I can't believe this game is not ranked in top 5
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 5/20/13 7:01:22 PM
Will say I thought the trailer was pretty amazing when I first saw it and I still do, but that's all we have to go off of. No lore, no class info, no empty promises of what they hope to be. I want to be hyped for this game, but until it hits Beta I'm not so sure I can.

Why do people buy founders/lifetime memberships?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 5/20/13 5:49:08 AM
The way I see it Founder Packs are like Collector's Editions with the exception that the buyer doesn't get any real life merchandise. Also if you do it right you can generally get more value out of the Founder Pack on some games.

Either this guy is a really bad troll or he has a very skewed idea of what Free to Play is. I also think they need to take some more English classes. Maybe learn the difference between to and too...

Acceptable and Unacceptable Cash Shop Items
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 4/21/13 6:36:08 PM
Originally posted by jalexbrown Well I put most of my opinions up there in red with the exception of Instant level-ups and housing. Instant level-ups - Most of the game content involves leveling up. If you went from lvl 1 to max level uisng one of these it'd be very difficult to gear up since you'd have no money. Not to mention "End Game" content tends to be lacking in most MMOs so devs would only really be shooting themselves in the foot if they added this. And what about when the level cap increases? Housing - If there's housing in the game I think everyone should have access to it else potential players might be turned away from the game. Instead I think unique furnature would be ok. |

I don't see why having ads IN the game that fit -- like on billboards or posters on the side of a building -- wouldn't work for some games. Obviously they probably wouldn't work very well for fantasy type games, but post apocalyptic, futuristic, or racing games I think they could and devs wouldn't have to come up with fake ads to fill in those spots. It's win/win.

I can't get enough of this game Currently using Ash with Gram as my "primary" weapon. My Gram is to the point I can 1-2 shot just about any mob either with quick or charged attacks =D However those Toxic infected are a bit of a problem for me since the two ranged weapons I'm focused on leveling right now are either too slow or too weak... |

Will you buy FF:XIV once it's released, if you haven't played it?
General Discussion « Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn 2/23/13 9:03:54 AM
If I bought FFXIV Will I have to rebuy FXIV:ARR? Will I lose my pre-order items from FFXIV? Is there an FAQ somewhere that I over looked with all these questions already answered?

Does it bother you to see someone with an "exclusive" item via cross-promotion, pre-order, etc?

It makes me mad that I wasn't able to goto said convention and get said item, but the fact that they have it and I don't because they went and I didn't doesn't bother me. A tad off topic, but what does bother me is when I pre-order something or get the collector's edition of something for a unique item and then the company starts selling said item in their cash shop or sells a special upgrade to upgrade your standard edition account to a collector's edition account (granted this upgrade doesn't bother me as much since most physical collector's edition come with physical collector items which the upgrade doesn't grant).
I mean if you want pre-order and/or collector's edition items then pre-order it. Don't give me this crap "Oh I can't afford it" I can't typically afford to drop $150 down straight on a CE so instead I pre-order it as soon as I can and pay a little at a time up until release which is how I've gotten all the CE games I have now. |

Ragnarok Online: Ninjas Get Second Class Evolution

Funny I was playing RO2 just last week. Sure it was on the SEA servers, but it's still available. Not to mention Gravity has said there are plans to release an official US server as well. As for the grapihcs, it kinda looks like they took the 2D sprites and made them 3D so it's the really cutsy, Anime styled 3D graphics. Not impressive when compaired to most of today's games, but not terrible. |

I haven't read all the replies so I don't know if anyone touched on what I'm about to say or not. It's simply because D3 was marketed as a Single Player or Multiplayer game and no one saw the point in having to login -- and deal with login issues -- to play Single Player. PoE on the other hand markets itself as a MMO -- though some would disagree due to all the instancing like Guild Wars -- and thus no one has an issue with logging in to play since that's typically what you do to play a MMO.

Looking for a F2P game with good roleplay element
LFGame « General Discussion 1/20/13 5:21:08 PM
You should at the very least upgrade your RAM and Hard Drive neither of which are that expensive. As it is I don't think there are many games that will meet all your requirments.

Anyone have a good suggestion of a replacement free to play game?
LFGame « General Discussion 1/09/13 10:54:06 PM
While I can't really say much on the customization of TERA, it's going F2P in February and has pretty good PvP imo has PVP/PK servers and non PVP/PK servers. Not sure what you mean by PvP dungeons, but TERA has dungeons that can only be completed with a party. Can't really say the graphics are realistic, but they're similar to PWI. It's fantasy based. Currently the only things in the cash shop are cosmetic items and the usual gender change, race change, reset stuff. Haven't played TERA in a while so I don't know what the community is currently like, but come February I'm sure it'll grow. It's about as much as a grind as you would expect from a Korean MMO, but it's fun.

You do know that Razer didn't decide on the specs of this tablet by themselves right? Not completely anyways. They provided choices to their FB fans and their FB fans chose what the fans wanted and Razer built these tablets around those choices. Granted I agree the 64Gb SSD in the base model is a bit... small...
*edit* Just looked at the website and I'll admit when I first saw the project I figured the controlers would come with the Tablet. Well initially I think they intended for the controlers to be fixed, but a lot of fans requested detatcable controlers. Guess Razer decided to cash in on that request... |

Any MMORPG that has good fighting?

Originally posted by mrbreck So you're telling me that DCUO doesn't use Hotbars? Guess you don't really play that either since every screen shot I've seen that has the UI displayed there's a hotbar down at the bottom of the screen. So how's DCUO's combat any different from the "standard hotbar combat" that you claim TERA and the like are? Have you even fully played TERA? There's nothing standard about its combat. To be really effective you have to be able to combo your standard combo attack into your skills which then have very spicific other skills they'll combo into to maximize your damage if you're using the right Glyphs. |
