2. The content of WAR is very limited. You conquer the keeps, you conquer the cities. 10 times, 20 times, 30 times and then what? What are the guildies aiming for? Recognition on the web (like PVE progression in Wow). RvR was played and ended dead 3 years ago with the demise of DAoC.

Why should reconquering the things you conquered already 40 times be playble past 3 months playing?

3. WotLK will have air battles, sea battles, landing invasions. Not forgetting the team manned tanks which just don't exist in WAR. The whole end zone PVP in WotLK is complete open world - no restrictions. Even parts of the city fights in WAR are instanced.

Not even talking of the newly showed D-Day landings in WotLK.

So with more options -  from mounted combat to air fights - tell me WotLK isn't showing a lot more.

4. Arena is a terrfic development tool for Blizzard. The fine tunement of its classes nowadays can be compared with pure MMO science. Everything is analysed up to .001% in the millions of competitve arena fights. It allows Blizzard to balance the game better than ever before.

I don't need to show the unbalance in classes DAoC had. With 20 WAR classes the game just will not be balanced in the beginning. Leading to very frustrated playings.

5. WotLK is already assured of 5 million copies. Everyone and his cat will play with his/her friends to progress in the best polished MMORPG. No one is going to leave it, because your friends in RL will be playing it.

And ... most importantly when you are fed up of having your head turned in for the 213 th time in Wow you still have a massively PVE content, a LOT more professions, a LOT more content, and a PVP e-sports game with price money that doesn't even exist in other PvP MMORPG games.

So CHOICES of play is the 6th reason why PvP WotLK will win easely.

I am running Vista 32 bit.

I have a 9800gtx

When I run a dxd test or any other test, it recognizes my video card, but says that I am using intergrated graphic, notably a lot higher than the 512 memory that is on my card

Is this a Vista thing? I know on XP, and all OS before, it would say , (example) Video 8800gt with 512 ram.

That is not what Vista is telling me, ....says I am using intergrated.

I can't figure it out

I am not sure what is going on. I tried serveral single player games, crysis and bioshock  can run on high settings (not highest). So I guess I am OK with that

Your system should run it fine on max settings.  It might be that what you are calling chop is stuff that we just ignore.  The people that play the game normally call this hitching.  This is something that happens in new areas which has something to do with texture caching.  It is basically your computer doing a lot of dis I/O.  This occurs in game and usually only happens in new areas and only for a few seconds then then it clears up and everything should smooth out.

Ethion I think I know what your are talking about, like when you zone and your torch goes out and things get stop for a few seconds

 What I am experiencing is standing in one spot out in the wild and turning my characotor to the left or right and it "stutters" or "chops' ..kinda like slide show type thing but faster.

I am a total noob at Vista. I have used XP for years now and Vista is sooo differnt to me.

How do I tell SP1 Vista? Sorry if I sound like a total noob but I am stil trying to figure out basic things in Vista that have changed from XP. I know for some its simple but I am not the brightest crayon in the box.

You probally know this but, vista 32bit only uses about 3 gigs of ram, still more than enough for high settings.

I have half the system you do and i play on low settings at  1680x1050 with about 40fps (hit ctrl p to show fps).Sounds strange but maybe your monitor cant handle it.Your running the game with at 4:3, is your monitor old, i ask this because i noticed a lot of new monitors are 16:9.

One more thing, is this a fresh install of vista?

edit: Dont get more ram, you have more than enough. Alt tab out of Vanguard and do a ctrl/alt/del and check how much ram your system is using

  TYSVM everyone for the help. I almost went to be crying last night because I thought I would finnally be able to play VG on good settings with good perfomance.  I was at a loss. Really need you all's input TY!!

My drivers won't update to the newest release. I get a error message saying that I don't have vista 32, and I do, so i have to go back to old drivers.

And I only have 4 gigs of ram. May get some more. idk.

I am really debating on going back to XP pro but i don't want to give up hope yet.

I got AMD quad core, 9800 GTX and 4gigs of ram running on Vista 32 bit.

I can only run on balanced settings with no chop.

I do run on 1400 x 900 full screen mode.

....I was kinda hoping for more

 Any help guys n' gals? am I doing some thing wrong?

I totally disagree with you on this.  I love EQ2s interface.  It is so customizeable compared to TR, AOC, VG,.   EQ2s interface is the best interface I have ever played on that came stock in an MMO.

I have to agree with Smile. EQ2's interface is the most customizable there is. You can move everthing or hid everything.
 

But back to topic, EQ2 is still strong. Crushbone, Anotino Bayle and the PvP server are full all the time.

I actually got friends who left WoW for AoC, didn't like what they found and went to EQ2

I believe trolling of Age of Conan is coming out of style so the trolls will go back to previous games untill WAR or WotLK comes.

But to pass the time, I will say to the OP what are your computer specs? a cleaned up pc from Goodwill or the Salvation Army runs WoW just fine. Not the case with VG. You need a fast single cpu because I don't believe the engine recongnized more than one cpu. So around 3g needed on cpu.

Video card. If your video card is not a 8800 512GT or better or 9 series of Nvidea, forget it.  If you run ATI, the cards are slow and you need the newer 4850. Why? AMD recently bought ATI and the new technology is gonna give Nvidea a run for it's money, which is the 4850 and better.

Memory? 4gig

PSU? at least 600watt

I am no techy, and I know some will disagree or correct me, (which is welcome =) But if you don't have the rig, play WoW instead.

I like VG myself. I hated it at first like everyone else but after being burnt out on WoW, VG give a breath of fresh air

I have only had two ATI cards, the 1600 and 1650, both was OK, but I am looking to go back to Nvidea.

I was looking into getting a 9800.

However I did see that it requires a 450 wat power supply, my rigg will have 500 watts.

Does this mean that only 50 watts will be left to rest of the computer's functions?

Advice or suggestions please, I can't go over 500 watts on my psu
