[Preview] The War Z: Unpolished, But Addictive
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 11/10/12 7:24:18 PM
The game is fun at first but since the EXP system isn't in yet I kinda get bored. I personally play Normal mode because I'm not a fan of permadeath. I think the plan is to have a 24 hour lockout is a bit much as well, I'd rather have a EXP loss system where you can lose abilities. I know you can make multple characters but if you play with 5 friends you need to know 25 different names and that gets confusing IMO. I just think its a bad business model to keep your customers from using a product if they die.

What's a good no nonsense antivirus these days?
Hardware « General Discussion 11/03/12 11:40:09 AM
I'm a big fan of all Comodo products. I use the firewall/antivirus and Dragon (which is a more secure chrome).. I even use the antivirus on my android made by them. I can't even remember the last time I had a virus, probably mostly due to the fact I know how not to get them in the first place. lol

The War Z: Unlimited Access Begins
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 10/31/12 12:33:59 PM
I still have mixed feelings about the game. The only thing Im not liking is there is little to no positive player interaction with strangers. Just about every video I've seen people don't even try to talk they just kill other players. Yeah its a dog eat dog world but, I'd like to believe not everyone would be murdering jackwagons. I'm sure I'm not the only person out there that would like to group up with friends they've made online. Maybe it would be better to make friends out of game so you can group up. There would still be a chance of getting back stabbed of course which ads to the excitment. I know this isn't a RPG but you can still role play your character, and that aspect is missing in most of the latest MMORPG's.. People jsut kill stuff and don't really get in character which imo is one of the best parts of playing a game where its possible. |

What kind of mmorpg would you create? No swords or dragons allowed

What game would you play, if you could only play one game for next 5 years?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 10/12/12 11:23:43 PM
Probably FFXI, I played it for 3 years. I started off knowing about 10 people in real life who played it and kept on playing for another 2 years with out them. While it wasn't my first MMO its the one I played the longest.

Still possible to purchase/play the game in its current state?
General Discussion « Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn 10/04/12 8:34:30 AM
So you can't re sub until it launches next month? I was just going to re sub just to see how the game was going and I didn't know they were so close to launching 2.0. IDK I haven't found any options to resub in the account manager but when I log in it gives me the option to click play but it crashes the client. Oh well If it does launch next month it will be worth the wait.

why not try forced grouping? Or a mmorpg that focuses more in grouping than soloing
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 10/02/12 10:15:14 PM
I'm going to lay down the stright up truth. Most people do NOT like forced grouping, I like to group up but if a game does not require it the whole time chances are I won't group up unless I have to. If you can solo stuff why spend the time to gather a group right? My fave game is still FFXI because to get levels at a decently quick level you have to group up. I loved that game because parties would last 3 or so hours at the least, not just some 30 minute zerg through a dungeon. Obviously there are enough people playing FFXI to keep it from closing or going F2P, so why isn't there a company making more games like it.. Oh thats right everyone is trying to be the next WoW. FFXIV should have just been an upgraded XI forced grouping and all, I would have been playing it still. Devs need to quit trying to be the next WoW and make a good forced grouping and or quality sandbox game. While they might not make milions upon billions but if they do it right they will make a game that is enjoyable for the few and still make money.
FFXIV didn't fail because it was forced grouping, it failed because people thought it was gonna be like XI but better and it was nothing like XI. I really hope a realm reborn will be a step in the right direction, because I don't see my self playing anything else besides Neverwinter until ArcheAge comes out. |

Inform me why Windows 8 is bad for PC gaming

Oh no it takes a whole second to click on the desktop icon or type desktop and boom your in the old school windows desktop. You got 2 OS's build into one, I personally digg the idea especially for laptops that have a detachable screen which most made for Win 8 will have. |

Inform me why Windows 8 is bad for PC gaming
General Gaming « General Discussion 9/29/12 9:03:44 PM
I have played a few games on win 8 but my cousin has been using it exclusivly for a while now and every game he plays has worked fine.. GW2, WoW blah blah blah, so I'm guessing most games made in tha last 10 years or so would work fine.. People are just bugging out

I played at launch and tried to play a few times later on but never saw enough people to group up with at lower levels. Are there enough low level people to group up a lot?

Mop #1> outsell both gw2 and swtor in 24 hours of release.
General Discussion « World of Warcraft 9/24/12 12:33:02 PM
Good, maybe all the people complaining about how there is no point to GW2 asking where the gear grind is will stop playing and go back to wow and leave people that don't care about those things alone. Its not a big surpise it would outsell GW2 since they have 9 mill or current players. Let people play the game they enjoy.

story and cutscene and vo not future of mmorpg.
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 9/17/12 7:42:48 AM
I've always liked games with cut sceenes for quests. FFXI was my first MMO to have them, no voice over but it was better than reading a scroll that pops up on your screen. The for games with story and cutscenes is to have less quests that take longer to complete not the opposite.

Why just beta weekends and not a beta week?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 6/11/12 3:33:47 AM
Originally posted by sacredfool I don't think people really understanding what im getting at. I'm not wanting a free game I have already preorded the game, I just would like to be able to partake in the beta tests but I don't really play video games on the weekends.I got to play GW2 for 2 hours that I squeezed in. Ok how about this idea then. Companies start holding beta privews that last a week long but as soon as you log in you have 72 hours to play the game. That way everyone can enjoy the game on their own times not be forced to only play on the weekends. My best time to play video games would be Tue - Thursday, that is basically my "Weekend". |
