originally posted by grunt187 I've heard about that. The arrow in the knee thing. It's funny, I played Skyrim (sadly on PS3) and I had to google it before I got the joke. What's more is that I thought the common saying by the guards there, "Let me guess. Someone stole your sweetroll?" would be the one people made a joke about. I always got a laugh out of that one in-game. |

When do we know we can play?
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 12/12/11 11:57:42 PM
I think the problem with most people is the uncertainty. When exactly will I get in? And should I wait on my computer and check every ten minutes? The thing is, we don't know how many people will be let in the first day. Tens of thousands surely. But then I am guessing the people at BioWare will be keeping an eye on the population of the starting zones. When they dip below a certain number, they'll probably authorize more people to come in. Hopefully BioWare has not underestimated the amount of servers they will need or else many of us could be in for a long wait. Of course I'm hoping they've overestimated and by day three everyone will be in. Yet, there is nothing to do now but wait, and hope. |

General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 12/12/11 11:44:19 PM
Ready, but worried. It's going to be a waiting game to see when I get access, which I hate. Then since I didn't participate in the beta I'll just have to hope it runs on my computer without any problems. It should, as I have a decent one, but nothing is sure these days. Then I have to worry about whether or not my character names will be available. Hopefully I can find a server where they are. After that we will all have to deal with the overcrowded starting zones and all the many idiocies that evolve from having a bunch of noobs playing a new game at once. Not to mention all the annoying people taking a break from WoW to play it.
So am I ready? No, I don't think any of us are really ready. But let it come I say, let it come. |

Anyone else bothered by the lightsaber/blaster crystal restrictions?
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 12/12/11 11:36:14 PM
I think some color crystals should be restricted, but I think you should never lose red as sith, nor green/blue as jedi. You should be required though as a sith to be lightside before you can use green/blue, and darkside as a jedi to use red. One worry though is people suddenly not able to use weapons when their alignment changes. I think that should be fixed. Either by not allowing you to equip new weapons that are blocked by your alignment, but allowing you to keep those already in use. Or by having it only unequip after 24 hours/after you logout. I personally would like for red and green/blue to be restricted to each side, so that you can never use them, but I doubt that will happen. Still, maybe they shouldn't restrict colors at all. I mean, if a sith picked up a fallen jedi's lightsaber (or vice versa) it's not like he/she wouldn't be able to use it. |

Am I the only one who looks at the Smuggler class, sees that huge hat, and just has to shake his head in disbelief? I mean every time I see pictures of a smuggler character in that ridiculous hat I feel like slapping BioWare. Even the awesome video animated trailer Return was silly with that hat. I can't help thinking of that line from Return of the Jedi every time I see that stupid hat. "Yea, well I don't think the Empire had Wookiees in mind when they designed her, Chewie." Well I for one don't think they had hats that size in mind when they designed her either. |

World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Reactions
News Discussion « General Discussion 10/28/11 6:55:48 AM
I would have loved Ethereals as a race, as one poster suggested. Sadly Blizz seems to have this problem of ignoring everything they've created in previous expansions, as if they're not good enough. There are several races from Outland and Northrend that would make great members of the Horde/Alliance. But instead of working with what they have, Blizz is determined to keep creating more. Blizz should scrap this expansion and work on making levels 60-80 better, while possibly bringing in new races from those areas. |
