Diablo 3 and DOTA 2, but mostly Diablo 3. Some Tera here and there. I will play Tera at launch up till D3 launch then likely suspend sub and dump 99% of my gaming time into Diablo 3. I will probably do this until GW2 and then mix them up. With these two games I don'e see how I will play a cookie cutter MMO or pay a sub for years. WoD prove me wrong. |

I cannot freaking wait for this game. This and archeage are about my only hopes for this molested genre.

Me too! Like way more than I thought I would.. Problem now is I don't want to overplay the damn beta. I guess i'll just try classes I don't plan on playing. Man though, the PvP even just dueling early is unbelievable. Really, truly, some real skill involved. Twitchy skill that just felt right. What I would give to have this combat system in Darkfall. Aventurine needs to look at this game to figure out how to make some engrossing twitch combat in an mmo. |

a GW2 fan's opinion of Tera as of 3/24 beta(not a troll)
General Discussion « TERA 3/25/12 7:04:54 AM
Yeah this game pleasantly surprised me. At first I ignored it, thinking just another asian grinder. Then I realized after 3 weeks of SWTOR and the shallow excuse for an MMO it is that what I am burned out on is just another AAA shallow themepark. The combat, the grindiness at times, the slightly old school feel, and the different focus especially what I have read of end game are all a breath of fresh air. I preordered and this may be my main MMO for a long time to come. GW2 and Diablo 3 will take time away, but I don't mind subbing as long as I play 20 hours or more a month and it really does offer a breath of fresh air. My biggest problem now is that I have bought it and don't want to spoil much more so I don't want to play the crap out of the beta. Same issue with most games I am playing right now being in beta.. Path of Exile, Diablo 3, etc. etc. It seems like the only game I have to play right now that isn't beta is Kingdoms of Amalur, and I am actually looking for something to burn some time on PC. |

Diablo 3: Making the End Game Fun & Exciting

Originally posted by Zekiah The main thing they dumbed down is the leveling process. They gave the player less options when leveling up, but what they have done is create a skill/rune/loadout system where they want for their to be millions of viable combinations without one or two min/maxed builds that everyone runs or they are gimped. They still have a lot of build flexibility and their goal is to keep it balanced where all combinations are viable so in a way they have made the end game choices much more robust instead of a few cookie cutter builds that dominate all. Of course this will come down to overall balance. If you are referring to the game being made too easy as was the case through patch 15 of beta they have turned up the difficulty greatly and now even those calling for crazy difficulty are appeased with normal mode alone. The game will plenty difficult and harsh with hardcore, and the four layers of difficulty. I think that many haven't paid very close attention that are calling it dumbed down or too easy. |

Diablo 3: Making the End Game Fun & Exciting

Very cool system. I like how it helps put an identification on a loot run and helps you to figure out what you want to do in a run at end game. Pretty good idea for this style of game imo. Can't wait to get my hands on it. |

You know I didn't ever play a lot of EQ. Played a lot of EQ2, but this is something that has piqued my interest so I will try it out. Wish me luck. |

Is the microtransaction system changing your mind? {Poll}

I will play, and if it is good enough to be my main game I will probably drop $15-20 a month to support them. If I play Tera and this like I plan I will prob give them $10 a month to support them. |

Guild Wars 2: Microtransaction Goals & Systems Detailed
News Discussion « General Discussion 3/20/12 2:04:59 PM
+1 Perfectly said. It is a solid system that worked very well in EVE. RMT outside of game is the greatest evil to the economy of an MMO and this eradicates it. |

The best part is you can buy anything in the cash shop with in game currency basically so you can be crafty and get all cash shop items for free if you spend enough time. |

It is straight up taking RMT out of third parties hands and putting it in the hands of the players. A game like WoW any player can go out to a website and spend $50 and get thousands and thousands of in game currency, and then go spend it on anything in the game. A game like EVE or GW2 players can buy gems and use them to buy gold from the players and do the same thing. The difference is the in game economy is in the players hands. It isn't a bad system really. As long as there isn't stuff you can buy for gems only that give an advantage over those who only use gold. |

Hopefully this is how all of you/us themepark jumpers are getting. This way these narrow minded devs will stop making money and we can have some innovation. Just keep an eye on Planetside 2, World of Darkness, ArcheAge, etc. for something different. |

Area looks pretty cool. I do like the scale of things in Tera. Can't wait to group up and slaughter a few thousand mobs. My brain needs it. |

Originally posted by Leucent ArcheAge could be our only hope for this, or World of Darkness, or PlanetSide2, or just play EVE. |

Haha this game is a joke in EVERY aspect with one of the worst/most abusive cash shops ever. This is a gaming experience you should definitely miss. Miss it really well, like avoid it at all costs. |

I think they are making steps in the right direction. It is hard to allow open adventure feel and stop ganking altogether. Hopefully they take the time to do it right, but I am actually open to getting ganked if it means some freedom from artificially binding systems. Also Lobo grats on your Path of Exile beta! Been trying to get into that thing every day since I stumbled across it and noticed you got in. Have some fun~ |

It definitely stands a chance because it offers something different than most of whats out there. SWTOR/WoW/Rift/etc are all competing for a similar type of gameplay experience and market while Tera is quite different. I think because of this it can co exist better than most of the others and it won't be so tied to population shifts with others. GW2 will surely hurt all of these titles, but I think that Tera is different enough and scratches a certain itch that will allow it to survive as a nice little niche game. |

Man, and after being in touch with the community and having so much feedback saying, 'Please no more on rails themepark, please in game freedom back, please no WoW.' It seems like they didn't really listen and are just chasing subs. I hope they can pull off enough uniqueness to make something fun and interesting. Will withhold judgment until more information is out. |
