Star Wars Galaxies: Twelve Servers to Close in October
News Discussion « General Discussion 9/15/09 2:16:15 PM
This shouldn't be a sad thing. They have needed to merge servers since I stopped playing over a year ago. They said they couldn't technically do it, but I believe it was pride. SOE is the "Bagdad Bob" of the MMO world. |

For those still playing, having more people per server can only help.... for a while. |

So what do you think about the new MMORPG.com page design?
Off-Topic Discussion « General Discussion 1/27/09 6:27:41 PM
I like the new "layout", but like the old "look" better. The gray should be a little darker maybe. Everything seems washed out. |

Anyone ever play the game Monopoly? Or have you only heard of it? |

It's funny, the things you mention that you don't like about the site, especially the forums, is what makes the site entertaining. And you have just added your own little bit of performance for the rest of us to enjoy in some small way. |

So...
Clear Skies, Sunny with a high of 102 in Flaming Skull. Sanguine is Partly Cloudy and a 40% chance of rain in Ymir Tear. |

I'm surprised that this strawman argument continues to make the rounds. "Let's pick the worst possible crew position on a starship, show rightly how this would be boring, and then use that as proof that all starship crews would be boring and thus not implemented." There's a way to design this feature that would make it fun. All it takes is a designer and an audience with the creativity to imagine it. For one, you WOULDN'T implement the boring positions -- the same reason you don't implement the stable boy class in Fantasy MMOs. So there would be no transporter operator. The Crew positions would be those such as Weapons Officer, Helm, Doctor, Engineer, etc. You know, the Iconic Star Trek Crew. If you have a ship, but not the Crew to man it, then NPC crew could take over. Someone PM me when STO has Crewed ships with explorable interiors. Then I'll give it a try.
A - effing- men. Why not let people play parts of the bridge crew, of course everyone can still have and captain their own ship, when they want to solo. Then when someone isn't playing a bridge position, get an NPC to fill the role. Then if you're playing solo, you'll have an all NPC crew. |

Being f2p would be a good indication that it will be a grinder. I only played it a month or two, the low levels seemed to move quickly enough however. I agree about the nexon games though. I didn't like any except for Mabinogi. |

Mabinogi is a fun game. Doesn't have all the features you mentioned but it has really nice cell shaded "cute" graphics your GF might like, and has some unique features like aging and such. It's f2p with cash shop too. |

I think most people are Libertarian at heart. But many just don't really believe they can make it happen, or even work. |

"How many idiots do you no?"
Hehe, funny video. Although I find it ironic that you mention idiots but spell "know" incorrectly. |

I don't mind the blood on the screen, it just looks cheesy. It looks more like raspberry jam than blood. Gears of War did a better job at it IMO.

Originally posted by icecrossYeah, I liked Urgo too. For anyone who didn't know, it he was played by Dom De Luise, the director Peter De Luise's Dad. My favorite in SG-1 is Daniel. Haven't even watched Atlantis yet, but I have the DVDs and plan to see it soon. Someone mentioned Apophis, I hated that guy. He was the Bobby Brown of the system lords. Anubis makes a much better bad guy IMO. |

My brother and I got our girlfriends to start playing a while back. We were both very surprised at the avatars they created. Large breast and skimpily dressed. When we asked them about their appearance they both had the same response. "Have you ever seen how the girls dress at the mall?"

SOE station pass going to $29.99
General Discussion « Vanguard: Saga of Heroes 2/28/07 11:37:15 PM
Got this email tonight. I had to cancel, seeing as I only still play Vsoh.
Dear Station Access™ Subscriber, We want to give you some important information regarding your Station Access subscription. Effective April 2, 2007, the new monthly subscription rate will be US$29.99 per month (not including applicable taxes). We know that rate adjustments are never popular, but the increase is driven by our desire to provide our Station Access subscribers with a consistently high quality entertainment experience, as evidenced by our most recent addition to the Station Access subscription plan, Vanguard: Saga of Heroes™. You don't have to do a thing; you will automatically be migrated to the new monthly subscription rate under your existing subscription plan when your current subscription plan comes up for renewal on or after April 2, 2007. We appreciate your support and continued participation in our community. Station Access subscriptions are recurring, meaning you will continue to be billed at the appropriate subscription interval, until you affirmatively cancel your subscription. Subscription fees are subject to tax and value-added tax, as applicable. The subscription charges are in addition to the cost of the games that are part of the Station Access subscription plan. All game software is sold separately. |
