Just thought i would mention this but in the beginning of the movie two kids are "playing" Stargate Worlds for a brief moment. It is however apparent that this only a movie since one of the guys holds his hands up in the air while his character still keeps running. They also mention World of Warcraft. |

Originally posted by DL_Arkane I stand corrected and i see your point about all the problems. They are some major issues that needs to be addressed yes. Right now, all though the problems and bugs, i really aim to get to level 80. I still enjoy the game and hope they set straight most of these major issues. I really would like to see "enhanced" PvP, maybe as massive battles as advertised, maybe as "battleground" similar options - just anything that will let me play PvP in larger groups against other ppl. Thanks! |

I see this kind of reactions everywhere. People, like the most of you who are upset, need to vent it onto others. That's normal i guess since we all do it. I just love the posts where people write that they quit the game for whatever reason. They feel compelled to let everyone else know that they did just that, what they think is wrong with the game (which is great but really has no effect) and in the end they are the once ending up looking like the fool. I'm not saying that you people shouldn't share your thoughts or concerns for any topic, but seriously, which MMO or almost any other game out there had zero problems at its release? I'm not a "fanboi" (or troll for that matter) because that implies so much more. I enjoy the game, yes. It has problems, annoying bugs and what not... YES! But when it comes to game play, animations, graphics, player control and a lot of other things - the game is the first MMO to capture my interest since WoW and before that, SWG. Everyone says AoC is such a let down but in the end, they all seem to base it on all the current bugs and problems. It will get better, give it some time. As for PvP... the game does have a lack of it yes which might be a main issue for some of you. But if we compare it to let's say WoW, they too started of with world-pvp which almost disappear when the battlegrounds arrived. Battlegrounds in my opinion are great fun and is something i really miss. In SWG we had these large PvP areas - great fun too. |

Because this means one of several things: 1. You really, truly, do not like the game for some reason only you are privileged to. To me this is odd because there are so many other games out there - mmo, pc or console based - that suck even worse than AoC. You feel a need to let the world know why this game is bad, and you do just that by flaming everyone related to it. 2. AoC is surprisingly good and is a real threat to your favorite game - may it be WoW, LoTRO, Everquest, GW or what ever - so you feel forced to try and push it down into the ground. You need for people not to like AoC so they can continue playing your favorite instead. 3. You simply do not care about the game one way or another but you love to indulge yourself in the spirit of forum posting. You love hacking down on games just to create a reaction. Maybe there are more, sure there are, but i might be close to one of which that you represent am i not? Ladies and gentlemen, start you flaming!! |

Hey the game looks great so far! Not particularly fond of the animations though, it looks like the characters are floating more than running across the surfaces. Well done animations are key in any game. |

First and for always... Star Wars Galaxies! The one game to rule them all... Nothing compared to it, nothing ever will until the second installment is released. Please let it be sooner than later. |

You base your statistics on people using Xfire?!? Makes we wonder how many other that are playing - not using this program. I have never used it, not sure what it does or what it is good for so this doesn't say jack... |

Something really got me thinking since I really used to love the old time SWG and especially the excellent crafting. So how come, after so long and with so many new MMO releases, not a single one of those has made the same sophisticated, flexible, in depth and fun crafting like the one featured in SWG? Is it that crafting isn't requested by todays players or is that the developers choose to put their efforts into other aspects of their MMOs? I love crafting in a game, especially when you have to put some effort in it, and the more you do - the better the items you produce. That's the way crafting should be! Not that there is only one way to make an item, but rather that you can make different qualities of the same item depending upon your resources and your skill. Bring into life SWG style crafting... please! |

I won't lie to you guys, the game still has its problems which will hopefully me solved within the next few weeks. What surprises me the most is that new patches come like once a week... at this stage i would have thought they should have one update per day? |

Let me start of by saying that i have played 20+ or so MMOs since 2003. They all lacked something that eventually kept me from continuing playing. To this date i have two favorites - SWG and WoW. Now, i didn't know what to expect from Conan but i went ahead and pre-ordered it anyway. I am still playing and i am still interested in the game... this is good thing if you ask me. I usually feel right away if the game is for me. If for example the UI isn't thought out or the animations lack feeling or if the characters aren't well made, i pretty much drop it. I'm not much of a story/lore guy but i do pay attention to everything else surrounding the game. So i was happy to find that AoC actually is pretty well put together. So, my point being this. I read a lot on this forum about people complaining about Age of Conan and other praising it. Other peoples opinions are important, sure. But not as important as making up your own mind. If your interested in the game... buy it! If not, then try something else that has peaked your curiosity. |

I started off with a Barbarian which i played to level 10 - great fun. Wanted to try some other classes before i settle in with one so i went for Tempest of Set. This one was different but still fun to play and i stopped at level 12. I went for another spin, this time with a Guardian. The first thing i noticed was that i was really plowing through the enemies and it felt much quicker to gain in level. I guess the Guardian is both stronger and hit harder but i am currently only level 9 so it is to early to say anything... except that i might stick with this one. |

Melee combat is the single most refreshing aspect of AoC. It is simply fantastic because everything my avatar does is what i tell him to do. Also, the animations are really good. They make it feel that there is some weight into the swings they perform and i am glad to see that this worked out. My toon has a great "presence" if you will... I have seen a countless number of MMOs that flat out fails with the animations, thus destroying the overall feeling. This along with everything else so far has really peaked my interest for the game so i will continue for now. We will see for how long though. |

But i do love the way you fight in the game, excellent and yet hard to control your character at the same time. Guess i'll have to get used to it, well... more gaming for me then. |

This one bothers me a bit, that i can't seem to exit to the character selection screen. I wanted to reserve some names but every time i had to exit the game completely... very annoying! |
