Enjoyed this amazing game that is... until today
General Discussion « Guild Wars 2 4/17/13 6:42:17 PM
The biggest issue with Guild Wars 2 like most mmo's there is no end game content nothing to strive for. I got 1 level 80 and said i don't want to make another class and play the same game again. So I got my guardian level 80. At the moment I hit 80 i had a full set of gear from AC with weapons and they had all the runes and sigils in.
After that I was like what now? I do not see the point of the game, WvW and get what? Legendary weapon? Is the time worth is to me no. Every theme park MMORPG fails, and no developer has figured this out. Why spend 5+ years making a game to were I can blow through it all in a month. It does not make sense. Then they give the players tools to make content but that fails BECAUSE those tools are very limited and not rewarding. |

Which of these dead MMO titles should not have been shut down
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 4/12/13 7:58:34 PM
We all know that the shut down of SWG was not planned there is now way they would have worked on all of those updates just to release them towards the end of the game. It was George Lucas being dumb as usual and he ruined a great game twice. Sony revolutionized the game industry with SWG, and it was closed down for unfair reasons, and I would pay for this game to return. I hope Disney can fix all the mistakes Lucas made.

Why is it bad to pre order a game but ok to pledge hundreds..maybe thousands on kickstarter?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 4/07/13 1:51:56 PM
The two scenarios are different in this way. Pre order: The game is already done and is being moved to be sold or they are setting up the servers. Kick Starter: Game is not developed and it could end up sucking.
Pick your choice and yes there is a right answer |

Kickstarter / CU no funding (combined) topic
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 4/06/13 4:51:45 PM
This will not be the end of the Pc Gaming Platform at all. The only people suffering are those that are willing to donate to the companies. Yes you get all of those cool bonuses but I am going to ask you this IS IT WORTH IT. I mean come on you get a lifetime subscription, but how long will you actually play the game. Please keep in mind the game is not even fully developed yet. So you are paying for an unfinished game (or buying a game owned by EA)

So about 90% of you don't know what an investment is. When you invest in a business you are hoping for a payout to get more money. Well on Kickstarter you are donating to that company and then you can continue to pay more unless they offer you the game at release, but look at the facts people.
If a game needs kick starter to be successful then you should probably avoid putting your money into it. NOT ALL GAMES but most of them.
I don't believe in using kick starter for mmos but if they want to continue using it then go ahead I can't stop you. |

The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 4/06/13 12:35:10 PM
The idea behind the Kick Starter game sounds nice but lets be realistic. Lets just say that a company did release a game but then the game turns out to be very poor. Well everyone who invested lost money on the investment and the purchasing of the game. Because those companies were only obligated to create the game.
The problem is those games can change and suck afterwards, and they legally did what they said. So no Kick Starter games are not better, and I think that if a developer needs support from their community to develop a game they either should stop trying to make it and work for a well established company. |

Mark Jacobs and Company - Please do not REQUIRE monthly fees to play.
General Discussion « Camelot Unchained 3/21/13 10:16:22 PM
I have established half of you don't know what you are talking about. Paying for a game does not get rid of trolls and immaturity. World of warcraft BIG example. That whole game is made up of trolls (not literally but there are a lot of trolls) RUNESCAPE. Another huge mmorpg filled with trolls. You can't argue that subscriptions are going to get rid of trolls because it does not work that way. It is a game whether they pay for it or not if someone wants to troll they will troll.

No it has done horribly and has given more people a reason to hate the game it. This is the most restrictive system I have ever seen. Lets see what they restrict 1. exp ?2. Money 3. Flashpoints 4. mission rewards 5. Gear level 6. pvp 7. skill bars 8. Everything is more expensive 9. crafting skills much much more. The point of this is they are nickel and diming us on everything. They are the most cheap skate gaming company i have ever seen. At launch 150$ for a collectors edition and now this. No wonder they are so hated.

Why TESO wasn’t designed as a true sandbox MMORPG
General Discussion « Elder Scrolls Online 3/03/13 12:47:45 AM
Not to come off rude, but you messed up with this.
Why TESO wasn’t designed as a true sandbox MMORPG
That title will never work. A TRUE SANDBOX mmo everything is created by the players. They run the market they gather the supplies there are no Npc's the players have to get everything. The reason this game could never exist is because all the players would be farmers and miners. Not to mention that It can't have a learning guide of any sort because that interferes with how the players learn and control the game.
Now personally as far as sandbox like mmorpgs that are being released Arche Age will probably be the most successful. Which is why I am waiting for it. |

Over 30, come out come out wherever you are ...
LFGame « General Discussion 3/03/13 12:42:32 AM
The sad truth is there are no games out there that will keep you entertained. There are a lot of good games out there but when you break them down you notice a pattern. THEY ARE ALL CLONES OF ONE ANOTHER. Look at it Guildwars 2 was a good game while it lasted however it lacked end game content. This is the issue every game has they can't create enough content, and the players don't want to create it. That is why sand box mmorpg's fail all the content is player created.
So let me answer your question the best way I can you seem to dislike sandbox mmo's (EVE) which means you are a theme park guy. Try Guild wars 2 and if that fails the WOW train leaves at 6. |

Would you play an MMO that made you exceed average results on an IQ test to participate?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 1/26/13 10:59:37 AM
Instead of a game testing people to say you are smart enough to play why dont they just make a game for smarter people. Saves time and those who can'/won't figure it out will leave saves time and it is not discriminating towards anyone else.

[Column] General: Sexism in Gaming 2012: Anger & Intellect
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 1/25/13 11:59:05 PM
This post will be from the perspective of a guy, so I am going to try and explain what we think and if I say anything rude I am not meaning to. Guys want to feel tough or want to feel superior to the next person it just seems to be our nature we are very competitive. Some will deny it, but we always pick someone that we want to aspire to be and maybe surpass. Now we want to look manly or tough in front of other men if we don't it makes us look weak. Which is why guys rarely cry we think it makes us look weak and are generally laughed at unless we are under extreme physical and sometimes emotional pain. Brief intro to the explanation ^ So why are guys sexist in games? Well a lot of guys when hanging out with friends will do things like insult girls and many times will hit on girls. Throughout history men have always looked down on women and those who do look tougher and are generally physically stronger than others. So why dont some guys stand up to this? The answer is simple it makes us look weak even in a game we don't want to be the enemy we want to be with the crowd. Also since it is the internet it does not matter if someone curses and threatens you we just curse the guy out that is just what people do. More Detail Summary Below v To sum it up guys want to look tough and it is the internet we think you want to curse me out I will do the same to you. The best thing to do is realize on games sexism is a big thing but don't take it to seriously want to annoy his report his account and hope he gets banned. |

Most of the people in the "CATS" which was what we used in grade school wondered why I was not in it. This is what I get for an Arizona education... Which is now why in high school I have basically resorted to taking all AP math classes and science classes and next year is my junior. I go after school and have the physics teacher and AP Chem teacher teach me something and I take online classes.
The reason that they have become less popular is because there were some studies that showed motivation played a large amount of the test scores so if there was an incentive to do well then they would score higher. They also stopped doing it because it could discourage some students because you will get people who think that they are all high and mighty because of their IQ. If someone tries to do that I say that I reply " Good for you now what have you done with it" That pretty much shuts them up. The point is people are only looking for something to brag about which is why atleast Arizona and Jan Brewers all mighty wisdom >.> Don't give them out anymore. |

I like your idea, but I take it in a different meaning. By the way, the 50 cent coin John f Kennedy is on it I believe. Now back to the idea. Your idea of a IQ test is wrong because while I have not taken this test some people say "are you a genius" to be honest I don't need to be a genius nor do I care if I was instead of making a game for people of superior intelligence-genius (120-145) the industry should make the games more challenging and put a learning curve in there. While people of higher IQ's would be able to figure it out faster they will still have a fun time with it like a puzzle.
The gaming industry has dumbed everything down which gives us nothing to learn or figure out. Take the game EQ as an example starting out you needed to figure how to travel to the different parts and learn their skill system. This was their learning curve which has kept a lot of people interested in the game.
I will take myself as an example I hate easy tasks for instance school work that is easy = busy work to me which makes it a chore. I do it, but I procrastinate which generally leaves less time to sleep. So if games put a learning curve in and did not make it a WOW copy they would keep more people. But this is the age of idiots were if a game requires any sort of learning people will leave. |

Tied For First SWG and GW2 Second Place Aion Third Place EVE
The tie for first place is kind of obvious best themepark game to date and the best sandboxish mmo to date (before shutdown =( |

The problem with this freemium model is it is too restrictive, which is what we have all been saying.
Now the point of a freemium model is to let players join the game and help more people stay consitently. Then later they should subscribe. Now the thing with this is the new players will get frustrated with the lack of freedom that they have with this game which means that they are not getting new subscribers.
All i am going to say is i loved the StarWars aspect of the game yes i was a SWG refugee. But the issue was they did not fix bugs with the game big one XALEK IS STILL BROKEN!!!!!! This has been there since launch no fix. They dont seem to listen to the community that often. But lets get back to their model.
THIS IS THE WORST FREEMIUM MODEL IN ANY GAME THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN. The restrict how many quickbars you can have who thought of that? It is soo stupid. You can only do 5 warzones A WEEK. That is dumb YOU CANT USE ARTIFACT GEAR. So the whole point of doing warzones and flashpoints is now gone due to that. |

I find the best mmo's are the most complicated because that will get rid of any idtios and trolls because they will complain that the game is to hard.

Is anyone else real mad at SOE ? ( Poll )
General Discussion « Vanguard: Saga of Heroes 9/22/12 9:19:06 PM
Sony has done nothing to this game since a while after launch, and then it was buggy and not worth the money i spent on it. The bes tthing about Vanguard was the Collectors edition box i got, literally the box was better than the rest of the stuff they gave me. I still have the box but i think i trashed the rest of it lol. But the problem with sony is they make a bad mistake with a game then they shutdown and move on to the next one. Swg they gave up on that EQ2 has bugs vanguard failed, they dont notice the trend with their games THEY ALL FAIL EXCEPT FREE REALMS OF ALL THINGS. |
