Have they even touched up on the Graphics Engine?
The Tavern (General) « Everquest II 2/07/08 9:17:18 AM
I run on the top 2 setting High and Very High I think are what they are called. But I have never seen any real lag issues I have been playing since beta. I think Conn. speed really can screw with this game, I use the High end cable pakage so I with it is 10mg up 10mg down and my friend has a computer just like mine and he has the cheap conn. which is like 1mg up 2mg down and he gets lag in areas that I dont so keep a eye on conn. speed and see if that might be some of you trouble. |

Originally posted by wolfpackee The reason mount's are harder to get in alot of games is cause in the early level's most progress is done all close togather and there is little need for travel, By the time you reach a level where you need to travel long dist. you should have been able to save money for a mount or have atleast some from of faster travel like Spirit of Wolf or Jboots. Even in WoW there was no reason to have to take the Zep more then maybe 1 time a night cause once you have traveled the next 10 levels would be on that side of the world. Horse's are also a Status item, It shows how hard you have worked and saved money. |

Yes they have patched the Models, I run a computer that is close to you spec's and the only place I ever get lag is in qeynos harbor or other over pop with player area's but even then it is only a small amount. They have now also patched in a Conn. Status hot key that shows everything from FPS to Conn. speed so that may help them locate a problem if there really is one. F11 is hotkey |

Grats on getting in.
I got a E-mail 2 days ago from them wanting me to update my DXdiag file and it said "We look forward to having you join us in the upcoming Empire vs. Chaos Focus Test Phase." But I dont know when that is. so maybe I will get lucky soon. =) |

The easyest MMO to solo is WoW I maxed a char in 3 months all solo but you have to be ready to craft to alot and make money to buy gear if you are going to solo. It was fun just not great fun I got bored from time to time. I have soloed a Char in to the 70's in EQ2 took alittle longer was alot more challenging and in turn was more fun for me. No crafting needed to get gear just harvest whatever zone you are in and sell the items. You wont be rich by any means but you can get your gear. I did not find myself getting ant where near as bored with EQ2 as I did WoW but they both where fun. CoH I only soloed in to the 40's with and found that at that level I had to group. So I would go with EQ2 if I was you. I see you have played it but the game has changed some since release and I think it is more fun now then when it released. |

Originally posted by Kokushibyou Granted but I dont think they where any where near as good and they did not have the staying power that UO has had, I played them as well for alot shorter time and never went back to them, But I have gone back to UO a couple of times in between new titles and have thought about going back to now since I have been reading up on some the changes but would only be til AoC and/or WAR comes out. |

Ultima Online was the best Skill-Based mmo around and it really started it all when it comes to MMO's. Last time I looked it is still going and you do not have to PVP only problem with UO is 2D game they have added what looks like a exp. pack that says it make's the game 3D but from the screen shots I have seen it is still 2D just alittle better looking then it use to be. I played UO for 5 years and have not been able to find another game that keeps my intrest as well as it did. I love the Skill-Based play and was really fun.
Now if we can just get someone to make a 3D UO that would rock. |

I was on beta for this game and never could see what everyone saw in it. The story was poor the graphic's sub-par and the game play was boring. But just because I did not like does not mean that others felt the same way so I kept to myself about it but if there is alreay a drop in Sub's for this game I dont think it will be around long and I dont think there was enough to it for it to go free to play I think it will just be sent to the bug zapper. |

Can you resubscribe each month with the retail box?
The Rusty Nail (General) « D&D Online 12/04/07 12:40:22 PM
The code starts a new acct. So if you wanted to start all over every month then yea you can do it. I played for about 6 months and last I heard it is still really low on content but as for game play it is fun I ran 1 of every class to max level and saw all the content before I got bored. |
