I'd place it in the EVE / SWG (Orig) / UO type bracket. It is hard to classify what any one player would like, but I think if you found fun in the original SWG or even UO before they bastardized it into 2D WoW... Then you'd probably like FE. |

The game is young yet. At the beginning, it is fun, the "Oh, look! I make my ammo! Ohh I made myself a coat!" I think what will happen is, the average gamer attention span will kick in right about the time people hit the mid-teens and see what it takes to actually craft stuff. It requires a lot of work so far. Then again, I'm not thinking small.... I've partnered up with somebody in game to maximize our crafting effort, at the moment, we're trying to make a Dune Buggy! For 1 guy alone, that could take WEEKS of crafting research and component crafting. I can't imagine your average "I PWN JOO" player spending that amount of time an energy to make items like that. Besides, there's tons of combat and other things to do in the game - and I think in due time when the massive influx of sight-seers leave the game, and the community evens out, you'll see a lot more diversity in how the game is played. |

I was some what curious on it all too, I've been playing, have spent only a few AP so far just to get things I need, but I'm a fan of armor use + rifles. Yet that doesn't fit in with my Faction of choice. I want to be a Traveler. While pistols and such are neat, my goals for how I want to play my character are different.

I just like how Blizzard themselves does the math. I won't explain cause it's all been said before, but WoW's CURRENT AND ACTIVE SUBSCRIBERS is nowhere near even the OFFICIAL numbers Blizzard puts out. Regardless, of who's right, wrong or otherwise, are there still people to fill your meaningless raids to grind for your never dropping purples? As long as you can answer yes to that question, I guess WoW is still being played by enough people to make any topic like this pointless! |

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning: Mac Version Release Date Announced
News Discussion « General Discussion 9/30/09 1:19:20 AM
Back on topic, the reason WAR is being pushed onto the Mac probably has something to do with a year or so ago when Apple and EA were at one of the larger Mac events all like "ZOMG WE'RE PARTNERING WITH EA TO BRING CUTTING EDGE GAMING TO THE MAC! I remember a promise in there about how EA games would see simultaneous release on both PC / Mac platforms, etc etc.. I don't think that went quite as planned, but 'eh. A lot more people would own Macs and a lot more people would buy the damn things if Mr. Steve Jobs would just accept the fact that putting 3 year old graphics technology in your 'cutting edge' computers doesn't really do it! It is easier than ever for developers to port to Mac as well with CIDER (look it up). In fact, Nvidia was a major supporter of it at about the same time EA and Apple were all "woohoo!" - then Apple repays them by offering mid-range ATI cards as their "Top of the Line" ... So, at least EA / Mythic isn't going to be out too much when hardly anybody uses the Mac client :) |

Originally posted by Dekron You probably want to spend some of that AP. Levels themselves aren't as important as AP and what you spend it on. I know. I just don't know on what I should spend it. I don't want to screw up and reroll and lose my bonus ATV.
So far, I've only spent AP on skills I need when I need them. Oh, new crossbow (I know I want rifles, so this works out.) spend a few points in rifles. When I start to not be just fine, I'll worry more about it then. Until then, my "Spend it as I need it" plays style will work out. |

So far, I'm enjoying the game immensely, except for the constant crashes every time I go to a town :( It has to be a memory leak, which I'm sure will get resolved. (FYI, No lag, at all, no system lag either, other than the crashes when I enter towns, the game is 100% smooth). |

So, finally bought it! Would have been sooner, but instead of letting me use Paypal where I have a nice little gaming money fund set.. Direct 2 Drive was being a P.I.T.A. and only took Credit Card.. So now, I'll get to hear wife bitching over it. But oh well - hoping to have some fun with it tomorrow. 3:30am is a little late to be starting this, and got knows when the patching will be done!

A guide on... how to afk because I am pissed at NCsoft!
General Discussion « Aion 9/25/09 5:21:21 PM
This is where the CN version had it right. Either way, I think it is funny and sad at the same time that this is how the game is making its start in the western world.

Solution = Make AFK Stores Auto DC or disable AFK Stores for this "Launch Period" Imagine, every issue (with logging in at least) resolved. Less Forum QQ and more in game QQ. FYI: I didn't even make it out of the 2 day head start before I gave up on Aion.. :( Not for queue reasons, just because, meh. |

If NCsoft had any sense are all (however, proving they don't) .. They'd disable the Player Character "shops" for the first week or 2. Hell, nobody has anything worth selling anyways at this point. Can't blame them (NCSoft) really, they took an Asian game and moved it to a Western Audience, they just forgot to do their homework on the inherent stupidity, greed, and overall "dipshit-ness' of the western world. |

Yep, this is that amazing Aion Community at work! |

You're using an example of something that will last me years, not two days. You're basically complaining over getting a pack of Skittles that promised 100 pieces and was missing 5 from the pack.
But it is still 5 less than promised. So you technically gave truth to HIS argument. It would seem a large portion of that population is unable to play their characters as suggested they would be able to, there for have valid complaint to be a little annoyed. So I think it is worth arguing? Nope. Because give it about 2-3 months and most of these servers will be ghost towns anyways of all the people who are tired of the "OOO NEW.. SHINY" and will return to their previous games. (Like Previous launches.. AoC, WAR, etc... History repeating... over and over and over..) |

DDO! A game that is only partly broken! |

5 Hr 37 minute wait.. lol. That seems a little excessive. Considering the whole game is copies of zones and instances they'd be able to manage this better. On top of that, your "amazing community" is disallowing you to play by setting up their AFK Shops! |

I was just on the Zikel, but there were just WAY too many people.. (which was HILARIOUS!) But time to get food. Logged off, so one of you other Zikel now have a chance! |
