I  would complain and whine about it, but end up paying it.  Being as I live on line.  But the game would REALLY have to be worth it.

Lady Reno.  You don't have to upgrade your computer right now at all.  Probably not for another year or 2 will you have to replace any parts.  Most games are made for the lowest common denominator, so the high-end usually takes a hit unless your playing one of the few high end titles released yearly.  3.4 ghz dual core is more then enough to handle any thing.  If you switch to an e6300 you will actually only slow down your system then what it was previously, even with an overclock.  Upgrading to the 8800 from the X1950 is negligible performance upgrade primarily because of the DX10 architecture.  I highly suggest you wait atleast a year before doing any upgrades to save on the pocket book.  Also in another year the technology will be alot better with quad core and the kinks worked out of DX10 card drivers with a whole new generation.  Personally, thats what I am doing.  I am waiting for AMDs Phenon processors to release then splurge on a new system utilizing the Thermaltake Mozart Case with all the cash I have been holding on to for over a year.

BTW there is an overclocking guide for the e6300 at Tom's Hardware.

Thanks for the advise kind of what I was doing.  Heh also still on xp home.  So figured this was a good year to get the wide screen moditor.

You should get a 8800, that would boost your performance, and what processor do you have? It must be overclocked

-E6300 (core2duo1.8ghz) OCd to 3.2 GHZ
-2 gigs of ram
- 8800GTX
-CM stacker case
-corsair 700w PSU

cost me 1500ish w/o speakers, keyboard etc

Have no idea even were to find  if it is overclocked or not lol.  Mother board is a msi, processor is a intel.   I've thought about getting the 8800 but saving for a wide screen moditor first, have a 19' flat right now.  After that we'll see.

First it depends upon weather or not your computer can run the game.  What type of gamer are you?  Vanguard is a grind taking lots and lots of time, if you don't have the time then lotr would be a better choice.  Myself I play vanguard, I tried lotr and found it boring.  But thats my choice.

LOL 49 year old female here .  Started playing mmo's about 3 years ago when eq2 came out.  AIl I  use to play all those single games were you  play through once then  look for another one.  I hated the idea of paying a service fee.  So while I was talking to one of my tenants (I'm a building manager) he talked me into trying it. I  loved it.  I love the social aspects of the mmo world.  Meeting and talking to people from all walks of life.

And now I play Vanguard and have been playing since beta 2.3.  I  love the crafting and adventuering aspects of the game.  I hope it manages to weather all the bumps in the road and maybe soe taking over won't be so bad.  We will all just have to wait and see what happens.

You should be ok.  Game runs fine on both my computers.  The specs are as follows:

3.4 duel core

x1950pro

2gigs of ram

This is my grouping computer I have very little issues running vg with it.

2.8 duel core

6600 nivida

2gigs of ram

Now on this one is mostly tradeskills and harvesting.  I do have issues with the fps due to the card and the lower processor.

You should be fine.  I personally like the game, and have been playing since beta 2.3.

I no longer have any more keys : ).  Judge the game for yourself.   Remember alot of the performace depends  upon your system as well.

Thanks for the warning; but no since in letting them sit there.  I personally don't buy from gold sellers and report them when  I get in game tells or mail.

If you want to try it out send me a message.  I have a few buddy keys.  Now I personally love VG.  Been playing since beta 2.3, now thats was bad.  Was almost unplayable.  Came back and tried it again when they went to beta 3, was much better and have been playing ever since.  But if you want to give it a try let me know.

Thanks for the reply was able to find the new site and finally able to register.  This game looks really interesting I always spend more time at the crafting tables than adventuring, so anything with an interesting crafting system catches my interest.  Had the simple crafting systems of wow and eq2.
