I have one that has gone unclaimed. Get it while it's good.

Both keys posted are now claimed. Still have two I can generate, if you'd like one, please PM me an e-mail.

Posting your e-mail in an open forum is a great way to attract bot-spam.

TSW dropped .04 points while I was sleeping, so it seems that a bunch of TSW haters came in and gave it a bunch of 1s. On the plus side, TSW is back on the 'most popular' list because of unique hits. Go Haters! Woo!

An e-mail is required to generate a key. Someone may have had one that went unclaimed. So no, we cannot just PM them to you.

Once you do start it up, I'd recommend heading over to the Newcomers section of the official forums. You'll find many threads on early combat, build, and gear advice (this game is much harder than most MMOs), opinions on which faction to roll (Dragon for faster PvP queues), and where to roll up (Arcadia if you're an RPer, Cerberus if not). Definitely read through some of the stickies in that forum, a lot of your early questions will be common ones. Good luck!

The cash shop does not sell anything you need to have in order to play the game through the 4th issue. Issues 5 and 6 are in the cash shop, but your first month's bonus points will cover one of them. So once you buy the box (or dl) you don't need to spend real money on anything else if you don't want. You get the whole of the main story so far and access to all of the PvP and endgame PvE content. The only game-influencing items in the cash shop allow you to progress faster, not bypass gameplay.

Like most MMOs expect elitism when trying to do Nightmare modes. You will see the spam easily enough. Otherwise my experience with the community has been positive.

Joining a good Cabal will help. Otherwise dont expect to do NM modes. Most are looking for you to be over geared so they can do a speed run with no challenge and no patience for new or undergeared players.

A few of us on the forums got an idea to create a custom channel called noobmares (type /chat join Noobmares when in game to join) and it's the first place I look if my cabalistas are asleep. Like the name suggests, don't expect uber geared or experienced players - though there's some who hang out there and help when they can.

The second thing I would recommend is using Agartha LFG wisely. Advertising for a beginner run does work and I've rarely waited longer than 15 minutes even on my alt who only has dps abilities unlocked. My alt has a cabal, but as it's a heavy RP cabal, I don't usually run instances with them, and when I do, it's usually elites for green-geared players.

So the retort to this is: Poppycock. You don't need a cabal. Sure they can help, but being polite, asking if you can friend people, being honest about your experience and abilities will get you a robust friends list from which to draw. And as there are really no tools for cabals, that's basically all a cabal is - a friends list with a green-colored custom chat channel.

I still have a handful of keys. If you'd like one please PM me your e-mail address.

One thing I found after my first week in Kingsmouth, was that I was starting to need more breaks than I was used to in an MMO. I found the story really engaging and the locations are spot on, like being in a virtual version of the real world (I'm from New England).

The setting was so real. The accents were so perfect. The animations weren't high fantasy, they looked like stuff martial artists could do (I was melee at the time). And then it hit me - the game was depressing me because it was just TOO real.

So I did the only thing I could think of - I turned my brightness way up.

Did this fix the problem? Not entirely, but it sure helped. Also getting out of Kingsmouth helped. SC has amazing stories - the League of Monster Slayers, Sam Krieg, Ami and her family, not to mention the Academy. You really get more into how the island has always been under occult threat and how they've always just dealt with it, and I started feeling more hopeful. Of course, I was totally hooked by the story from the moment I started it up, so I was really glad about that.

One caveat, however. Make sure to turn your brightness back down before you hit Egypt or you'll be blind for a week.

In TSW, Everything Is True.

Which means there are elves. They're just not what you're used to. They're short, ugly, have bad teeth, and are attempting to start a Marxist revolution in Romania.

As to the Factions - nothing like WoW. You can group up for dungeons and raids, you can chat with them, you can do anything except PvP, join a cabal (those are faction-specific) or bring them to your Faction's headquarters. Well, unless you're a sicko who likes watching bug lanters, that is.

The Cash Shop is not necessary for anyone. There is almost nothing in the cash shop that you can't acquire in game and what little there is still isn't Pay 2 Win. There are boosts that get you skills faster, but you can do that just fine by playing the game. There is literally nothing in the cash shop you'll need to spend money on. Most of it is fluff - vanity pets, the more unusual clothing, coupons to the barber shop or the plastic surgeon (both of which can also be paid for with in-game currency) and the usual 'server' transfer stuff (which only matters if you're a hardcore Fusang player as that's literally the only place your dimension matters.)

But with plenty of achievement-based clothing unlocks, plenty of clothing at the in-game vendors, and easy access to the materials to make all the consumables, there really isn't any need to get into the cash shop if you can't afford it.

There is one exception - the DLC packs are sold through the cash shop and cost points. If you are a free player, you have to buy points to get them. If you're a member, either by subscribing or by owning the Grandmaster Pack, you get a stipend of bonus points to spend on them. Or on something else, that's your choice, but you don't have to spend real cash on the DLCs unless you already spent your month's stipend on something else. And since DLCs are not monthly, those other months you'll have some extra for fluff or boosts.

My experience of the community is that it's the best mmo community I've seen since pre-dubloon Puzzle Pirates. YMMV.

If you want a 72-hour trial key, feel free to PM me your e-mail. I've got a bunch. That would give you the best idea of how your machine will handle the game. Plenty of people run the game below spec, with their graphics on low settings.

I'm Cressida in game, feel free to message me if you have questions.

Hey, I tried sending you another, but it didn't go through. It looks like the system will only send one per e-mail address. I still have about a dozen, so if folks want them, PM me those e-mails.
I have a few up for grabs as well. If you want them, PM me your e-mail and I'll get them out.

I'm laughing at you folks saying you won't play without an aouto group feature and laughing even harder at the ones who stand around agartha.

Some of us formed a custom channel and can get groups from there all the time. And that's not even touching all the great cabals out there. So I can hit up my cabal, or I can group with the folks in the custom channel we formed for pugging nightmares without standing around in agartha.

You guys do understand that custom channels are global and don't care about your faction or dimension, right?

I saw this video linked on TSW official forums and it's incredible.

Funcom should hire this person and put them to work creating compelling promo videos for the game.

So true. Heck, I bet they could get better videos from fans than they can make themselves. If they held a contest once a month for bonus points or something they'd never have to make a promo video again.

Maybe MMORPG firgures it's not a Secret if they talk about it.

I dunno. Anyway, issue 6 is pretty damn amazing. I can't wait until I have the tokens to get the whole outfit. Which will be a while after I get one of those hat signets.

If this had been a checkbox poll, I'd have checked most of the boxes. Mostly because it depends what I'm doing. My solo methods are dependent on which weapons I'm using. My group play is dependent on whether I'm tanking a boss or PvPing. I ended up just picking the one that's most fun in solo play.

I chose the top option because I do love the wheel and I'm fine with most of the animations, but I have to say that I think whoever designed the chaos movements was having a very uninspired day. There are a few abilities I use as a tank that even look the same. The only way for me to tell the difference between Karma and Escalation is to look carefully at the green ring. One is denser and broader. That's all the difference I see. These aren't the only two I have broblems with, and I really hope they improve them as I'm really enjoying both my farming build (chaos fist) and my tank build (chaos hammer). The rest of weapons seem fine to me - the Quantum Bracer is a stand out awesome success imo and I can't wait for the whip.

This is just my opinion but the builder and spender mechanic is boring.  Depending on what you have you push your builder 5 times then spend your 2 consumers and that’s it (1,1,1,1,1,2,3,1,1,1,1,1,2,3).  Of course there are other abilities in there for buffing or survival but that is about it.

If I’m missing something by the way someone please tell me ; D.  I want to like the game dammit ; D.

I loved the game theme and they do a very good job with the atmosphere and the music but I just couldn’t get over the combat.  The animations didn’t even bother me that much either compared to others.

You sound like you've got a build that has finishers that use 5 resources. There are other weapons in the game, you don't have to use a rifle. I kid, I kid! The point is that some finishers use less.

Bloodshot, as one example, is very good damage, and only uses two resources. So building to five and then Bloodshot Bloodshot Bloodshot is not efficient. The reason is how blood works. If you cut yourself opening with bloodshot, you get more damage out of your next blood abilities. A more efficient rotation is builder, bloodshot, builder builder bloodshot. The first builder is so you don't hurt yourself as badly on the first bloodshot. You consume your health based on how many resources you have available - if I have 0 resources Blood Offering ticks for about 40. If I have one available it ticks for about 20. But if I have two, I don't get the Blood Offering buff at all. Since it gives a 10.5% buff to blood abilities, it is better to open with a builder, and to then consume.

Very few people go blood even though it has great utility and good range. They usually go rifle/elemental. I can't say I blame them, I do like elemental, but I hate how rifle plays. Don't ask why, it just hasn't "clicked" for me. But there's plenty of abilities that don't rely on a 5 consumer rotation. I have an alt with a rotation like that and I play her when I'm tired because it's so mindlessly easy for me. So if you're looking for something more complicated, check around the wheel - there's some really good abilities in elemental that don't require five resources, too.

You mean the game that took its combat system from Magic has a similar metagame?! Really?! Even then its a less involved meta than even the likes of LoL offers thanks to how it subs in champs on a much quicker basis. Really the only major changes to the meta have come from the devs flatly nerfing abilities instead of fixing them.

Also, I started to breakdown your block of bullshit above and honestly its not worth the effort. I will retort your statement that there is nothing stopping them from doing what you propose as being amazing uses of the existing system, and that is their current design philosophy. Their 10 man lair quests are easily 4 manned without being close to optimized and they are plenty fine with that. They are plenty fine with completely broken gear (the elite proc helms for example) and easily overgearing/exploiting (when the bosses themselves are not bugged, I mean hell they completely disabled one of the raid bosses abilities because it was bugged and they could not get it fixed before they said it would be launched) the "nightmare" difficulty content. Also, as opposed to your "they go out of their way to be different" then why was if repeatedly stated by the devs that part of the reason the game did so poorly is because it was "too different". I mean joel himself parroted that everywhere for near 2 months!

I liked the game for what it was, I played the hell out of it and in my mind "beat" it, and I will likely go back and hit up the dlc when it finally hits, but the game is mediocre at best due mostly to its design intent. Even going past all of the bugs the designers really have no grasp on how to meet the needs of the different demographics they are attempting to appeal to. The appalling changes to the pvp system in an attempt to actually get it into shape as another shining example. Look at what Joel did with that on Aoc, and you really think its going to get better here? Seriously?

Ok, I don't normally post in these forums, but this is factually incorrect. The lair missions are designed for groups of 5 people. Not 10. There is a lair raid in the future, but right now only one of three missions can actually be completed by raid members. The other two have objectives that must be completed by someone in each group. Only the group with the person who completed the objective gets credit, so I don't see why you would think this was designed for 10 people. That you still get credit while in the raid group is a nice change for me from other games, but it does not mean that it was meant for 10s. It was meant for 5s. For that matter, it wasn't meant for 5 people in epics. Those mobs drop blues. It was meant for green-geared 5-mans.

Also false in your statement is that Joel was responsible for the PvP changes. He wasn't, so any other title he worked on is irrelevant. They're on their third (I think) PvP dev and he's leaving later this month. If the game were a PvP title - well it was never billed as one. Also, the "appalling" changes? To what? Fusang? Sure, one board out of three is broken. Guess what - Tim Donks (the current PvP developer) fixed the issue preventing the other games from happening at all and changed the third game so that it happens as much or more than the other. That's right, after 8 months I finally get to play El Dorado because I don't have to sit in the queue for hours. It pops after 20 minutes (usually sooner), a comparable wait time to Stonehenge.

Honestly, if you're going to bash the game, go for it. It's definitely not for everyone. But don't do it with untruths. That's just silly.
