Fringers hate them both equally.  The temper tantrum has gone on for so long that I don't believe they really make a distinction between either group anymore.

Just pointing out that the comment here is an unfair generalization.  It seems to lump a group of people together and accuse them of all thinking and acting exactly the same way.  Imo, people are individuals.  It also accuses the whole group of hating other players.  So, people are being grouped unfairly and then accused of something inflammatory.  Many who post on this site, MMOfringe and other game sites dislike some of SOE's decisions, but have absolutely no dislike for current players, let alone "hatred."
Actually this post, imo, is just another example of just how unfriendly the SWG community has become.  It was one of the latest in a line of Community Managers that described the community as poisoned, largely by the actions of SOE.  I think he was right.  It really is a shame because I too found the SWG community to be absolutely amazing during my first 2 years of game play.

I'm glad SWG is coming out with it's GCW update soon. SWG is more improved then people give credit.
Some people say more possibilities before classes in SWG, but I disagree. EVERY class can be effective now. Every class has range in style of play, mele, ranged. It's no longer about the very few FOTM templets with the uberist mind dot. No longer is everyone running around in the same comp armor.
Sure SWG is far from perfect, but it is a solid sandbox with tons of things to do in the world. Crafting, open world housing, customization, war, guild cities, spaceship combat with ships very highly customizable
Beastmaster is back and can be mixed into any class. Autotarget works like the old days.
Expertise allows you to mimmick many of the old templet mixes.
The new GCW content coming looks nice!
SWG is still the best sandbox MMO out for all the many ways you can play it (not to mention it's space side).
Best thing SOE can do now is keep heading to sandbox roots in the future (not rollback). Let SWTOR have the WoW kids.
SWG has a new steam deal cheap. I suggest you vets looking for that Pre cu sandbox replacement look no further. The best replacement for Pre CU SWG is current SWG. Hands down. It is MUCH improved from the initial NGE (which caused me to leave the game).

Some of your statements maybe true but there are many , like myself that are looking for better MMO management in their Star Wars MMO and although it may appear the TOR appears to be WoW in Space, Bioware is running the show and that is enough for me to give it a try.

The Beta Players that notice bugs and other problems may keep their mouths shut to keep a Champions Online free ride. Its not the wisest of moves but its not the first time that money or trade has affected rational decisions.

I rarely Group because I have a real Life so when an MMO that comes out that allows me as a player to take advantage of my game play style , I play it. WoW is one of those games and SWG Pre-CU was another.

I have read this thread through and I am amazed at the lack of disrespect for another persons opinions and ideas on this subject. There appears to be a lack of moderation but since I have posted on this thread I am sure that this will be rectified.

Actually I'm not bashing the article itself.  I'm bashing how you represented EverQuest. 
For a 10 year old game, yes it *does* look pretty good - as you said.
But for the sake of proper representation, you could have at least tweaked your anti-aliasing like any self-respecting gamer would if they were playing the game.  It makes your screenshots look much worse than they should to be honest.
For a game that old, it looks amazing to me.  I'm biased, yes, but it's still true.  If those screenshots were void of all the "jaggies", it would have been better.

Everquest is old But its still being support and once again for the umpteenth time expanded. For MMO players with limited resources its still a good game but as far as those MMO players who moved on with the technology its only a part of their MMO history. I am glad you still enjoy it but then again I enjoy playing with a YoYo from time to time.

With the last two classes announced what bothers me is that most of the classes are either Jedi or Sith and limited to only about 8 Classes. Reminds me of another SW MMO that Now has a limited number of classes.

Love it or HATE it, SWG is Number 2 , Its been Number 2 for quite some time due to its double doody dummy Down of the CU and the NGE. SOE achieves the number 2 position for making some of the biggest mistakes in MMO gaming history outranking its Flagship 3rd ranked Everquest.

You have to respect the rating as far as MMORPG.com goes. Due to the upheaval that SOE
brought upon itself with the previously mention changes brought 100s of thousands new posters and lurkers to this site in an effort to make some sense in the now infamous, fubarstic mismanagement of the well known space franchise.

If you are going to play an MMO stay with your trusty Computer but if you have to consider a console , I would hate to say knowing my adverse relationship but I would chose the PS3 over the Xbox. SOEs MMOs that are due out soon will be on both PC and PS3
and the recent change to the slim model with 120gig HD for 299.00 is a good choice knowing that its is a Bluray player as well.

But recently in Sept , there was a required firmware update for the PS3 that caused problems for thousands of users. I speak about it on this months Rodo Report. But the xbox has more problems with longer waits for returned repairs. Consoles are what they are ..and as far as MMOS go its going to get a little getting use to compared to the experiences most of us have had on PCs.

I wouldn't have to take drugs and swallow a lot of pills to feel like I"m in heaven because I would already be in heaven, I would already be a god in the sky. Instead I am a mere mortal, forced into running in a rat race with no end in sight. A race with no finish line, only circles of pain and circles of darkness all throughout the race. I am stuck here with the rats and the prolls of this dark and dreary world when I'd rather be somewhere else, somewhere other than here.

He showed me the world's right before he died when the galaxy was ripped into pieces by the dark man, the man in the black suit. When he died my hopes and dreams died along with him. The galaxy was destroyed and so where my hopes and dreams.
Someday we will meet again, my galaxy, my friends, my lovers. Someday we will all meet again in the place where there is no darkness. The place where there is no time. And we will be happy again. We will love each other the way we use too. We will love each other the way brothers and sisters do when they are playing together. The way husbands and wives do when they are making love. We will love each other and the galaxy will love us back. All will be WELL!!!
But for now that love will have to wait. The galaxy is gone and the world as we know it is dead. I am lonely and scared, frightened and alone and I do not know where to run or hide. The only thing I know how to do is drink the juices of the green fairy, and smoke her beautiful grass. Until the day comes when I see her again, my galaxy, my baby girl of old.
