Working on crafting so I can unlock my ships. There are 2 hooks on Tatooine that you can place ships.

You're living the life of a highroller, Seven!

Considering that the only decorations in my Strongolds are legacy sorage and mailboxes... and couple of droids.

Crafting is going to take considerable amount of time and we craft right now for guildship, so we can get some stuff.

Oh well.... I guess I have lots of time to work on all of them...

Agree. We are conquering Makeb right now. Crafters are busy with making components for guildship stuff. Everything you do gives you a chance for items for strongholds.

No time to talk LOL, got to conquer makeb... competition is tough.

View from my  guild's guild ship

So far I got DK and Nar Shaddaa fully unlocked and Tatooine with no unlocks (pricy little one and I am not going to work on it yet).

This places are huge and it's going to take enourmous amount of time to properly decorate them.  My favorite is DK but Nar Shaddaa is awesome too, and the space for a starship is just awesome.

Tatooine has a great feeling of being in open space, though beware of exhaustion zone if you wonder too far.... the evening view from cliff balcony on two suns is awesome. It's so spacy - it feels like the entire village is yours... definitelly canons are necessary there....

Great job devs, Just what SWTOR needed - a perfect time sink that was missing in game... it rreally takes a lot of time to get this furnished LOL.

But DK is my focus right now... so far managed to place legacy storage and mailbox in entry room  /grin.... way to go...

My guild is already planning on revisiting all the FPs and OPs. I have to get all schematics for my crafters and get to work on them as well.

  • Mounts, pets, and companions can be placed as decorations in your Stronghold.
  • Guildmasters can purchase a Guild Headquarters at any Stronghold Directory. This purchase requires a Guild Bank with enough credits.

  • Decorations may be purchased for Warzone Commendations and Fleet Commendations at the Starfighter & PvP Decorations Vendor on either Fleet.
  • Jawa scrap materials can now be obtained by earning Conquest rewards.

Welcome to SWTOR:)

I took a day off work today and I am going straight to Dromund Kaas. Unlocking everything, distributing rooms among my sith fellows, hope they won't fight for rooms as it can get messy.

After that I am going to go to Nar Shaddaa and get my free apartment there. Set my agents there, they are more civil so I do not expect much blood on the floor.

After that I will go to Tatooine to get my Bounty Hunters place.

Coruscant is the last place I will go, I will pack all my rep toons there.... probably in one room for a starter LOL.....

Then I will start to figure out what I have to do to get items i want to have... sigh... seems I am going to get busy for a lifetime.

Dang it... I am going to work on it on weekend LOL.... no hot pink colors though...

Like many others, I have played all the games you mentioned.  Since you talked about playing with your GF together, this narrows the list down IMO.  First off someone mentioned SWTOR,  I suggest you skip the game.  Its the one game I didnt find appealing playing with someone else.

I think TSW or Guild Wars 2 will honestly provide the most fun for both of you.  TSW is very different story wise but the only issue I see is the potential end game issue.  If/when you finish it, there isn't a whole lot to do.  Guild Wars 2 has a bunch of stuff to do and adds new content during seasons.  I also found playing GW2 with someone else was a great experience and I had lots of fun.

All the games you mentioned are good, I personally think Rift and LOTR, unless you are both big time LOTR fans will be the games not best suited for what you said.  In the end, I hope you both find a game you can enjoy!

SWTOR is awesome for duo. Actually it's in my opinion the best MMO to play with frend.  I do it all the time. The cutscenes include both players and their companions, NPCs recognise that you are in group and have sometimes fun remarks about it. Dialog wheel's answers are won byt the highest roll, so it's sort of competition who win this time.

Example of full group FP cutscens..

As for other games.

GW2 is pretty but I found it boring real fast. I found action combat not to my liking though.

LOTRO is OK but it's getting old, and characters are very "wooden".

FFXIV I gought it and played one day. No voice over or little and you have to like the eastern style. Combat is boringly slow.

TSW is a great MMO but grouping can be frustrating. There are plenty os solo instances that you cannot enter with priend and you have to do it separately.

EQ2 is a pretty good game, has a lot of content and pretty well established.

The only games that I could play longer that week or two are EQ2, LOTRO, TSW and SWTOR which is my main game and I play it from December 2011.

You're confusing  Concurrent Users with Monthly Active Users (MAU).

When a publisher or developer of a free to play game speaks of "over one million players logging in each month" they don't mean all at the same time (concurrent users). They are referring to MAU, which is the number of unique accounts that have logged in at least once during that time period.

Nope.  I am just comparing SWTOR to similar sized microtransaction games.    They all have maximum concurrent users of anywhere between 100k - 150k, and generally support players bases of about 300k  users.   It is entirely possible for them to have a million users per month, but SWTOR would have a ridiculously low retention rate.

Where does your concurrent player number come from?  Is it something you've thought up yourself, something you've read or something a developer actually said?  Because when Eve Online was showing concurrent users, they were showing 65k or so users with a subscription base of close to 500k players.  CCP is only company I'm aware of that released concurrent player numbers on a regular basis.

CCP doesn't "release" concurrent players, it shows it on the log in screen :-)

Actually, in theory SWTOR shows it too, but it's much harder to gather all this information. It's possible though.

SWTOR shows how many players are in every instance of the game: planets, ships, FPs, OPSs, etc. For example:  I was working on completing my achievements on Dromund Kass: instance 1 had 138 players and instance 2 had 52 players (had to switch as mob I was after was not available in instance 1). So Dromund Kass had  190 players in the morning concurrent.

You can do the same for every planet, instance etc. . It could be a major effort, but it's possible to get players on all servers to get numbers from both Empire and republic. Sum it up and here we are. Might be tough to get OPs and FPs number but doable.

I am not aware of any other game which displays player number. In EQ2 you could search by who level etc o class etc... and find this data, I think it was by zone as well.

Actually they discontinued to sell physical identificator and the only one you get is for phones. It's also free. I still have a physical one, I will get other when it will stop working LOL. Worth to have to get 100 CC for just having it.

Nobody in my guild in SWTOR has more than 1 account. In EQ2 few players in my guild had 2 accounts. EvE - you don't have a choice you have to have multiple account.

Like someone else said, account-wide unlocks makes no sense to made other accounts. I have unlocked all inventory slots and all cargo bays account-wide. With added legacy storage on Tuesday, it has even less sense to make more than 1 account.

I just hope that BioWare can expand number of characters beyond 22 - I am pretty sure that it's possible. Why 22 and not 24 or 25 :).

They know that soon you'll be asking "Why not 26 or 27? Maybe even 30?"

LOL I guess so... but still... there is more space for characters than 22 on character screen :) - each page has 8 characters - so it makes sense to have 24 total and then next step would be 32

Point order, lM players is likely 1m accounts, they'd have no way to easily tell if a player had 4 f2p accounts and logged into all of them.

I've got 3 EVE subs now, but could be counted as 3 players.

So, what exactly is the difference between 3 players paying for 3 accounts or you paying for 3 accounts?  Seems to me that Bioware is still making the same money.  Your logic is flawed.

The game creates such a desire to play that people create multiple accounts, with multiple email addresses to play the game is a pretty good metric for success.  They purchase the multiboxing software to run multiple clients on one machine, or they setup multiple machines just to play this one game.  I don't think that's something I'd feel bad about if I had written the game.

I had 2 account in EQ2. I wanted to have more toons that could raid, but hell, I did not want to level each of them separately. Boxing is good for games in which leveling is a pain. You box 2 toons so you basically level just once. The point was to get to max level as fast as you could. Also the limited number of alts per account had to force players to get additional accounts if they are altoholics. Most of games in the course of years added options to purchase additional slots, but EQ2 did not have it in first few years. I actually later when they allowed that moved all alts to one account.

In SWTOR boxing does not make sense ans leveling is quite enjoyable in my opinion. And number of alts is not a problem as well.

Swtor is not a game that offers a real need for multiple accounts for one user.  Not like Eve or other games that required it for muling items.

Yeah. You can have up to 22 characters on one server x 17 = 374... I think it's going to last for a bit. Though I have to admit that I am running out of character slots on The Ebon Hawk. I have only one slot open - 22nd :(

Maybe BioWare will increase the limit LOL. I read on forum that somebody has 22 level 55 toons. I admit I am crazy about this game, but not that crazy yet LOL... gimmie one more year for that give or take....

Thanks for sharing :)
Maybe they plan to release it on mobile phones LOL... It seems like they are going backwards in time.

Next Tuedsay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited LOL.

On August 19th, all game servers,, and the launcher will be unavailable while we perform scheduled maintenance. Game Update 2.9: Galactic Strongholds will be implemented during this downtime. Details are as follows:

Date: Tuesday, August 19th, 2014
Duration: 5 hours
Time: 2AM PDT (9AM GMT) - 7AM PDT (2PM GMT)

As somebody who loves the EQ world and lore it sad that although I will of course try the game. I am not expecting it to be for me.

The graphic are not my thing but I maybe able to get around that.

What i am going to struggle with is this BS  limited action set system. I don't want to be strait jacketed. Give me 101 abilities, as many hot bars on screen as I want and let me choose which to use and how many i want to use at a time.

LAS is rubbish system that is designed just to give developers responsible for balance and easier time.

Remember that EQN will also be designed for PS4 controller play so 8 active skills max to map to 8 buttons.

EQN is targeting a completely new audience.

what? FFXIV will love to have a word with u :P

arrows , buttons and L / R modifiers plenty of buttons

"The good gamer does not blame ones peripherals , so to avoid hairy palms ".

Seriously though , I shall repeat myself yet again , I have and use 40 skills via my 360 controller for use within SWTOR. Also maybe he didn't watch last year's show. The reason they gave behind not having so many skills was because they don't want you focusing on your hotbars in combat but to be able to look at the actual gameplay. Blame the dev's not the peripherals.

I found a you tube video and I think EQ:N looks pretty cool actually.

But that's just me , still no leveling no me in game , shame as it might be a lot of fun.

Absolutely horrible. I hope they get rig of these flashes.. it hurts my eyes.

EQ2 graphics and characters beats this one - no question about it

At least in my opinion.

Looks very WOWish... I think I will pass.
