The whole premise of this discussion is highly depressing. The evolution of gamer mindsets in just the last 5 to 10 years reminds how old I've gotten. I've turned into the digital grandad teling anyone who'll listen (and many who won't) about integrity back in his day. /#wristslit |

Originally posted by dadante666 I think you are saying "all fps games will have hackers so what's the point in playing them' and after a recent stint in tribes:asc I can kind of agree but how is this different to any competative game out there. If that's the way you feel then there's going to be very little gameplay on your horizon beyond lan. Unfortunately hackers are here to stay but so long as they make some effort to stop them I will wait and see (granted SOE track record of this in ps1 and more recently dcu - which was pretty much destroyed by hacking for me - is not good). As for the 'don't shine' you need to pop along to yt and check out some vids, that's looking pretty shiny right there. |

'Good'? It's going to be fkin EPIC! |

This is the only f2p game I will play ever. What can I say ps is my weakness and this looks to fkin far ahead of anything else out there. |

Yeah but I went through all of the questions and having spent the time I would like to know the majority opinion of them. |

Don't go by Total Biscuit's completely misinformed review/rant of D3
General Discussion « Diablo 3 5/17/12 12:56:36 PM
It's not a review, also 'Cynical'Brit.... errr what did you expect. But more importantly many of his techinical critisisms are fact. He's not a fan of the genre and says so, he also says 'you don't need a man on the internet to validate your enjoyment of a game'. He's giving his opinion of a game in his mailbox news section, to gamers who over time, either have similar tastes in games or enjoy his rants and take them for what they are. Given this the point of the op smells a hell of a lot like a fanboi qq'ing and blaming completely the wrong person for it. Edit: I just supported tb, I need a shower. |

One of the best "beta"'s I've been in. I didn't have a single hitch at all, not one techincal problem the whole time, no spending a day trying in vain to get in and then half of the next day spamming the login button to get lucky only to get kicked afterwards The only real bug I came across was for the dx11 lighting down by the beach with the blue flame campfire guys, the whole area would go blue intermittantly, light an atmospheric light was bleeding somewhere. My pc is pretty old now (about 5 years) with a gpu and ssd/os update in all that time. I ran dx11 with the option before ultra, with aa max and tes ground&char (or whatever) and ran at 40-60+ fps on ultra it would dip to 30 so no good. I did notice it would over time (5 hours or so) suddenly go to crap, at first I thought it was lag but a restart went right back up again, but I am running win7 on 2gb ram. The game itself was annoyingly exactly what I wanted, the scenery looked absolutely amazing best in any mmo for me. the story the ambiance, it just felt real. Probably the London setting (where I live) was helpful for me. But also Kingmouth is just so believable and engrossing it made such a difference to the gameplay for me. I can't think of anything I didn't like, I didn't even notice the animation thing everyone is going on about. I did notice that towards the end I got a few quests 'out of order' but not really a problem. So it's a fkin shame it has a cash shop because I was hoping I was going to get to cuss the crap out of it and not feel bad for not playing it. Bollox, Funcom and their greedy bastadidgery ways. |

I m tired of the trollness here, adios MMORPG.com
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 5/13/12 12:25:51 AM
Whilst making a leaving post on a public forums is questionable to say the least, I can see his point. Don't get me wrong, personally I'm all for a bit of forum pvp and have no problems even with the trolling of certain posters over certain things, but there are a growing number of posters on the forum who when you look back through their post history you have to question if they have ever played an mmo or even wanted to. There are some incredibly negative posters on every subject when it comes to mmo's but they seem some of the heavier posters on an mmo forum? |

I believe this game would be better as F2P with box sells and item shop
General Discussion « The Secret World 5/11/12 7:06:58 PM
It should just have the box and sub and do away with the "pay to not play my game" mechanic otherwise known as the cash shop. |

Originally posted by remyburke "Not too bad" on the mmorpg forums is as good as it gets. This game doesn't seem to have the devout crowd or fans who have already bought into the game like other games where they could be playing crap and still sing it's praises, so you will get a more balanced view from people with little to no investment of interest (in general, there will always be the odd rabid). The OP is a pretty good assesment imo, I would have given a bit more for voice acting and a little less for the skill system but his critique is solid and I would not add to it but my main pro's and con's would be. Pro: Funcom know how to craft a world, I just can't overpraise the environment here, it's beautiful and fitting. I was pulled in from the get go, I will admit bias as the setting is perfect for my taste. Cons: Unfortunately the beta is very focused so those with concerns over high polish in early game as AOC had, will not have their fear allayed. After playing Tera for a bit recently I will say going back to the tab targeting is not all that pleasant, not game breaking just not as rewarding somehow. I am looking forward to spending a disgusting number of hours on this, this weekend.

Would prefer pretty much any other publisher apart from frogster, absolutely anyone aside from those 2. This is my most anticipated game and has been for such a long while now, I won't say I won't play if nc get it but I deffinately won't be too encouraged and how long would it be before they find a way of shoehorning a p2w mechanic in there. |

So this game requires a specific mindset too? Does that come with the ce or ddl version? Only cynical, jaded mmo'ers don't realise every mmo is enriched while actually playing the game they buy how is this any different to any other mmo. |

Death of the keyboard in mmo's....good or bad..
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 5/06/12 1:17:11 PM
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQR49JGySTM Built with an almagamation of tech. A version of this, only a lot more versatile, I can see taking the place of current input devices, not only for games but everything. All it will take is time and cheaper production costs, once the kids switch over every one else will. Imo people over estimate how entuitive the mouse and keyboard really are because we start from a young age but they aren't really all that effective for what we really want. |
