Your pc is ok, procceser kinda slow like mine b/c VG only recognizes one cpu, not both. Kinda like EQ2. Ram looks good, but upgrade to 8800gt for $150

GF's processer is Great for VG, fast and single. The video card will be a problem. Upgrade to 8800gt for $150 ASAP

Yes. VG is a good game to some.

My wife and I play it becuase WoW and the clones of it just don't fit us.

VG is a system hog, that is one of the reasons it gets some much hate, but with your specs you should see the goregeous world of Telon with good preformance.

when you get the time, open your case and measure the space you have for you PCI-E slot. Then goto Newegg.com or where ever and see the measurments of the card

you won't get  a 8000 in your machine

there is no way a 8800 would fit in your micro tower, to fat and to long

If you must keep your machine, you may try to put more ram in it. But you must have Vista for your cpu to recognize more than 2 gigs

Take your ram with you to Best Buy or if you can, buy from Newegg or Tigerdirect the ram you use.

Your ram stick will tell you what kind it is on the side

Or you can look it up here http://www.4allmemory.com/

ugg, E-Machine

Save and get a new rig is my best advice.

finance one, look in the paper, take a pc tech class at your local community college and build one.

Upgrading a E-Machine..the new parts you would buy is worth more than the machine

I wanted to share my thoughts on vanguard to let people know there is hope for us old school mmo'ers after all.  Let me first start with a bit of background:  I started playing online mmo's along time ago with Ultima Online, staying there for 6 years.  Those were some great times online-of which Ive searched long and hard to repeat.  From UO I went to Guild Wars (6 months there) to WoW ( 2 years)  to LotRO beta only (just a month)to Eve Online (1.5 years) to recently Pirates of the Burning Sea (about 4 months).  I enjoyed them all but as you can see my interest in them never had the staying power that I found in UO, until now.

I wasnt happy in Pirates so figured it was time to once again begin my search for a new MMO.  Frankly I had strayed from the fantasy line a few years before and since that detour never thought I could get back into a fantasy game after spending numerous years in them.  But with all the hype these days centering around AoC and soon to be released Warhammer its hard keep a blind eye to the fantasy games.  So I started my research into AoC, lineage, warhammer, Vanguard, plus a couple others.  For reasons not worth posting here (as they are the same reasons many have complained about in thier respective forums) I wasnt too keen on AoC or waiting on warhammer.  So Vanguard seemed like a good choice.

Took me a few stops to find the game box for purchase which sort of suprised me cause I remember that box being everywhere when it was released.  Got home and proceeded the 3 hour download.  Some have said it to be longer for them so 3 hours I was happy with.  After the download I sparked up the icon and boom was ingame.   Have to say initially I was pretty disappointed in the avatars as they just didnt look like what I was expecting.  Bodies didnt look proportionate no matter how much manipulation was done but no biggie.  I remember WoW and seeing those cartoon network avatars and flipping out then as well.  Entered the game and wow-was it friggin dark!  I had the misfortune of entering the world at nite time and couldnt see a dam thing.  But none the less strived forward-played around with a few of the race and adventuring paths a bit, finally settling on a ranger.   Did the normal thing of questing-checking out the environment-fighting and what not.  I started to grow more comfortable with things and learne some crafting, making armor and goods.  Then I realized this is one heck of a game.  I was so emersed into the world that I hadnt taken a step back to assess whether I liked it or not.  Of course-once I did-I realized this game is really amazing.  Total freedom in everything.  Do what you want - when you want.  Quest or dont, no matter.  Crafting was simply unparralleled to any other game I had played.  The community is extremely friendly and even had one person send me a bow in the mail just cause I had asked a newbie question and he thought I might make use of it.  Cant beat that-anywhere.  Im back to what a game use to be for me.  Fun.  Not a race.  Just pure fun.  I have yet to 'Grind' anything.  Rather I pick a direction and head out, searching for whatever may be of interest along the way.  Its so relaxing to even find nothing and just enjoy the beautiful environment and if I want to go left for 10 clicks then I do it.  No invisible walls.  And no running into an enemy camp of npc's that have 20 other players there farming.  When Im online Im in MY WORLD.  My land, my town.  Its what mmo's use to be about and unfortunetly many strayed from never to return.  Im so incredibly happy with Vanguard I just cant say enough.  Id recommend this game to just about anyone who might be looking for something that they just havent been able to find in other games.  Its an amazing world with great mechanics and has alot to offer for the crafter, adventurer, soloist, raider, and role-player.

I look forward to many many hours in Vanguard and hope this review is the determining factor for those that may be wishy washy or who are still searching as I once was.  Give vanguard a chance and I doubt you will be dissappointed.  Like I said-Ive finally found a game I can completely enjoy again after many years of searching.  Thanks VG-looking forward to a long relationship and lots of good times to come.

/agree

I used to be a VG hater because of the let down Sigil gave us

After Sony has done some work on the game, and still is, I do enjoy it now.

But to the WoW and AoChildren, they can't appreicate a truley potential game.

From what I hear, older games like EQ2 and VG only take advantage of a single cpu. So even if you had 4 processers, only one is reccognized.

But with your card, I don't see why you can't crank it up.

Then again I am no techy

My rig is some what new and I can only run medium settings on EQ2

I have a 64 bit computer OC quad core and 8 gigs of DDR3 ram with 1k  psu with like 4 SLI 9800

The game looks like a flawless morning cartoon.

Even the once a minute loading time only last for a tenth of a second, I can barley see them

LOL, no my pc is junk, can't upgrade untill I get my taxes back

Then I will wander Hybornia
