Pretty annoyed right now and considering doing a chargeback on this expansion. If I have to keep doing this I will never make it to Heavensward anyway, might as well get my money back.

I don't understand man... just accept the side quests, skip reading them, and pound them out quickly, and do dungeons and stuff. The main story is the only lengthy part of the levelling process. You will not be able to avoid doing a bit of grinding to get to the next main story quest, but with quickly banging out side quests and doing all the dungeons, that generally won't happen until you're in your 40's.  And with the challenge log and dailies, as well as food and FC exp buff (which is now double what it used to be), it isn't too big of an issue at all.

Wait, what do you mean double xp? DId they double all xp from the main story pre-HW? If so, you have nothing to whine about as it never really took that long to level as it was before.

i dont think its a ludacris estimation to assume that

a) this console generation will be the last

b) the future is mobile gaming / streaming

and if only because processing power is getting so efficient... i really dont see another console generation 7 years down the road

Consoles will only die when you can build a $1k-3k high end gaming computer for the same price of a console.

The accessibility and convenience of a console at the cost of being less powerful than a PC will always be a top gaming choice.

I see consoles end up turning in to a mini pc with there own OS and app store, but as games only consoles will be the same even if pc can run it 10x better, but the consoles makers will just pay a lot money to make people buy there consoles to just play 1 game that they just payed for there console only, like FF7 remake.

This is sorta true. Many people just prefer playing with a controller and not having to deal with all the PC shit like viruses, maintenance, upgrades, etc., and knowing that if they buy a game for the console, they know that console will be able to run it well without putting any thought into it.

The convenience, price and preference will bring in the majority of the people. But there are always gonna be people with money to spare who really want to play one or two games and then let it sit in the corner.

I think its good to note, Uncharted is like a scripted movie more than an open game. They can do a lot more in some aspects because they don't have to worry about others. This is also something the PC has been capable of doing for some time. The environment visuals and physics have been things seen in the PC industry. The main difference is the player character. With only 1 player character and a bunch of supporting characters, you can dedicate a lot of resources to the 1 character.

At the end of the day its just a basic 3rd person rail shooter with pretty visuals tacked on.

You just got burned at the stake for saying that, at least 10 times or more. You simply can't say such things about Naughty God's masterpiece. /s

Sometimes it does make me wonder if they ever look outside of their bubble, because it has already been achieved before. As far as a scripted movie experience goes, Uncharted is probably more interesting between that and its rival Gears of War.

Multiplayer though? That hands down goes to Gears of War.

Ehhh..  I wouldn't say "hands down." I prefer Uncharted's multiplayer because I felt more freedom with how I played, and the controls. Also having a bit more than just Horde mode in a PvE capacity, which is the most fun part to me. I guess that's my main thing, I just prefer jumping and climbing around as I kill stuff. lol

I don't get it... you're mad because you bought the game and played for free otherwise for years and they aren't giving out freebies to those who have?

Are you an idiot?

I beat Contra as well as 100+ Games when I was young.   How is it these teens cant?  O thats right they are like my Teenager who complains about loosen and cannot get up and dust herself off and try again.

They do play mildly retarded. There's no smoothness to their gameplay at any point like they literally can't get used to the controller.

Still, you can claim your superiority as a gamer for having beat it (and nice job, btw) but I guarantee the majority of people who played this game during its time didn't finish it -- at least, not without the help of the Game Genie.

You got to be kidding me. Everyone I knew with a NES finished Contra and even harder games. My brothers and I finished Contra multiple times without even dying once. Contra isn't even hard. Megaman was hard, Ghost and Goblins was even harder.

There are multiple reasons why young gamers now can't play these old school games.

Yes, yes, I'm sure I'm kidding you.

I guess we had different experiences. Everyone I knew could barely get to the second stage before getting bored, and I've never known anyone (or seen anyone post about) online or off that nostalgically recollects such ease of completion. But it is what it is.

I find it weird you refer to Mega Man as hard by comparison. I found those games easier than Contra.

But regardless, fuck Ghosts and Goblins. lol

Nevermind that, how about Ninja Gaiden? Or go back and try the original Metal Gear (for NES). THAT game will make you say "WTF?" I'm not sure I ever truly understood what the purpose of that game was. I bought it used and never had a manual, so I was completely and utterly lost the whole time I owned it.

I actually managed to finish Ninja Gaiden 2. One of the more satisfying experiences on NES, and one of the best games, imo.

Now, Ninja Gaiden 1 and 3, no goddamn way. I didn't even come close. Not sure why, they just seemed harder.

Talk about a kick in the balls, so now the only way to fly is to grind your ass off and literally waste my time doing shit I don't want to do so that I can finally get what I should have been able to pay for from the beginning...Blizzard, you can go f**k yourself. Lets not even talk about the disaster that is PvP and garrisons, lets not fix some of these huge glaring problems first or anything.

I left the game in March mostly because of the lack of flying and the drying up of content and this is their way of trying to bring people back when their subs are already on the decline? LOL Blizzard you are utterly clueless and this is pathetically desperate to keep people playing and subbed. This is easily the worst expansion they have released yet and this might be the expansion that kills this game for me completely.

Funny how different the opinions are. I would rather you and everyone else never be able to fly in Draenor (until the content is outdated), and that Blizzard would stick to their original design decision. But they're giving in to the whining. Be happy the ability is there at all and you only have to do it on one character.

We are whining? What!? I guess we are trying to change history now? why do you think they dropped flying from the expansion to begin with? because people like you were crying on the forums, complaining about how the content gets bypassed or how people avoid fighting because of flying mounts when the solution with anyone with a few brain cells was to just stop using your flying mount, not get Blizz to remove flying altogether for future expansions.

I busted my ass for hundreds of hours collecting mounts, completing hard mode achievements trying to get the rarest flying mounts I could only to have people come in and take a dump on one of my favorite parts of the game.

How unfortunate for you. But yes, it's whining. Whining about how it's not fair because you weren't catered to for how you spent your time in-game.

Once again, be happy you have the option to put those mounts to good use if you decide to play again and wanna put in the effort. Otherwise just wait until the next expansion, as they're likely to add flying naturally in Draenor at that point.

I knew they've give in when it comes to flying, but I expected they'd keep it to the ground until their usual big patch before the next expansion.

At least it's not a small amount of stuff necessary for the achievement. Either way, it's not like I'm playing at the moment, so no worries for me.

You can trust Yoshi!  He is building World of Warcraft with an FF skin for FF fans.

I would suggest actually playing the game before spouting off this WoW-clone nonsense. They look, feel, and play nothing alike, aside from having quests and dungeon queues.

Yoshida: "We based this game on WoW"

Feedback: "I don't want to play a reskinned WoW"

Fanboy: "This game is nothing like WoW!1"

I don't even. XIV is actually a cool game but do you people even think before white knighting it? You're basically saying Yoshida failed at his job lol.

It's funny how FF14 fans feel like it's okay to give their cash shop a pass while taking pot shots at other games that have cash shops (which is almost every game now).

Why would the FF14 cash shop have crappy items? Wouldn't a quality game have quality items to sell their players or are they scamming the players with crap for a cash grab?

When a cash shop is the only one getting something unique and games are reskinning mounts EIGHT to TWELVE times in the SAME expansion, we are starting to see a problem.  Especially when there is so little content available in said game.  In addition to them saying they are planning on releasing new mounts on a bi-monthly basis from now on in the shop.  Some may buy, good for them, but this as a whole is starting to get ridiculous.

Didn't XIV reskinned a whole rainbow of unicorns, then released the Sleipnir mount
 on the cash shop?

Actually, is there ANY unique mount on the game? From what I remember they're all regular monsters made rideable by players.

Basing a game off of a general philosophy does not make it a clone. White knighting or not, the game feels NOTHING like WoW, plays quite differently from WoW, has features WoW does not, yada yada. They used aspects of WoW that works, but they made it their own and have grown quite differently from WoW overall.

if you can't see that, you're no less ignorant than those you are calling so.

Not so f2p
General Discussion « WildStar

Way to be misinformed, OP.

The F2P seems very reasonable, and I might give it a go at some point, but probably not.

You can purchase gear for your chocobo at the Grand Company you're with with company seals, can get others through the veteran rewards after a while, and not sure how else you'd go about getting more, if there are any.

The colors are done by stabling your chocobo at your FC house stable, and then feeding it specific items that change its colors, which I assume are gotten through crafting or buying on the marketboard.

You unlock a mount in the main story, you get other mounts (well at least one) through the veteran reward system, getting a ton of player commendations, farming extreme primals for their chance to drop a pony that is unique to each one, but you've gotta get lucky to both have it drop, and win the roll, as not everyone can just take it if it drops. And I'm sure there are other ways for more mounts.

Why are people complaining about content being released that they can't participate in right away when they're not even finished the content currently available?

Play the damn game and have fun (or quit), enjoy what is available, then move on to the next stuff when you can. It isn't a race, and it's not some great travesty that it wasn't designed to fit this somehow intense need for instant gratification that people feel they "deserve."

lol 90 ilvl is in no way a huge barrier for entry. You're very likely to have that easily before even finishing the main storyline. Do dungeons and dailies, unlock and run Crystal Tower raids, and join Hunt parties as they appear in PF, you'll have i90 in no time.

Although if it were me as the new player, I wouldn't be attempting to rush through to new content just because it's available. It'll still be there later.

Also I guess I was very lucky that I didn't get a PS4 until a month ago or so, as well as Assassin's Creed Unity. Since I came in late, I can't understand why you'd hope this new AC makes you forget about it, because it is my favorite in the series aside from AC3.

anyways. seems like the growing beard feature was canned or something. shame i was looking forward to growing a beard on him.

Your problem here is comparing a fictional character with superhuman strength and reflexes to a real life human with realistic limitations. Just don't do that anymore. lol

As for the beard growing, I had no idea that it was even a planned feature. I thought they just gave him an older look and that was all they were doing. Not really necessary, but I suppose it could've been cool.

A lot of the stuff your friend will be doing solo, but if you stick to BRD, or switch to another class, it'll be mainly the same, with the exception of you making a tank or healer to lower the queue times. Help your friend with their Hunting Log if they want the help, queue up with your friend for Guildhests and dungeons as they pop up, grind some leve quests together, do FATE's, whatever.

But since it's your friends first time through, the story is going to take up a good bit of time, and that's a solo thing, so just go do your own thing on occasion and don't expect to be with your friend for the entire trip, unless your friend skips all cutscenes and doesn't care about them, then you wouldn't be waiting for too long, but if the person wants to see the story, that would be a crappy way to go about it.

League of Angels needs to be immediately removed from this site and have much worse action taken by the companies they're ripping off. Simply awful.
