Skyrim & KOA are both great & fun games although it's my opinion that Bethesda really really sucks at melee combat (looking at you oblivion series & fallout3) ,

KOA at least tries too have fun melee combat

also Bethesda only ever uses 1 color for every game (usually grey). you may call that gritty realism, I call it ugly and un-inspiring.

I have noticed many of these same voices here say the same thing about every MMO out there and, are never happy with anything.

As much as I would like to say "Yes" the problem as I see it is that, no 2 people ever agree on what exactly "RP" is.

You would most likely find the kind of role players that give all role players a bad name, the "RP nazi"

You know the type, the ones that constantly report everyones name that doesnt fit "thier" interpritaion of an in character name

and, typically speak in monty python references. 

And one of my favorite RP pastimes,  using emotes to have epic duels that not even a god could pull off at universal studios.

Only  " I " can decide if $15 a month is a good entertainment value to "me."

To add my 2 cp I would say that for me,  I don't want to play text based video games, I want to play video games with Grafix.

They don't need to be state of the art,  they dont need to be so good I have to buy a new PC.

I can role play in a game with grafix just as good as i can in a mud, just takes a little patience & imagination.

why dont more people do that?  I can't answer that.  All I ever need to RP is other people that want to RP.

It's evolution baby, things progress & change, Muds are still a playable format,   just like you can still read a paper book.

But I say this, when the next  Wheel of Time book comes out & it weighs 6 pounds, screw it,  I will get it on my Kindle that weighs 3 ounces.

there wont be any new ideas anytime soon, games might get better over time but,

the concepts will allways be riding the coat tales of Tolkien & Gigax.

So you make dragons look like big red robot dogs & elves look like aliens & you know what?  its still the same 'ol thing.

Are you still using a super nintendo?   Go buy a xbox 360 or a PS3 and rethink that a bit.  and what MMO requires you to really use more than say 10 buttons at a time anyway? (Typing words does not count)

Entertainment is in the wallet of the subscriber.

I prefer Pay to Play games. I feel like its a better bargain. you are paying for an entertainment service. Its no different than...

paying for cable tv,

netflix,

Hulu,

magazine subscriptions,

a 12 pack of beer after work every day.

pack of smokes every day.

Paying $16 + the price of popcorn at the movies to see some crappy movie with Nick Cage in it.

$3 coffee at starbucks

and dont forget actually paying for your internet access.

anyway, people spend money on what entertains them, its not always the fault of the entertainer that you dont like what's provided. My 2 cents here is that the OP should perhaps consider, stop playing PC games & expecting a free ride & go buy a Wii instead

No, in all honesty, this game isn't even out yet, how can you ask or answer this with any seriousness?

Yes, its called common sense  & big business is afraid to try new things.

That & most of you have yet to figue out that you can in fact plug USB devices into your XBOX. You know things like a KEYBOARD, a MOUSE maybe even EXTERNAL HARD DRIVES.

Also the XBOX does have an MMO, although it's not a very good game. It's called Phantasy star universe.
