I think my statement was, you should let K2 know.  Because sometimes things just don't work for system builds, so they can recreate your system and try to figure out what is happening.

I guess what I am getting at is there is some problem SotNW is having with your system.  That maybe a coding issue, but either way it is very specific to you.  So the first question is 'what are you running', not 'there is a problem with the game'.

If you have a problem say it.  There have been many people posting negatives about the game and didn't even realize they could change it (including me complaining about the hotkeys in the sgGE version when there is a way to change them).

My complaints deal strictly with some of the changes they have made for the western audience.   For example the costumes option during creation.  Most of the stuff you see there usually isn't available till 60+.    Like the Musketeers Dragoon Uniform which normally isn't available till 100.   Ok so you have people getting dressed up in this stuff early on.  What is there to look forward to at 60+ then?  The complaints about lack of customization will start all over again.

This is a valid complaint.  I don't agree with it because costume pieces drop and can be purchased later, but I can 100% understand this point of view.

And the being booted off if I step away from PC for 5 mins or so is really annoying.  It kept happening every after I turned off the auto-keep mode, like people suggested on forums.  Their ways of combating afkers annoys me as well.  If you were going to bring the game here, then don't muck with the mechanics of it.  Personally I tend to use tank heavy groups, so I dont do much at all in the way of afk leveling.  I don't see what the big problem is with other people going the afk level route though.

This is pretty much a flat out lie or you are having some strange connectivity issues.  I know there were server issues yesterday, but if you have "Lock Defend Mode" clicked off in the Game Options window you will no longer get afk booted and can afk to your hearts content.

Honestly I love dueling people like that.  Because 90% of them don't know the first thing about the classes they picked.  They have no tactics, and pretty much all around flawed idea's about how things work.  If they want to AFK their characters up to 100, more power to them.  I couldn't care less.

Also the translation for most of the beginning NPC's is spotty at best.  Spelling errors that i've seen I can live with though.

K2 has said already they are working on it and it will be patched through Beta.  The tutorial text is 2397564837652973 times better than it was before the last patch so hopefully we start seeing more of that text which is not only real english it is interesting dialogue that actually explains what is going on in Granado Espada.

I will give them credit for their choice of Font styles and sizes.  They are pretty damn good and easy on the eyes.  As well as ping times during peak hours.  No lag spikes or packet loss to speak of.   I don't know maybe it's because I've been playing the korean version for so long now, that I'm unhappy with the changes they've made.  They didn't sound too bad when I first heard them talk about them.  After actually playing around in the game, I can say at this point.  I really can't see me playing it.

I think the reason Hanbitsoft allowed 2 versions of the game was so that those who couldn't get with the changes could still play an old school version.  However, I read in an interview (Ill look for the link) that Hak Kyu Kim was so happy with some of K2's changes he is planning on implenting them in the kGE version... soo....

Hmm... I haven't seen this problem.  Maybe post on K2's website about it... or submit a ticket... I think that is working as well.

Back when you posted number 3 the beta wasn't avaible, so I'll cut you some slack. However the beta is out now and it seems I was right. SotNW:GE has more features and content then GE singapore, making GE singapore inferior.


Most people don't even realise they are lagging. you know that one second delay before your characters start moving when you click somewhere? Thats not supposed to happen.  ort hat it takes a while before your characters use a skill? Thats not supposed to happen either. You'll notice the difference when you play the US version.

About the lag thing, I was 100% definately lagging when connecting to the sgGE servers.  I had 15 hops to their servers and there was a LOT of packet loss.  Ill try and find my traceroute to prove it.

I have 2 hops to K2 servers and no packetloss... sooooo... K2 wins that argument.  I have a guild of about 300+ from WoW (who play from all over the US) and many are playing in Closed right now and have at LEAST 12 different traceroutes to K2 and to IAH.  And everytime IAH loses.  So.  It's not a slight on them.  K2 has like 20 hops to the UK and even more to Germany and beyond.  Its just a fact of life when playing an online game.

I think you hit the hammer right on the nail.  Thats why I like the game so much.

Soul Crystals are bought in the item shop.  So i'm not sure how they are going to work them into a retail GE.  How are things going with the Beta so far?  I keep hearing bad things.....

Bad things about SotNW or sgGE.  Honestly, I haven't heard bad things about either really.  Both are giving lag (depending on you locatoin), SotNW has some bad translations, but K2 has been really open about what their known issues are (they even put them on their main webpage.  The only bad thing about sgGE I can think of is their translations and possibly the afk thing.  But in general both are great games.

SotNW has a new Character Creation, so you can chose up to 12 or 13 costumes per class.  There are a LOT more quests and they added this auto-defend mode so you don't have to press spacebar all the time.  Just click to move an your guys auto attack... but the mode may be a little buggy.  A lot of people are complaining about getting d/c for being afk even when they aren't.  BUT you can turn it off so thats nice :)  personally I like it... and I haven't once been d/c while being at the keyboard... but K2 and IMC are working on it.

As for sgGE they have a pretty cool community... but everything happens at like 3am for me... so... it kinda sucks.  And there are a lot of people on the forums who don't like people who are not SEA.  Which sucks too.  And dear GOD... don't put the letters K and 2 in the same sentence or you will be mocked into air.  BUT if  you are in game, there are a lot of cool peeps and the game is MUCH closer to IMCs vision of the game.

Glad you found it! I hope to get a beta key soon too. I've been playing on the Asian english server and really enjoy it. I'm curious to see how the western version is different.

At their core they are both great games.  I think I like K2's better because it has I get no continental latency and I like all the costumes and the new auto attack thing they added.

But, sgGE is a lot of fun too.  Just wish all the events weren't at 3am my time. lol

I think the problem that the op is (or was) having is that they were looking on the FP site for the download and it is not listed or searchable... I think K2 and FP wanted this one to be hush hush for us pre-order users.

Try deleteing the copy you have currently and completely redownloading.  The same thing happened to me and it kept stopping even though I had more than enough space cleared.  But once I deleted the file it came down fine.

 

After each of my failed attempts I deleted the incomplete 2gb download and they do the same thing.

I've increased the available space to 17gb and unfortunately the whole process repeated itself.

Someone had a torrent, Ill try to find it because FP may not like your computer... I find their systems to be very finicy (sp?).

Currently the closed beta is for people who have shelled out cash or has been active on the Sword forums.  So you can go pre-order at ebgames, gamestop or best buy and get a key to play right now.  Or you can pay fileplanet and get a key.  If you pre-order you will be sent an email that will tell you how to download the game for free.

OR, you can wait a week when Sword enters open beta (the 15th I believe) and just play that way.

OOOORR, you can play the sgGE, but there are some major differences between the two versions.  People in Sword are MUCH more active and talk more than in sgGE, and there isn't as much afk play.  But that seems to be a style thing... so if you like being afk play sgGE if not Sword's community is shaping up nicely.

Overall, both games are good and at their core the are similar.  I just like K2's better, its not as laggy (at least for the US players).

Now i havent been posting on the forums or donated anything to the site but i did buy the pre order and i registered for beta because i have any account and the only way to get an account is register for beta!  Now i havent been sent anything about downloading, is this because i havent been active on forums?  And will there be a free site to download for us beta-pre orderers thats NOT fileplanet like gamershell or filefront when the beta comes out?  Right now i cant play because i have not gotten an email and i dont pay for fileplanet, so i just have to wait til 15th?  Im relying on you man, you have the Sword pic :)

Download there, don't wait for the email :)  thats the only important thing you need from the email.  I think the reason K2 did the fileplanet thing was because they didn't want to PAY them to host a file for us pre-order people.  But the link I gave you allows you to download it for free.
