Second Life: Gambling Banned in Second Life
News Discussion « General Discussion 7/29/07 2:47:49 PM
Stupid stupid stupid. For the person whose telling people to go out and have a real life, you make a lot of sense posting here. Fatty. As for banning gambling, omg, might as well just shut this game down now. What's left? Nothing. They started first with worrying about crime in game? Now banning gambling? Wtf is that? Second Life, not First Life.
Next is kill someone in-game get death sentence in real life yes! |

The WoW Monopoly and Empty Servers
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 6/01/07 12:46:21 AM
you don't think swg has mass market appeal? are you crazy... there's people still whining about the CU. swg was awesome pre-CU. if they never came out with nge or anything i think it would still have all the same players then some, minus a couple for wow, then come back to swg because it really was good. BUT that didn't happen because nge and cu now swg is weird. I used to play all the time, but I ain't going to knock it star wars is pretty sweet, but they should have left it the way it was, now there just isn't enough customizing in characters and they cut a bunch of classes that was just dumb.

HAHAHAHA, O MAN!! These articles are so great. Insurance covers medication, when you turn 18 unless you still are enrolled in school or you have a job he wouldn't be able to afford his medicine. 2) he quit taking it, lives with his mom, has depression, quit his job, blah blah... that is NOT video games fault!! example: O gee golly, look at everquest yay (and yes i personally owned/played this game for 2 years) omg so cool, can't quit cybering with these hot elf girls (in rl they are actually 46 yr old dudes). chaper 2, yes! i got got teh uber sword of norrath death lightening +76!! chapter 3, nuuuuuu I lost teh sword!!! *pulls out shotgun and blasts head off* yeah ok everybody out there playing vids, reality check, ding ding come back. quit being morons and quit making the gullible people of this world believe everything they hear/see. good nite |

Second Life: Pugnacious Politics in Second Life
News Discussion « General Discussion 5/19/07 8:02:22 PM
I know, this is rediculous. Can you guys even believe this is happening? Second Life should truly rename to First Life, give it a bunch of real life laws, and have cops bust in your house in real life if you feel like having some pvp. So stupid stupid stupid. |

Second Life: Virtual Cash vs Real Currency
News Discussion « General Discussion 5/19/07 7:01:05 PM
Get a grip on reality? I think you need a reality check thinking Second Life isn't a game. It's on MMORPG.com right? Massive Multiplayer Online 'Game.' Your reply didn't make sense in any way. You might as well just not even follow up.

Second Life: Virtual Cash vs Real Currency
News Discussion « General Discussion 5/19/07 3:15:01 AM
I understand exactly what your saying =D Yes, no matter what kind of transaction, if a credit card is stolen said person should be prosecuted accordingly. As for the currency, my point may be unclear. Anybody can sign up to play second life, thus anybody has equal opportunity to gain lindendollars, depending on how much time is put in or whatnot. So if someone isn't happy selling real life real estate, why don't they just sign up for second life? I mean, I just don't see why you have to tax the players in the real life. If there's hacking or whatever I mean that's illegal, but that's also a different story. True on the car example as well.... so are they just saying they want to patch all the loop holes? Nothing is free? I guess nothing is free. Ebay taxes, paypal taxes.... might as well just tax players. |

Second Life: Virtual Cash vs Real Currency
News Discussion « General Discussion 5/18/07 10:40:11 PM
Define 'fenced.' What your saying is credit card fraud. Taxing people for virtual property doesn't make sense. It IS binary code, period. Doesn't it make enough sense to p2p games? Let alone get taxed by the government? I don't understand your response at all. You can't illegally launder money in a virtual world, it's your money, just like everyone else has their own money. If you give some moron your credit card number whose fault is that? The sale of virtual currency for real life cash is not illegal either. It is only against ToS, thus company can ban your account, blah blah take action. So if we take this to the next level and make it like real life... ummm, so we go to prison for years because we successfully found a way to make real currency via online economies established by players created by corporations/company's that allowed us too? (i.e. second life) Now, the government is realizing that online gaming is becoming very important for our modern age. Millions and millions of people do it everywhere around the world.... whoever is behind this is trying to dip in to this multi-billion dollar industry. Virtual property, and real life property should not be considered alike, it isn't. I guess I can't really input much more, about 4 years ago some kid killed himself over his everquest account, whatever. If they want to destroy let them destroy.

Second Life: Virtual Cash vs Real Currency
News Discussion « General Discussion 5/18/07 8:34:01 PM
I don't even post on this website. I just have a random account just to have one, but I seriously have to put my two cents worth on this one. This is the lamest thing I've ever heard, and whoever proposed this idea is as corrupt as the virtual worlds themselves. People kill people.
EDIT: “Linden Lab and its servers are based in the United States. But when you start to get domains based in Belize and the Congo and such — that’s when it really gets messy.” So what's based in Congo and Belize? Yeah, that's what I thought, nothing. Quit whining about money all you want is your cut, but you won't have it this time. |
