Solo content and no level based system!

Just like Tabula Rasa and most other "new" mmo's Aion is just another "Grind-Fest", anytime any of these so called "new" mmo's are released and you have to acheive X level before you can do anything else OR even consider having fun OR having to spend countless hours "leveling" while killing the same type of mobs or repeating the same process over and over again just to keep up with friends in order to stay grouped YOU have successfully defined "Grind-Fest"

nuf-said!

Sincerely I dont understand why so much hate! The bashing, trolling and insults to this game in this Forum is much highrer than in other games. The game is not a 10 of course, but isn´t bad either! It´s rather a good game, well balanced, few bugs and some interesting innovations and with great potential for the future. I´m enjoying very much playing this game. I started in the last weeks of Beta and couldn´t stop! I think one of the reasons of so much hate were the higher expectations for this game and when the early Beta started and the amount of bugs and few contents made lots of people flee from the game. But it was normal! It was an early Beta!! The bashing was very loud and continued even when the game was released and the major problems were solved. Great reviews, people telling that they didn´t liked  in the Beta phase but now were having a blast playing it, fresh MMO´s players saying that they love this game, MMO veterans saying that this game is very good, nothing can´t stop this guys from bashing the game and stop saying "this game sucks"! Some didn´t even played the game since early Beta (June/July), others intend to draw TR players for other games (Neocron,HGL,SWG,etc...) and the majority are simpletons...Trolls! They are having fewer and fewer arguments but they don´t shut up! First were the bugs(it was a BETA), then it was the "shalow content"(again...it was a BETA), then was the poor graphics( how about having a better PC?), then the gameplay (it is diferent, like a FPS/RPG ,maybe is too diferent for people that are always demanding innovation but can´t see innovation even if  it bites you in the...) one topic even said that the game was too fast!! I dont understand this behaviour! When I don´t like one game I just ignore him, even when I have high hopes and in the end the game isn´t what I hoped for (like HGL). But this people (or children) maybe don´t have a life and have plenty time to spare in futility. So, starting now, I will ignore any topic that attacks this game, I´m just sick of it! I will only post on topics that talk about something positive about this game or questions about TR.

two words .. "Grind" .. "Fest"

End game...

I was wondering what the end game of tabula rasa was like are there raids/instances? how much of the game is based on equipment and armour? as i like trying to get the best armour and doing raids in big groups. So i was just wondering if this game would be good fro me. Iv'e been looking at it for a while and i like the look of it alot but the computer i have at the moment isn't good enough to run it so im getting a new one for Xmas i was wondering wether to carry on LOTRO or start a new on tabula rasa.

Stick to LoTR and wait a few months, TR as it stands is nothing more than an empty level grind fest with very repetative missions.

Awesome.  I was really skeptical after playing the beta early on, but a lot of my fears have been eliminated.  Combat is a blast, movement and animation is great, the feeling of being in the middle of a war is felt everywhere (well, at least up till level 5 lol)

So, I'm glad I didnt listen to the nay sayers, because I'm having a real good time so far, I dont even feel the need to level quickly as in every other mmo i've played, and thats refreshing.

Come back in a few weeks after you continue to rinse and repeat the same mission types over every map/zone you visit, not to mention the HUGE crowd of "Rambo" wanna-be's which will just make your day im sure!

Oh and did i mention, once you mention the word "level" in reguards to acheiving something ingame you have auto[magically] turned over to the never ending "Level Grind Fest".

Good luck shoting over and over and over again just to gain that extra level that doesnt offer anything new.

First - there is nothing 'revolutionary' about TR. The Logos system *might* have been revolutionary, but it got watered down and became nothing more than a 'find-the-easter-egg' hunt in order to enable abilities

Second - what '(in-game) universal goal'? There isn't one beyond hitting level cap, rolling another toon, and starting over again.

Sorry, while TR did hold promise of ground-breaking revolution, it delivered WoW with guns

nothing new here at all

My same feeling as well and i agree 100% nothing new except a masked level grind behind an FPS engine.

Its really sad, i was really looking forward to TR, i was hoping the game was going to be the nextgen of MMOFPS, its too bad they have masked most of the game as nothing more than a level grind fest with mission repetition from map to map and only a few distictive mobs.

Its my humble opinion TR would have been much more enjoyable had their core skill system been based soley on skill rather than level. A Skill based system would have made this game much more interesting rather than the standard run-of-the-mill level grind thats currently TR.

Its a shame a game like TR with the name of RG behind it and its core engine isnt even has good as the original UltimaOnline.

Oh well, good luck to those that enjoy level grinding as TR offeres nothing new!

most of the review is great, but i have to agree, when you begin, it is hard to pvp effectively agains older player because skills are real time based.

When you first begin, yes. But it's a misconception that you can never match someone who's played longer than you. This isn't a level-based game. Just because someone has 10 million more skillpoints than you, it doesn't mean they're invincible to your attacks. A person's abilities is dictated by what ship and modules they're currently using. Skills only add small percentages and allow you to use more modules but they are not uber-powerful style buffs.

Id also like to add that everything is achievable, so lets take WoW as an example there is no way me being a casual player after 6-12 months of play and gaining level 60 able to compete against a player thats fully Tier 3 EPIC gear and belongs to a Tier 2-3 guild! i WILL NEVER see that gear. Now as for Eve-Online its a matter of time, remember there are ONLY 5 levels per catagory thus no matter how long the player has been in Eve-Online about all they will TRUELY have over you (aside from ingame skill/knowledge of PvP) is variety either way he will ONLY have Frigate 5 and all related skills for Frigate as 5 which is attainable by ANYONE over time.

I hope i made my point, im not very good expressing my self on forums.

Good luck with the grind. Let me know when if you even make it to 40, then tell me what you think when you find your self killing over 10,000 mobs over and over again just to get a level.

I just got an L3 mission that made me blow up a battleship. The only way I could beat it was to hit him with 4 large Notos smartbombs, fly to base, cheat up my cap, go back and do it again. 11 trips later, I blew ut up.

Word to the wise. Stay on L1 missions. The time required to do L3 negates any possibile advantage.

This is a one time event. I am hoping things aren't this psycho all the time but if it ha[[ens again, L3 can be scratched off as forced group content.

This sucks.

Although im not 100% what your trying to express here, the part i did understand is you lost a BS in a level 3 mission, that being the case its not that you got a level 3 mission and IT made your BS get blown up, its perhaps the fact that you most likely didnt have your BS properly fitted for said mission. Take the time to learn the game mechanics, take the time to learn about your mission BEFORE you actually warp to it, Take the time to properly fit your ship for the mission at hand. Please dont just say "This Sucks" when its clear you had no clue what you got into.

just my .02ISK

So i finally took a chance and gave the game a go. To be honest i didnt enjoy my self at all. Its hands down the worst MMO for the price. Im still not sure why they charge a full fee for a digital download compared to the fee of a store bought game.

Anyhow good luck for those of you that stick to it, however for a game thats been "in development" for over a year it sure feels like my 2 year old coded it.
