In reality these topics are not needed, one of the last things i want to see in the game is Vet players. I prefer the new crowd that is coming in now, they don't whine as much as returning vets and it is allways nice to be playing with noobs and helping them on their way.

I stopped reading there.

If you cannot spell the word 'always' I am pretty much not interested in anything you have to say.

Here some i triped over now but i can't realy decide.

Dawn of Magic
Mage Knight Apocalypse
World of chaos
Silverfall

Well if you can suggest any rpg that's fun for many hours and has stunning graphics let me know it.

Those are all crap,

Try Oblivion, NWN2 (the single player campaign is fun enough and not buggy).

Or, if you are a Star Wars fan, or even if you are not, Knights of the Old Republic (one and two) are great games.

This is yet another attemp by First National to get people ages 17-24 endebted to them for prolonged periods of time by offering 'Free Money'.

I am highly disappointed in Blizzard for agreeing to this deal.  Though I cannot say that I am shocked.  People have made comments about other game companies like SoE and K2 Network being money grubbing, but neither of those companies have stooped so low as to work with a company that is being banned on college campuses all across the country for approve lines of credit and loans to individuals who have NO WAY of paying them back.

At least when they work with companies like Disney and Fox, they are distinctly adverting to the parents, but here, parents will rarely if ever see these adveritsments.  They are designed to put Young Adults in debt.  This is unbelievable.

So, when the game goes live you plug your key in and you will have 10k vis at your disposal ^^. Hope this information helps you guys. /salute

Link or it didn't happen.

K2 has been VERY hush hush about their beta details.  Until I see it from K2 it didn't happen.

As for your post (which was not as inflamatory as your topic) that is pretty much the 1-2-3s of it.  I ended up paying the full $20 for it when I pre-ordered.  I have no doubt in my mind that this is my next game (after WoW).

Having played the SG beta, the idea that people just 'solo' through the game is quite faulty.  Monster's difficultly levels just like in Final Fantasy XI.  At about level 40 you will want to start partying with others to advance.

To the poster who asked about squad loot.  Looting works pretty much the same way as WoW.  There are different loot modes and you can obtain loot in many different ways.

After I posted I felt like an idiot... cuz I realized that was probably what you were talking about.  lol.

I know K2 did one in person event in Brazil... but that was like 2 years ago lol.  But we'll see.  They seem to be really open with trying new things and responding to the community.

Actually, I have played another one of K2N's games Global MU Online and they have daily events, and weekly events.  You can always find a GM in game to talk to and they really help to break up the monotany of the game (its one of the main reasons I still play).  And with GMO K2N serves every non-asian country except the Phillipines.

As for GL's post, I agree.  I will probablly only play the K2 version because their servers will be here in the US.  I had a lot of lag when I was playing on the IAH servers (not really their fault).  Either way, K2 has always done right by me and it seems they are trying to work very hard to make this game a big success.

That and K2-Neume has the best yo mama jokes lol.

Hey, GL, we all know know that you are GE's fanboy. But stop talkin' some nonsence. You want to say, that K2 isn't being ruled by lowly mercantile thoughts?.. No, that can't really be. Why? Because that subscribing type is just outrageous! 10$ or 15$ - there is not much diffirence. I don't think that I'm ultra-rich guy, but heck, I CAN afford to pay 15$\month for a couple of mmos. Not to mention, that internet alone costs me 30$\month and I can download only 2 gigs for those 30$, all that is above those 2 gigs - I'm paying extra for every single MB (yes, inet providers are diffirent in my country). And I still can afford this, but IF the game worth it. Yes, I like GE alot, but i don't like, when people take me for idiot. Why the heck should I pay monthly fee not quite significantly lower than other games and STILL don't get all the game has? What do I pay every month for? It's obvious that this subcribing type made for one clear reason - tu pump out more money. They like the idea of Cash Shops? Fine! But let me play free than, tough I want have all the features, that is quite normal. Or make another option - let me pay 15$ or 20$\ month and give me ALL the stuff from the CS. Why not, huh?.. I tell you why - they just want money. Customize for 6$ and play? Don't you yourself think it's not quite truth?.. They wouldn't create this idiotic pricing system if they don't hope to earn more than 15$. Much more. So I'll gladly pay 15$ not to feel myself "limited" in the game. But what they did - it's just dirty and cheap trick. NO respect at all to K2. If these guys think, that they can ask for more money, than, for example, Blizzard asks for WoW, and do such shitty job in the process - that's their right. But I'll not allow those leechers to make idiot out of me and I hope GE will soon fail as a franchise in the west. That will be a good lesson...

1. You're an idiot.  Please learn english and come back with a post that makes sense.

2. People are freaking out about nothing.  We have NO IDEA WHAT IS GOING TO BE IN THE ITEM SHOP.  For all we know they may just have additional costumes that you CAN get in game.  The shop then would only be to allow people to customize characters that they want to keep but don't want to spend time making or finding the items in game.

3. Its nice to know that a rich guy like you can afford to pay for 92386549742698756247 mmos a month.  The fact still remains that for a AAA title like GE $9 is hella cheap.

I for one am going to give K2 some rope and hope they don' t hang themselves with it.

Honestly,

NOTE: I only read the title of this thread.

Yesterday i reinstated my subscription to Vanguard.  I had canceled after originally purchasing the horrid piece of crap it is.

Anyway, since I initially canceled my account I have gone out and bought about $1000 worth of equippment for my pc.  It now has:

2Gigs of ram

NVidia 8800 512k vcard

P4 3.2 HT

New AsRock motherboard

Audioblaster 5.1 scard.

I logged in last night (thinking my new system should be able to handle this game with ease) and ON THE LOWEST SETTING I GOT NOTHING BUT SLOW DOWN!!!!

I cannot even play the game to assess how good or bad it is.  WTF?!?!?!?  If you ask me SOE will NEVER get my money again.  I was dumb enough to go back on my word on that after SWG.  But never again.  Sigil and SOE are FIRMLY placed on my F*** U list.

I still want my $65 back.

2 things.

1. I hate point and click

2. This game is point and click, but it kind of fits the genre.  This game is much more like a RTS.  Im not sure how WASD would work (although, I could think of a couple of things :D).  Anyway, it is a good game and if you are letting P&C stop you from playing you're an idiot.

Well, I fully intend to be p2p.  I dislike F2P games and I was very happy to hear that this wouldn't be a ffa f2p game.  At least that way I won't be annoyed by 80000 13 year old kid's who can't afford to pay for the game (see GW).

There is nothing wrong with not paying to play a game, but it just seems that most of the people who do not pay2play either cheat somehow, hack, or are not good contributions to the community.

As for the pre-order.  I thought the same thing, but then I realized, it is gonna to take like 3 days tops to get to level 20.  So, I can still pick up the box and just not use it until I need to when I hit 20.

I am still hyped about the game.  If the SG version ends up being F2P, I don't think I will go back to it.

It actually has a leveling curve very close to World of Warcraft.  Also, it is quest driven like GW.  I think the biggest thing it has to offer that no other MMO does is the fact that you can control 3 characters at once.

GW has the Hero system, but with Sword you can actually get behind the wheels of one or all 3 characters and control everything they do.  It also has a very intelligent AI, if you don't like to micro-manage.

There is also Faction Wars were you can take control of a zone and get buffs for having it.  As well as cool PvP rankings and no need for healers.  NO MORE WAITING FOR A HEALER TO RUN AN INSTANCE!!!

Ok... I am a 'little' excited about this title. hehe.  You should check out the website.  Its hotness!  www.swordofthenewworld.com

for those that do not already know, we are all in the new Sword forums chatting it up.

Their community manager Melisande is REALLY cool.  So is the senior gm Neume.  I think this game is going to be a lot of fun.  Can't wait for the beta to start.

Also, they updated the faq and anwsered some interesting questions like whether it will be f2p (no but there will be a free trial to level 20).  And other stuff.

Oh and you are guaranteed a spot in the beta if you pre-order.  Which I have already done.  Sounds good!

Whoa... the post was updated.  Someone actually awnsered the million dollar questions:

Why the name change

and

Will we be able to play with SG players.

One question missing...

Will there be an IP block?

Thanks MMORPG for asking the first two and getting an anwser :).

and finally, I'll probably play on both. the Singapore version first, since the NA/EU version won't be here untill summer.

What this guy said ^^

Also, I don't think there has been an 'official' final word on the IP block.  The SG team still contends that there will not be one.  And K2 hasn't said anything about it (it's sad that MMORPG.com didn't ask them about it).

If someone has new info (with a link) on that subject I would love to know

Granado Espada has had tremendous success in the Asian Market. Can you tell us the reaction you have had from players in the U.S.?

Phil Maurer:

So far our focus groups have shown incredibly positive response to Sword of the New World. The game play is fast and fun, and the graphics make people want to keep exploring to see what is in the next area. In fact we have had some problems with how much fun the game is. We are currently doing in house testing and more then a few of our support staff was staying up late playing sword and not sleeping, we ended up having to place limits on some accounts.

Read the whole interview here.

Hey Mr. Wood is there any possiblity we can pu together a list of questions to ask next time.  Not that I didn't love your questions but, some of them weren't really what I was hoping we would get.

Any, I just thought it'd be cool if the community could get a couple questions in .

Hmm... neither of those quotes proved that K2 was using 1.8.  Infact, one of them implied there was more to come.  I don't know what they are doing, but I don't fall in line for loose speculation.

As for the whole K2 Network being a bad company, I have nothing but good things to say about them.  It just seems no one wants to hear you unless you are bad mouthing someone.  Like I said, I have played GMO for about 2 years now and I have not had one problem.  In fact when I did have a problem the GM and CS staff went over and beyond for me.  So I can't complain much.  But, appearantly 80 people complained with negative results on the BBB site and that makes them a bad company.  Their corporate website says they have 8.5 million players worldwide and there have only been about 80 people who were so completely irreconsilable that they went to the BBB and still didn't get a result (that is not counting the other 200+ people who went to the BBB and receive at least acceptable results).

I just don't see the evidence.  From where I am sitting at the moment K2 is doing well, and I hope they continue in that vein.

I agree, I only see K2Network milking the title and not treating it with the respect it deserves like the Singapore version is.

One interview kinda pissed me off because they made it sound like they are making the game.  Also what pisses me off is that they are saying they are adding stuff, but the stuff they are adding is already functional in-game.  Like the 32 NPCs is already in-game, they are just making a few of them purchasable.

Also whats worse is that they don't look like they are going to release v2.0.  If you read the interviews, the version they are working with is definetly 1.8.  Thier Reps don't even know who Hakkyu Kim is.

I have not seen anywhere that they said what version they are getting... so I cannot speculate on that.

GL and I have been through the 'we are changing interface and story' statements Grantly Day made on IGN.  I agree with allowing players to customize the interface... but forcing a change may be too much.  In the SG Beta I was unable to gleem much of a story, so I would not be opposed to a strong storyline added.  By the way, SG said they were doing this as well.  But, the way Mr. Day was speaking made it sound like K2 is going to be more liberal with their changes, while the SG version is going to be more literal.

I don't understand the comments that a COMPANY is going to be trying to make MONEY.  People make statements like 'X company is going to be milking Y just to make money'.  That is illogical.  Companies are formed to make money.  If they did something to NOT make money, THAT would be interesting.  But at the end of the day EVERY company is here to make money any way they can.

That said, a lot of people are speculating what K2 is going to do with the game before they have even played it yet.  I am not a K2 backer, but I will at least give them a chance to prove themselves incapable.  This thread was talking specifically to the marketing job K2 had been doing.  GL, myself and others were worried from the start that K2 didn't have the capitol to market the game the way it need to be.  But they seem to be doing more, I just saw a mag (GDM or MMOM I think) with SoNW:GE on the cover.  Thats pretty cool.

If you don't know the statement... it is kind of worse than knowing it.  Suffice it to say, it means you are trying to prove you are not racist by saying you have 'colored' friends.  Its actually a very common joke.

No there is a separate pvp and pve area in KO. I am talking about in pve areas and I never said anything about ganking. Read carefully...

I must have misread your statements.  I could have swore you used the term 'ganking' in your post.

Ummmm... no if its an English game then in MAP CHAT people should use English the majority of the time. I don't think Koreans or Japanese or whatever would like it if English people came and took over their game and only spoke English to the point that English is the language used 99% of the time in map chat.  f its in group chat or guild chat or then of course Turkish language is fine. I am not talking about occasional Turkish being spoken in MAP CHAT but seeing Turkish spammed over and over again so that your whole screen is filled with nothing but Turkish is what I am talking about. And 10 people running up to you begging for buffs and free items in Turkish every hour and cussing you out if you respond in English...Thats what is occuring in KO. Its not the occasional Turkish phrase in MAP CHAT but the consistent non-stop spam that never stops to the point that English players are overwhelmed and cannot communicate. Also if a question is posted in MAP CHAT in English most likely you will not even get a response at all..or rude comments in Turkish
Ksing has never been a player issue in pve areas...This is and should always be something taken care of by GMs because there is no way to stop it. Now for a open pvp game then sure I agree with you KSing is a player issue. That is not the case in KO. Also it is not just KSing going on in KO, it is the total fact that a lot of Turkish players refuse to even allow English players into groups to kill mobs and gangs of them just KS the lone English players to the point where you cannot get xp at a decent rate. I would say that about 70% of the time if you get into a pick-up group and they find out you don't speak Turkish you get dropped immediately and then they proceed to KS everything in sight. There is no way for the few English players who try to play this game to compete when they are outnumbered 20 to 1 when hunting mobs.

In WoW, if someone KS'es you for hours on end, you cannot sumbit a ticket and complain about that player.  It is not the job of the host service company to stop KS'ing.  Granted in WoW there is a fail safe that deters KS'ing, but the fact still stands.  That is not a matter (even on a pve server) that the WoW GMs will interfere with.  And I cannot see how K2 can do something about it.  That seems like an issue for the developer not the publisher.

Again, PLEASE, use your better judgement and don't play SoNW.  I am sure the community will be better without you.

My comments have not been inflammatory at all, but an honest look at your statements, which as a gay black man I have heard many times before.  People make statements like that and are usually upset when it is brought to them that they may be racist (and please do note, that I said that 'I won't call you a racist, but that statement you made is pretty boarderline'.  And I totally stand by that).  I spent the weekend playing KO for the first time.  I am currently in an english speaking guild of mixed ethnicity on Olympia.  After reading  what you wrote I was expecting a screen full of turkish text in the starter city, but I have yet to find that.  In fact, I grouped with several Turkish players and learned some Turkish myself.

Now I am not sure if maybe that server has a higher population of english speakers, or the player base is older (the guild I am in has few people under 18 in it) but I had fun.  Its not really my type of game, but I will continue to play (not pay ^^).

And I totally

I don't think you have a full understanding of what is going on in KO. I am not talking about the everyday run of the mill multi cultural problems in global games, but the total take over and exclusion of participation of English players in a game that is supposedly for them. To my knowledge this has only happened in KO because of poor management by the company responsible for policing the game. And yes I totally feel it is K2Ns responsibility to ensure that all players Turkish, English, Korean, Russian, whatever are able to play and enjoy the game. But what we have in KO is a total takeover by one group that excludes (or at least makes it pretty damned hard) for others not of that group to play the game.

This is the issue, not your inflammatory clueless ranting about racism.

3. I don't see how or why K2N would stop someone from speaking their native language.  K2 has the global license to the game, if I am correct.  That means there will be people who do not know english.  It is down right rude, to ask someone to speak your language because you don't understand theirs.  Especially in the situations you are describing.  That would be like someone at Disneyland telling you that you cannot speak French on the premises at all because everyone else speaks english.  Its rude and small minded to even suggest something like that.  Its a wonder that the majority of the world hates Americans when we act in such a fashion.

KO is a GLOBAL game like Global MU Online.  It is localized in english yes.  But it is still a GLOBAL game.  I don't understand where you think it is
