As someone who is a "SWTOR fan" no its kinda a big deal...

A lot of people in the guild I'm in (its a large guild one of those super guilds that invites everyone) were in there farming up Valor, and many of them were saying it was just as amazing a valor gain as the claims on the forums are saying...  a thousand points in 5 minutes easily.

EVERYONE was there, no one was WZing, wasn't worth it to WZ.

Lag was horrible too, zone had almost 400 people in it, and two Ilum channels.

Um, isnt this what the zone should be like? Not 10 people running around shooting rockets at walkers that dont fight back.

The spawn camping was not that bad, and for the first time there was actual PvP in the zone last night on my server. Both Republic and Imperials had groups going and we got a lot in the central location. Was some of the most fun I have had in PvP since the game started.

The claims on the forums were BS, people were just sprouting random numbers to try to make the patch seem like it was the end of the road for the game, the exact same stuff certain people do here. In 2 hours of being on Ilum and fighting, I ganed maybe 6k Valor through all of it, and this was including being in the ops group that was hanging around the Republic base. This was also with having the full buff of controlling Ium.

Ahh so because it didn't happen on your server, and it didn't happen to you, it is all BS? So the various video's on it can just be dismissed because it didn't happen on your server. Let's also dismiss the fact that it had to be patched.  You know because it didn't happen on your server. I hate to break it to you but on my server (Repub), and my alt server (Emp) it was bad. As to your other comment don't know what you were doing wrong, if you only got 6k Valor.

In every single MMO game out there the stuff I earn during playing is worth nothing, in D3 I can sell it(in both cases legally that is). No matter how low farmers will try to undercut, I can do it more and still get a profit unlike in every other game. This is interesting enough to try and see how it works. Blizz got balls fer sure.

That's my favourite argumentation from those who like the idea. Everyone who will use the RMAH says, yeah, I can finally make a profit... guys, there is no business where everyone makes a profit, and for sure none where you have fees on every aspect of the process. So who is gonna lose? Hand me some popcorn, this is gonna be fun...

^This.

The one on 19th was to prep for launch.  The one happening now is more, but also marking the end of the grace period.

I can only speak for my guild on my server.  But no one has really started any end game stuff yet.  Most of us are leveling, pvping, crafting, or doing Flashpoints. Probably sometime in January we'll begin full swing on Endgame stuff. For now though it's no rush and not even a priority.

It will take me at least a month, probably longer to actually hit the 'end game'. Even if the end game is raids, I'll probably do some because the flash points were a lot more fun than I expected. I'm just curious if there's anyone who has any idea what all the end game covers.

If you have even a little liking for PvP.  Trust me roll on a PvP server, it's gets crazy.  You'll forget all about leveling lol. But from my understanding currently the End game will be the usual themepark stuff.  Raids, think there are currently 2 or 3, could tell you if I was in game.  With different modes believe it's Normal and Nightmare or is it Heroic lol. And of course the thing I'm looking forward to the most, the open PvP planet Illum. Of course there's also the FFA PvP lake for when guilds of the same faction want to settle disputes in a civilized manner . There's also Datacron hunting, and let me tell you some of them require a bit of thought on how to get to them, and some are well hidden. Space missions as well, they get progressively harder as you take on tougher ones that open up as you level up.

I wore the level 20 pvp set all the way up to 40, when I changed it for level 40 pvp set.  I'm 400 Cybertech so I craft my own mods.  Been upgrading my own stuff since 20 to keep it viable. If you mod stuff well it's actually better then most if not all the quest rewards you'll get.  I only got the level 40 PvP helmet, gloves, boots, pants, belt. I like the chest I had found around level 30 or so.  Think it was quest reward.  So I ripped the mods from my PvP armor and put it in new chest. So I gave the level 20 PvP chest to my companion Elara. Crafted mods for it for her from scratch. (She's been wearing that for about a good 15 now) Have to say I like the modding system.

First - Trooper.  Havoc Squad gets **** done. Need something blown up? We got you.  Need someone killed? We got you.  Need some moronic Senators rescued? Oh yeah we got you. There was one point in the story so far (not going to spoil it) that just made me pause for a second before making my choice. I kid you not I sat there for about 4 mins debating about what I should choose.

Second - Sith Warrior. Played one in beta, and love the story. I actually ruined their ending by watching a youtube video of it.  Needless to say it hasn't stopped me from deciding this will be my first personal alt. Since sadly my first real alt will be a JK for my guild. Not to mention the fun I'll have in breaking that one companions will and turning her to Dark side. Hell might even do another Sith Warrior and go Light Side.

Third - Sith Inquisitor. Ruined the ending for this one to, but just like with Sith Warrior.  Watching the ending made me want to play one even more. Plus from my experience with them in beta I found the story very compelling. Seeing how I get to that point at the end, has me giddy with joy. Thinking about all the people I would manipulate and kill, all in the name of the Empire.

So the idea of playing an alt for their class story sounded awesome to me at first, but I've got to tell you, the thoughts of having to go back through some of these zones just feels icky.  The first time through was helped by the story of the quests, but if you've already seen that once, twice, three times before, that whole extra is kind of over with - and some of this questing and zones just are NOT very fun.

agreed starter zones are pretty bland and it makes it hard to want to go through them again.. even as differn't class.. I did bounty hunter during beta then imperial agent for pre-release.. Hutta is just dreadfull...

Not just the starter zones tho. There is barely enough missions on each planet to get you through the levels. You are pretty much forced to do every single side quest there is! Or you end up short!

So on ALT's you end up doing the EXACT SAME side quests (and ALL of them) all over again... and again.

That information is incorrect.  I easily had anywhere from 8+ non-heroic quest left on most of the planets I went to.  Throw in heroics (I pretty much skipped them all, minus one or two on Tatoonie) and I'd easily  have 10 or more quest left per planet all the way up to Voss.  The only planet that doesn't would be Quesh (sp?).

If you are running out of quest on planets you are doing something wrong.  There is easily enough quest on each planet to put you a level or more pass their recommend level cap.

I'll be hitting 46 tonight after maint is over.  My guild has two level 50's.  First 50 on my server was a Sith Inquisitor though.  Was funny first time I ran into him was on Voss. Not sure why he was there.  Gave each other some nasty stares, then he rolled out when two of my guild members rolled up.

Edit: Lizard if you keep good pace and balance.  You should be ending your Class story by 48/49.

Just a guess.  Don't quote me on this.  Maybe it's to promote a small player economy? From what I remember player created crystals didn't have those restrictions. Mainly came from specialty vendor bought items and drops from kills. *shrug* I don't know maybe they just thought it was good idea.

Glad to see you fixed it.

I dont think you have played any of the elder scrolls, because just because you beat the game with one char and took one road doesnt mean that there isnt 100s of other ways to see altering situations as you go throught the world.

If you really wanna talk about that, VOs they dont really mean anythign in SW, you can make what ever dicission you want but does it reflect the story? No.

And why do you keep bringing up VO? Where did I say anything about VO in my post? 100's of other ways? I think it's you that hasn't played a TES game before. Even in Morrowind there were only but so many choices as to how you handled something, and that game had more choices then Skyrim.  Almost all of Skyrim choices have about as much impact as choices in Deus Ex Human Revolution.  Which was do you want ending A or slightly altered ending B.  Oh and don't even get me started on Radiant system.

I ususally buy almost every MMO and some others like The elder scroll series, battlefield series all CE just for a cool toys that come along with and the POSTERS!, but this one will be a pass.

Most MMOs in the past before this game and probably in the future 39.99 normal box, and around 70ish to 80 dollars CE, never seen these prices before.

So the $150.00 CE SWTOR isn't worth it? The Elder Scrolls Skyrim is the same price on the CE version and you get two or three little things? Sorry your post makes no sense.

You forget that skyrim is truely a great game and for me a hardcore fan of the elder scroll series that was a must have. This one just does not make sense. I guess if you slap Star wars on water bottles you can charge 10 bucks for it too.

Maybe others who gets the CE is also hardcore fan for Star Wars and love the game as well?

In the same logic, you can slep a TES on anything and charge crazy amount for it too ?

*watches the dragon fly backward*

I guess we will see how long the enthusiasm last with this one lol. I am just saying you cannot compare a Great title to a regular run of the mill mmo whose only inovation is VO.

*shakes head*

So a game that can be finished in a week. Thats sole replayability is going to be based off the mod community.  Who's best fixes will come from the mod community, and has zero online/group content.  Is a better purchase then something that has Multiple story lines, Group content, and a team dedicated to making content and bug fixes.

I'm all for respecting someone opinion, but really man?

Since when? 39.99 for an expansion yeah, but for the MMO itself? Nope.  Maybe after it's been on the shelf for a while (See WoW) or tanked at start (See just about everything else).

I was like that to.  At first the only thought creeping though my mind was Sith Warrior.  Then linked up with my old guild and found they were going Republic.  So I said ok Jedi Knight.   Got into two beta weekends.  Commando was like love at first Assault Cannon kill. I eventually plan to have many alts, and the first will probably be Sith Warrior.  For now though all I can think about is getting back in game, and mow everything in my path down with Asault Cannon fire.

I just hope they don't forget low level stuff.  There is nothing wrong with catering to high end, but if that's all you focus on.  Your game just becomes too top heavy. Every now and then they should open up new questing area's different from originals. Like one update do new 10 to 20 area.  Then couple updates later a new 20 to 30 area.   EQ2 was pretty good about  in their expanions.  WoW didn't have this till Cata but even then it wasn't all new it was just a redesign. Even if the quest are just copy pasted from the other area, it's good to change the scenary.  New dungeons for low levels help as well.

I mean, Jesus, imagine the Return trailer when the Sith transport's door opens. All the lightsabers ignite red except 2 guys in the back who went lightside, and they ignite green and blue. That'd be an awesome way to ruin an iconic moment, right?

The mental image of this about made me fall out of my chair. Can you imagine Malagus? "Guys! WTF...........you saved the kitten, didn't you?"

Priceless.

Funniest thing i've heard all day lol.

If I remember right that was the name of the bar on Nar Shadar (sp?) from KOTOR2. It was an aliens only bar to I believe.

My guild got assigned to Kinrath Spider so that's where I'll be.

By the sound of it, the Sith Inquisitor can tank well, DPS well and is best healer.
It will be played...to...death.

It can't be those things all at the same time.....

From what i read about the sorceror, it does alot of damage, can take alot of damage and can heal the best. Basically topping every chart in PvP.

But it can't do that all at same time. Trying to Heal + DPS drains your force reserves fast.
