Now, that is a scary looking helm. The guild xp bonus is an interesting option to try and get players to attach to guilds. I am wondering how well that will work. 

I think it works LOL, lots of recruiting going on and my guild got plenty of new cool people in, though we are very picky.

I love additional 5% and incoming plenty more for every 5 guild members :)

Additional 15% + 25% bonus + double xp weekends will be awesome :)

You will miss the best part of the game if you WON'T play on EMPIRE side.

Reps are nothing comparing to Imps!!!!!!!!! We eat them for breakfast!!!!!!

Never feel sorry for loving the game you play. Congrats for finding the game you enjoy to play. For me it is SWTOR with over 2,300 hours played so far. Not bored yet .

I never play MMOs in first person. It's great for single player games.

It's good that they have it optional, though I doubt I will play it that way.

I know there have been quite a few questions around paid character transfers so I spent some time rounding up the answers to the more heavily asked ones and here they are! If there are any that I missed please feel free to post them in this thread and I will see what I can find out.

How much do transfers cost?
Paid character transfers cost 1800 Cartel Coins per character. The purchase must be made using Cartel Coins.

How do I transfer a character?
Once the service is live in 2.2, you will be able to go to your account page here on swtor.com and transfer from there.

What happens if there is a name collision?
If your character name is already taken by another player on your new server, you will need to rename your character. Your character will be “flagged” for a rename once you login.

Will my Legacy, Achievements, and Collections all transfer with my character?
Yes! All of your Legacy unlocks, Achievements earned, and triggered Collections will be waiting for you.

What happens if I have a Legacy on both my source and destination servers?
Whichever Legacy is of a higher level will take precedence and become your new Legacy. This has no affect on unlocks, the unlocks from both Legacies will combine. For example: You are transferring a character from the Bastion to the Harbinger. The character you are transferring from the Bastion is in a level 27 Legacy. Currently on Harbinger you have a level 13 Legacy. After the transfer you will now have a level 27 Legacy on Harbinger which combines the unlocks from both servers.

Is there a way to transfer a guild?
There is currently no method in place to transfer an entire guild at one time. Each person must transfer their characters individually and recreate their guild on the new server.

I hope that clears some things up! Let me know if there are any major questions still pending that I missed.

Regret:

EVE - got 3 months of sub and played one day. After that logged only to work on skills, no idea why as I do not intend to resub.

WoW - played one day - what a waste.

Rift - started to play  at launch and played maybe a week.

Aion - played maybe 3 days

AoC - played maybe a week.

Regret NOT:

SWTOR - currently the only MMO I play and the absolute favorite. Sometimes I think that it was created just for me:) 100% match. Over 2,300 hours played so far.

TSW - played it for 2 weeks but I am going to revisit in one day (maybe), it was worth $15 I spent on it.

EQ2 - totally worth it. Played from 2004 to 2011.

LOTRO - although I played it only few months, I enjoyed it at the launch. Totally unplayable right now though. I have life sub. Maybe one day I revisit, but I seriously doubt it. The only thing I like right now about game is the world. Characters are awful, combat is awful, no voiceover after SWTOR is a no no....

SWTOR as I love it I love it and I want more of it

Nothing else is able to keep me interested for more than few hours

Yep. Plenty of roleplaying in SWTOR. My guild often holds RP events. Having actually 2 guilds one for Reps and one for Imps, we use Reps toons for faction events... nothing better than intelligence RP... with other faction toons trying to prevent us from achieving RP event goals. Plenty of fun.

Funny is how many places SWTOR has to explore when you actually want to RP... especially sneaking into enemy teritory with plenty of guilides, killing champs and PvP during events... really good stuff.

There's this wonderful thing called voice chat. You know, actually talking to another human being with your voice. 

Not everybody use it. And some people can't. I had a very good friend in guild who was deft. We played a lot together. TS was not an option here.

I tried WoW long time ago, paid for box $40 or so, played it one day, got bored. Cancelled. Uninstalled.

I don't see myself going back to play something I did not play even though I paid for it only because it would be F2P.

Well with WOW losing about 25% of it's player base over the last 2 years and SWTOR lost about 75% ( mind you most of that was probably people who got the game for Christmas and/or love SW and thought they would try it , IMO ) then SWTOR is only 50% down from killing WOW.

In fact if you add up all the F2P people and the subbs then SWTOR has gained more than it lost and WOW has still lost about 25% even with the MOP expansion. It's chipping away at WOW.

I thought it was worth about 4/5 ? For sh**s and giggles ? No the main point is WOW has been chipped away at by the amount people that are leaving at , who knows what they have gone off to do instead but yeah. It also depends on how much money the F2P and preferred crowd spend on SWTOR , o didn't they mention that ? Anyways if they spend about $15 or more a month then indeed SWTOR has about 2.2 mil paying customers and from 500k - 1 mil subbs before F2P started then that's a hell of a gain and WOW has lost what is it about 2-3 mil users. WOW won't die anytime soon but it's shrinking matey boy :).Maybe i should become the Anti-SNG :P.

Wildstar will cheap away even more WoW players. On other side SWTOR as sci-fi is in other league, so I do not think Wildstar  will be a danger to SWTOR other than F2P players trying it. I personally am tired of fantasy MMOs. other sci-fi MMOs: SWTO and EVE never got me enough excited to play more than 1 day. Darn.. I subed to EVE for 3 months thinking that it will get me involved... I was logging just to advance my skills until my sub finally ended few days ago. Not going to resub, unless something is going to change in game and make it more attractive for newcomers. I intend to be subbed to SWTOR until the end, it's the only game that makes me want to log in and play MMO right now. I love classes, I love my characters (21 of them), and I have so much stuff to do still in game that I do not thing I will get bored any time soon. I bet the new expansion will come earlier than that LOL.

My golden rule is... if I get bored after 1 day in MMO... I quit.  Tried WoW and lasted one day as well :) but that's fantasy. EQ2 and LOTRO were the only games that lasted longer, but I got bored of them eventually.

It's even more probable as don't all games disappoint the hype? Not that I wish it. The more good games on market the better off we are. Competition is always good.

From other side... SWTOR brought so much disappointment for many  SW fans (not for me, I am obviously loving the game) that they do not have to worry about hype. If the SSSP will bring some cool things and something new and refreshing it will be a success.  Will it bring millions of fans? I do not know. Probably not, but it will definitely keep SWTOR population healthy.

I am Sci-Fi fan and of course I tried EVE. I got completely bored after 1 day. The concept is interesting, but it's just boring.

I read so much good about this game that I subscribed fro 3 months LOL. What a waste....

But then, I understand that some people like it. It's just not my piece of cake. I much prefer SWTOR

Character transfer from APAC starts on June 4th. Folks can transfer to any server they wish.

I know you have been waiting a bit for an update and I wanted to pop in and do exactly that. Starting on Tuesday, June 4th, you will all be allowed a free one time transfer for each character you have on an APAC server. In the last update I gave I told all of you that we were expanding where your one-time transfer could go to include all NA-West servers. After seeing quite a few requests to expand it further, we are going to allow you a one-time transfer to any SWTOR server. To reiterate, starting on Tuesday, June 4th, you will be allowed a one-time transfer for each character you have on an APAC server to any other non-APAC server.

This is laughable.  I play GW2 & Rift, and there is always people everywhere i go.  There is also people in Swtor too.   You are trying to measure a game's population by one "zone", which is ridiculous.  Populations in all MMOs are spread throughout the entire game.  They are never contained in one single area.

To give you idea how population looks on The Ebon Hawk on Empire server: Level 1-10 planets from 100-200 players, Dromund Kaas 2 to 3 instances around 300-500 players, Fleet - 2 to 3 instances ~ 350 to 600 players, higher planets have usually 2 instances ~ 70-140 players each. Makeb right now runs 3 to 4 instances - 200-300 players, When I am on my ship, there are from 40 to 60 people just on my class ship, Not sure about OPs and FPs, but people actively looking for OPs and HM FPs. Being on planets, general chat is active with people looking for heroics.

Based on my observation, person who plays every day,  game is more active right now that ir was 2-3 months ago.

And I know that The Ebon Hawk is not the most populated server as it is RP server.
