It's interesting though, because David brevik is somewhat becoming the "voice" of the silent majority with regards to the Diablo fan-base. I'm very dissapointed by Jay's response and the attitude of some of other devs. This issue is clearly a personal one for these people.

You're talking about "Old School" Blizzard and the current one that happens to have the name.

For me, when I hear the word "Blizzard" in terms of gaming, I try to only think of the guys that developed Warcraft 1 & 2, Starcraft 1, Diablo 1 & 2, and what they accomplished.  And I'll leave it at that

I think you're on to something there... old school Blizzard, similarly to Bioware, is what was so great about Blizzard. Many of the old school devs (including the 3 founders of Anet) have left Blizzard leaving us with what is fast becoming an EA-ish monster.

Though dances are fun, think of how much time you'll be spending playing as opposed to just dancing. If you prefered Norn but liked the Asura dance, I would go with Norn. Thankfully for me, I like both the Asura and their dance ;-p

But no worries, I already have a friend who will log in on my account, and my wife's account, in order to secure our names. Now that I got everything covered, I can enjoy the Rocky Mountains :-)

And then i went back to my first love, ever since i saw them i just loved the Asura, and even tough you can barely see their armor due to their small size (tough they look the sweetest of all races in light armor) so its very hard to show off that Armor, i absolutely have no idea how to roleplay an Asura. Tough i left the Asura background and starterzone fresh before release. They are not the funny midget race one normally finds with small races, They are truely inteligent, but they give me no hooks for good roleplaying.

Its awesome tough, whenever this is your biggest concern for a game the night before release.

I think the stress test the other day was just to get a whole bunch of people's e-mails registered so it wouldn't bog down on pre-launch day, which is brilliant because the issues people had the other day can be ignored cause "it was just a stress test"

I bet with last night and tonight they are:

1- testing "go live" switch.

2- testing how many people respond to social media messages ("test in 10 mins", "test in 1 hour" etc.)

 

As long as it makes Friday 12-3am (sometime) EST smooth, keep it up!

That's what I keep telling myself, and every time they announce a Stress test I can't help but play... does that make me weak?

500k - 1 million worldwide playing in either NA or EU servers

If I'm not mistaken, I don't think GW2 is currently available in Asia (including Korea). Eventually GW2 will be available in Asia which I think will sky rocket their numbers.

I'm a huge open world pvp player and I thought I would miss it in GW2. After playing in all the BWEs and in all the stress tests, I can say that I do not miss it. I'll be focusing on WVW and so far I think it's pretty good.
