Haven't seen a post this messed up in a long time.

I prefer the leveling process as long as there are multiple ways to do so. If I have to quest only to level, it can be kinda boring, but if you can leveling through quests, pvp, dynamic events, crafting, whatever, then it's not so bad. Just gotta break up the monotony.

In the end, if I'm not enjoying the leveling portion of the game, I am not going to enjoy the end-game. Then, there are games like WoW, where I enjoy the leveling process and get bored of the end-game in no time. Which for some reason made me wanna roll alts just to get back to the boring end and stop playing again. lol

Ok, never mind, this topic was a waste of time.

1 of 2 things is the case here.

1) The game is full of people of which you are a representation of, whom people do not enjoy gaming with because they are bitter and always searching for an opportunity to insult or belittle others.

2) The game has nothing to offer and the thought of having to name what the game has to offer is met with explosive anger and vitriol.

I tend to think that once again as usual, MMORPG.com is the gutter of the mmo internet with people surfing for the opportunity to avenge their school bullying on anyone who would take the mis-step of making a positive post.

And for the record, league is a lot of fun.

People get jaded.

Your thread comes off a little trollish. Can't exactly blame them.  "Bought the game, never really gave it a chance, been playing another since... should I come back to this game I have no real idea about and couldn't even appreciate what people told me if I tried?"

Bugs appear to be very minimal, at least up to level 30 so far. From my own experience, the worst you should run into it is the combat very rarely will lock up for you during combat so you can't do anything, but the enemy can still attack you, but all you need to do is hit ESC a couple times and good to go.

Otherwise...

- I've also very rarely had an NPC not be loaded in an area even when the arrow on the radar pointed to the spot I was standing in, and all I had to do was re-log or re-enter the zone, which isn't too big of a hassle. Same if you come across most other issues, really.

- Sometimes during combat, I'll swing at an enemy but if I'm on an uneven surface, it goes right through and nothing happens.

- I've only ever had one quest not be completed due to a bug, where a bunch of undead spawned in a room that you had to fight, and they're supposed to come 2-3 at a time, but instead of 10+ of them attacked at the same time and destroyed me every time (and I was also a bit under-leveled). I assumed it was the under-leveling, so I came back a little later and it was a pushover now because they only did the 2-3 at a time thing. Personally, I can see someone being frustrated, but this didn't bother me whatsoever.

- It can seem a bit laggy trying to open doors or click on objects when others are also doing so.

------

I mean, I'm sure there are other issues people are experiencing, but so far, it's been a relatively bug free experience, and I am enjoying it.  You'll hit a snag here and there, but most issues seem to be fixed by re-logging or re-zoning.

From my experience, it seems the bugs are blown out of proportion.

But there are a ton of bots in the public dungeons and stuff. They don't really bother me, though, because I generally just wander in, do everything I need to do as I fight through, and the bots are generally at the boss of the place, so I just take a swing or two and get credit for the dungeon. I can see how people might not want the easy road like this, but I consider these just bonus xp on the side anyway.

Anyway, pick the game up. It's pretty awesome, if far from perfect.

"Bad design flaws"?

So they were aiming for bad design but it was flawed and they ended up with a masterpiece?  ;)

I like how the argument the guys working on the Occulus Rift use is: "When something is successful, people come out of the woodwork to mess with you."

Yet, for all we know, the Occulus Rift was based out of ZOS, and they reversed the situation.

Either way, it's gonna be 50-50 between the rejects on this site.

This is ridiculous. Seriously. Rift does good and now they try to cash in? Guess they have to make money some kind of way. http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/05/01/oculus-rift-technology-was-stolen-company-claims

On this site, this post seems so weird. "Rift does good" - seems like Trion's Rift. Oh, they're cashing in on Trion's Rift? Oh wait, you meant the virtual reality machine in development.

Anyway, moving on. Who's to know who is correct? There's no way. ZOS might be right. But in the end, it won't matter. No one cares.

The people in this thread are going to be swayed by how negative towards ZOS it is due to the OP.  Who has no idea about anything, to be honest. No one does but the people involved.

Another article update by Matt Firor, discussing an assortment of topics regarding eso. From bugs and bots, to bad reviews, to what they're up too right now. Particularly I'm interested in the things they aren't working on atm but intend to implement in the future such as:

  • Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood storyline and quests.
  • Spellcrafting
  • Imperial City PvP dungeon
  • Auto-leveling dungeons that level to your group leader
  • Field of View (FOV) adjustment
  • Armor dyeing and tinting
  • A justice system—steal from and kill NPCs and deal with the consequences if you are caught

Rest of the article here, I recommend a read for anyone interested and or playing ESO.

http://elderscrollsonline.com/en/news/post/2014/04/30/the-road-ahead---may-1st?ref=home

Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood are at the top of my list of anticipated features. The justice system would make it feel way more like TES, as well. Somehow, this justice system seems like it should have been a fully fleshed out feature from launch instead of pushed to the back burner.

Lots of promise here. Looking forward to it, but not sure if I'll be playing or not by the time it's all implemented.

I didn't know SWTOR was ever considered officially canon. I thought they threw it back a ways in time to make their own story with the base ideas and nothing more.

Sad to say but today I'll be quitting Elder Scrolls Online. The battle to try and enjoy this game has ended and my VR5 character's journey will come to a close. Not because I want to but because I'm essentially forced to. I cannot progress through the game due to the sheer amount of bugs. Just like the issues with the main story line my character cannot progress into the VR6-10 zones because I cannot finish the 'Cadwell's Almanac" requirements. I've spent several days logging out, repeating, and repairing the game but to no avail I cannot progress.

I suppose I'll send in an e-mail to Zenimax tell them I want to obtain a refund and go back to playing less frustrating games like Dark Souls 2 since it just released. Seriously the game was fun when it worked but it has been an uphill struggle that has only become worse the further I progress. From falling through the world, not being able to use my skills and abilities, not being able to auto-attack, not being able to use my siege equipment, many broken quests many of which won't be fixed on the 1.1 patch release, to the infinite load screens, network I/O issues, the memory leak, and various other bugs or exploits.

Good by my little lizard man~ I'll miss you but I must move on and to commemorate this occasion a video:

Man how can you expect a refund. You put more hours into eso, then i play computer in a month.

Exactly.  He doesnt deserve a refund.  Its completely ludicrous to even ask for one in these circumstances.

You make your statement by cancelling sub.  Asking for a refund for a game that you put days into is a shitty thing to do.

Its not like the game is Vanguard.  It has an above average amount of bugs but bugs are EXPECTED in a newly released MMORPG.  if you dont expect them you are an unreasonable person, doubly so if they are endgame bugs and you rush to the endgame.

Next time just wait two months after launch.

So, if my TV stops working after using it..I should wait a few months and hope it fixes itself?

Uhhh... in this case, he can still use his computer, and he apparently could get around any issues if he actually wanted to, and he could always have PvP'd and stuff for now until some stuff got fixed, or crafted, or whatever else to continue upgrading the character until things fixed up a bit.

Not like there's much of a point in rushing beyond PvP at the moment anyway.

He didn't pay $90 for a computer..he paid $90 for a functioning game to play and can no longer play it the way he was playing. That is more than enough reason to get a refund with any other product on the market.

You focused on the wrong part. I said the computer because he could at least use the computer in this case, whereas a broken TV means he'd be left with no entertainment period from that entertainment venue.

As for the product at hand: In this case, the game is playable; he had other routes for character progression that he refused to use in the mean-time, as the game is being PATCHED FREQUENTLY and the first major update is on its way. The problems will be fixed with patience. Unlike a TV.

You're not following a logical pattern here..I wasn't saying the power in my house wasn't working..I was saying the TV wasn't working..which is where the game would be in this analogy. The computer would be the power that runs the game. So, the computer still working doesn't make any sense..since he is not trying to get a refund on the computer.

Here in the US products are required to have an implied warranty. This means the product is guaranteed to "do what it is supposed to do". Software is obviously exempt from this..because of sketchy terms and usage practices that have not been challenged in court as of yet. The length of implied warranties vary by state and can be as long as four years.

As for the problems being fixed with patience, that's only an excuse that's acceptable in software..you pay upfront for something that MIGHT work later on. There's no real sense to that at all. If it doesn't work the way it's supposed to at purchase and you're not happy with that, then there's no reason not to get a refund. Except that the law pounds consumers in the ass when it comes to software.

You have to start with a logical pattern for it to be followed. You're comparing a video game that is playable, being patched constantly,  to a TV that doesn't work at all and won't be fixed months down the road. The PC doesn't matter, stop focusing on that. I should have left that out so my post would be less confusing.

Apples and oranges. They're too different. This analogy isn't working, let's just move on to something else.

So anyway, not a good analogy.

They will use the PC version to fix a lot of the problems and likely delay if necessary until it's read for consoles. I would expect it'll be much better for consoles when launched.

You're a terrible person, my friend. But I guess terrible people lead the world at large, so oh well.

I'm a terrible person asking for a refund for a terrible product from a company that had a terrible attitude towards how terrible their product actually was.

I can respect a person not liking a game.

I can respect a person posting on a forum why he didn't like a game.

I can respect a person saying I am an idiot for liking a game he doesn't like.

I have no respect for someone who plays a game for a length of time, gets to the end game, realized he doesn't like said game and asks for a refund. That my friend is character... or rather lack thereof.  The sad thing is most people don't understand what I just said...

Clearly you are wrong in your thinking, because the people who made this game agree with him, that he deserved a refund.

So if the entity that made a product was confronted by a disgruntled customer, and said customer wanted a refund, said entity asks why, customer gives reason, and said entity either agrees with the customer or does not. If they agree then a refund is given, if not, well thats obvious. He got a refund... ergo.. Zenimax agreed with his reasoning as to why he deserved a refund.

Also, why do you care if he got his money back or not?  Does it hurt you in anyway ? Clearly the one portion of this equation (Zenimax) was not hurt by it enough to refuse the refund.

Clearly you are wrong in your thinking, because the people who made this game wanted to have a customer first attitude and game him a refund regardless of the reasons given.

It is better to have good CS and make a customer happy than to fight with the customer over reasons. Because that customer may look at a future product and buy it because of how they were treated with an issue. If they said no because you played the entire month, it could make things worse.

Considering how Zenimax demanded a sub before the 30 days was even over, i strongly doubt that they would refund a player the money if he/she did not have a reason they could not refute.

But i digress, please be angry at me for defending someone who was flamed for doing something that hurt no one in anyway.

If Zenimax put the customer first there would be tons more players SUBBING, and less threads talking about quitting. Rose colored glasses are certainly helpful to those who refuse to see the truth.

When did they demand a sub before the 30 days were done?

I got my refund~ all $90.00 I spent. So we can drop the whole," You're not going to get it" or "I sincerely hope you don't get it."

Well said.

But people like the OP, and those who agree with him, will likely think "character" means "pushover." Which in reality, is likely closer to the truth at this point.

You resorted to calling someone an Ahole and a terrible person for wanting a refund.

You have no business talking about anyone's "character", when you demonstrate very little of your own.

Being that kind of disrespectful doesn't make you a good or better person.

I actually didn't refer to him directly as an asshole, just how the world was full of them, and I also followed that up with other stuff. Oh and I called him a terrible person AFTER he got the refund. ;) Reap what you sew and all that.

But this thread seems pretty split down the middle on this issue. So whatevs.

A refund Zeni online agreed to.   It's not your place to pass judgement.

"The internet: where no one has a right to judge others on opinions ever."

They're showing a kindness to the OP in hopes that he won't bash them too hard as a disgruntled customer, and might possibly re-purchase down the road when many issues are fixes. An undeserved kindness, but it is what it is.

And like I brought up earlier, now he can say, "at least they gave me a refund, so their CS isn't all that bad."

Funny how this thread started with "I had  fun playing it, but there were bugs!" to "ZOS is a terrible company, with a terrible attitude that put out a terrible product."

The fun hours forgotten, lost in ignorance. But ignorance is bliss. Enjoy the next game by the next company you will ultimately ripoff.

At least now you have something "positive" to say (their CS), so people can know they can get a free trial for the first month. Way to go ZOS! Dodged a bullet!

While I understand your plight, I will say asking for a refund after playing the game through to VR5 (over 100 hours easy) for $60 is ludicrous and I sincerely hope they refuse to give you one.

Good luck getting 100 hours out of 90% of other games that cost $60.

Even if you paid for the physical Imperial edition that's still a dollar an hour.  Not sure I can think of anything with such great value.

It would be like going to a restaurant, consuming an entire three-course meal, cleaning every plate and then demanding a refund when the dessert arrives.

There are a lot of entitled assholes in this world, and I wouldn't be surprised if that restaurant example there was tried. The OP is a good example of what is wrong with this world. Not even so much because of attempting to get a refund.

His reply as to why he's doing so is simply "because I can" -- so he's going to do it out of spite for having 2 of those 100 hours not be as fun.
