Thanks for your input. Unfortunately, that's your assesment based on generalizations. Cryptic made similar statements about Champions Online. While it is different and more action-like than City of Heroes, it's not exactly like playing Tekken or another action game (which is fine, btw). I like both the combat systems in CO & CoX. They're different, but "fine" overall. Look at the following write-up from VE3D.com http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/previews/57532/Sneak-Peek-at-DC-Universe-Online "So how does combat actually work on the PC? 'Essentially, the way the UI works is if you're in a menu on the PC, we give you a free mouse just like you would expect on the windows. It's a hardware mouse, not a software mouse so it should act exactly the way you would expect it to do. The difference is that when you get into combat, we put you directly in control of your character. There is no auto attack, you lose the mouse pointer and you get a little assist reticle and wherever you look, you punch.' I'm not completely sure what this means. This is the most I've seen recently regarding how combat works on DCUO. |

Can you post a link referring to this type of combat? I have yet to see anything definitive. |

City of Heroes: Short Going Rogue Interview

Originally posted by jaxsundane Not to get into a point/counterpoint but that's the exact opposite of what they've been doing. This is a whole new release with new storylines and missions. If a former player doesn't want to jump back in, that's understandable. It's not the same as "running out of ideas" though. |

I'll admit that I'm slightly disappointed that we won't see the Mission Architect feature for a few more months, I'm happy about a few things:
The future is bright, my friends. CoH/V continues to be an innovative leader in MMOs. |

The negativity in this forum is amazing. I guess it's in vogue to be a pessimist. Regardless, for those commenting who haven't played since BETA (many of you), the Tabula Rasa has vastly improved. NCSoft is making an excellent move and should be commended. |

Very nice article. :) |

I continue to have fun playing CoH/V. NCSoft NorCal has made numerous enhancements to the game. It plays incredibly well. (I've been around since the first month. I was very skeptical of the game) To each his own. For me? CoH/V fits the bill. |

And here I was hoping for some kind of lifetime subscription or huge content update stuff. :) |

City of Heroes: Optional In-game Advertising in CoH

Originally posted by SpectralHunt The wedding pack is optional. To date, any micro-transaction items have eventually been available for free. If you want to bemoan about not having a tux or tiara, so be it. I certainly wasn't interested in it and as a result don't have it. ... Yet. |

Originally posted by Sovrath Based on your own statements, then we should take them for their word. They've kept up on their promise. There's a new game in the same genre due out next year, not including the rumored PS3 DC Comics project. One would gather there's plenty of reasons not to loose the "trust" or good feelings of their currently "exclusive" community. Your last statement raises decent interesting questions. However, there's plenty to speculate on. There always is. For now however, they've kept their promise and provided an out for those who do not wish to participate. For these reasons, the least we could do is give them the benefit of the doubt. They've earned that. Should you choose not to support, vote with your dollars. BTW, while I know and understand (and have grown up in the cable age) where you're coming from, I don't remember seeing commercials during a movie or show on HBO. :) In between and on other channels? sure. I guess my tolerance is greater than some. Best wishes & happy gaming. |

City of Heroes: Optional In-game Advertising in CoH

Originally posted by damian7 If you play the game, you'd know that they've made significant changes to the game since November. You'd also know that through issue 12, content was all planned via Cryptic. Issue 13 is the first NCSoft NorCal release not under Cryptic's direction. It takes time to put out content - especially if you have a small staff. |
