Please do not post articles like these. You shouldn't either post in favor or against any game and should be always the neutral party.

Articles likes these only add oil to the flames of hatred to wards the game.

Whenever I hear the word eso's economy I laugh. It's an oxymoron.

Eso does not have an economy.Your guild has one.Eso does not have one.Get it ?

Oh yeah? what about all the people who prefer selling their stuff in zone chat? those prices are not dictated by guild store prices.

So yes there is economy outside of guild stores.

Stuff hardly sells in guild stores because of saturation of similar products. And you have to cut prices so much that you hardly make any profit and on top of that high guild fee to post items on  stores makes me stay away from it.

I only and only sell my stuff through zone chat and i am not the only who is realised that Guild Stores are utterly useless.

I wonder if you guys even play the game or what.

This game is getting almost no attention, far less than ESO anyway.  It's now not far off release and still almost no interest at all.

A lot of the complaints aimed at ESO affect this game too, so do you think this game will fare better or worse?  One of the main reasons I initially wanted to play the game was the updated wow style characters, now that wow is updating all their models that seems less of a pull though.

So yes, will it get as much hatred or just go almost unnoticed?

I will answer your question with another question..

Will Wildstar release as a buggy mess like ESO?

Amazing how players expect a new game to have cutting edge gameplay and graphics, and yet still launch with absolutely no bugs!   And not just a game but a multiplayer game which adds even more layers of complexity,

Wasn't Windows Vista a buggy mess at launch?  In fact haven't most Windows versions been so?  And they probably had far more people working on them as well!

It ain't easy folks, and its easy to sit in the armchair and criticize.   The fact that many enjoy the game despite this, means they have done a reasonably good job IMO.

You know its very important to read carefully before replying. The guy you quoted said nothing about games releasing with absolutely no bugs.

But there is an acceptable limit to which one can tolerate bugs and in that case patience varies from person to person. I have played a lot of MMOS at release and so far AOC and ESO are the only two MMOS which really tested my patience where i had to just give up.

I  have tested Wildstar though and its not a mess like ESO.

I hit 50 last night. So my future sub now depends upon veteran ranks. And so far all i have heard is complaints about Veteran ranks even by the most patient players in my 5 guilds who are in love with the game. So something is definietly not right.

Anyways, i will start veteran leveling tonight so i will see it for myself.

Our group had a buggy dungeon quest last night...eventually it worked.  I do think the population has thinned out quite a bit.  I'm not sure if it's just thinning out from people leveling or people quitting might also just be people not logging in nearly as much, but not quitting altogether.

I just don't see much to keep entertainment going for any length of time...the PvP is just horrible since it's all the land is way too vast to facilitate much combat.  Not having a good ranged ae method to counter zergs makes zergs the most efficient means of combat.

Despite of what people tell you about leveling speed...a lot of players have already hit 50. So yes population has been thinned out a lot.

I hit 50 last night and let me tell you that there is no shortage of people in that area. You wont find that many players now in low level and mid zones.

I will be starting with veteran ranks now and check out whats the big deal about because so far not one person in my 5 guilds have said that they are enjoying the veteran ranks. Gonna test it for myself.

Well my wife just purchased this for me for my B-day, so i am super excited waiting for it to finish DLing. DL servers seems to be slow or swamped... 120k a sec.

So who else got this 150.00 founders pack and are as excited as me ?

Sure the game is a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. I was finally able to purchase this game with my hard earned money for which i work 60 hours a week. The moment i purchased the game i knew it wasn't your average MMO. Yes all MMOS have levels, quests and your usual tasks and grind but AA is lot more special. Like 150 bucks special.

Sometimes my daughter complains. She will say things like 'Are we going to eat tonight?" and 'Daddy i am tired of wearing this dress with holes in it'.

But then i just show her my awesome Arch Age founders pack and she shuts her little b*** mouth.

Great game, do recommend. sarcasm post ever.

As if 6/10 is a bad score.

It is slightly above average. that isn't bad. It could be worse.

And for those making comparisons with SWTOR other than Ilum's debacle the problems of SWTOR looks like minor annoyance compared to ESO.

*patch notes come out with steps in the right direction*

"They are just doing that because of the negative response/it isn't good enough right this second"

Don't get me wrong, the game will always have issues and it is lackluster, but it is funny to watch the haters fall on their face. God I love these forums.

Been reading a lot of posts here for few days but i have yet to read where someone said 'they will never fix the game'.

Just making up stuff as you go?

Next poll:

Shall M´aiq the Liar tell the truth? Hell, even this would be more meaningfull.

If we start using your logic then half of the forums would dead.

The purpose of this topic is to discuss among the gamers regardless of whether it has any effect on Zenimax or not.

I really wish grouping was a bit simpler...the phasing system needs to go; however, it seems hardwired into the game.

The story seems pretty decent, but it also seems like ESO wants to do everything in its power to make sure you play solo outside of dungeons.

As far as exploration, you need a horse to get around at any reasonable pace...and that seems a bit disingenuous. You're going to need to pay 20 bucks or 42k gold to explore the world (with vast emptiness in between)

Far as I know group phasing is fine, and has been since launch. I think the big complaint is that with quests where you have to pick up x things or free x prisoners, not all in the group get credit when someone picks a thing up or frees a prisoner. Not all the quests are like that, most have shared things within group and with all other players around.

The horse thing is crap. It doesn't take long at all to buy the 42k horse, and the CE/palamino horse is equivalent to the 17k horse, even when feeding it on every cooldown you'll have less stats on it by the time others can afford the 42k horse.  This is why no one paying any attention buys the 17k horse with gold, they just skip it for the two or so days it takes to get the rest of the money for a good horse.

2 days to get 40K? please share the secret with us. I play a lot and at lvl 34 i have 26K in total. And i still need more bank space and inventory and repair bills are getting huge.

So how do i do all that and still have spare 40K for horse. ¨Please do tell.

Didn't watch the review.

Anyway, if it is his personal oppinion, sury why not.

If you see it as a review in context of all the other themepark MMOs out there a 5/10 is nonsense for ESO. A 7/10 would be more accurate.

But of course extreme reviews generate mre clicks. ;)

5/10 is average and 7/10 is above average.

Extreme review would be more like between 1 to 2 out of 10.

Since when calling a game average is extreme?

It's extreme because reviewers don't use ratings that way. Usually 5 is a bad game, 7-8 average, 9-10 great. 1-4 is nearly never ever given to a game unless it is really crap. The ratings are not given in a linear way (hope that makes sense ;) ).

Look at Angry Joes own reviews. GW2 is a 10/10 and ESI is 5/10 ? Really. THose two games aren't really that different. Bot themeparks, both some RvR, in both you most content is soloable with some added dungeons. If action bars are quite similiar. 10/10 for GW2 was too extreme, 5/10 for ESO is the same just the other way around.

You are just looking at the final score and not the content of review. if you watch the whole thing he has praised many things about the game... PVP, exploration, music etc for instance.

So considering he didn't call ESO 100% terrible the scores make sense.

I think people are so used to seeing score like 8+ from big sites like IGN that 5/10 would seem extreme to them even though it means an average not terrible.

I think Angry Joe is amusing, but , PERSONALLY, i dont put any validity in his opinions. He liked GW2, I hated it and I really havent seen him review any MMO's Ive been interested in since then. He clearly doesnt like ESO, I do. So, obviously, we dont have the same gaming tastes, its that simple.

Also, I dont understand why everyone says the Imperial Edition is a cash grab. Yeah you get another race AND a mount for 20 more dollars. And? Lets use the MMO most compared to when any game comes out - WoW - it has several mounts on its cash shop for 25 bucks. Its a sub based game. No one calls it a huge money grab? Yeah you get another race, so what. Its not like its a super powered race. If you care about being able to play an Imperial on any faction then you could of just pre ordered and been able to play ANY race with any faction. I just dont get it, but thats just me.

WOW didn't release with a very expensive in game horse to push people towards horse in cash shop. Blizz added mount to cash shop much much later on .

And those horses in cash shop are not necessity but more like a fluff because mounts are easily obtainable in game.

Where as in ESO it is a necessity give then huge size of maps especially in PVP. Why you thinkin game people joke and call ESO a walking simiulator?

Your comparison with WOW's cash shop is completely wrong.

What? You didn't play Meridian 59, AO, UO, AC1, L1,SWG back in the day?

Can't take the opinions of newcomers to the genre seriously, /dismissed.

No need to qualify your reviews with your gaming pedigree, unless to help us understand what sort of MMOS you enjoyed playing to provide a better frame of reference on your opinion.

You really really need to get off your high horse mate. Seriously.

I'm not playing the game and doubt I will but , come on, lets face it, as gamers we understand most launches are rocky, perhaps this one more than others.  Regardless, I am sure they are trying to get a handle on these issues and players need to start panicking and acting as if the world is ending.

Eventually yes but you also have to understand that patience of people varies a lot. 2 weeks was enough to break a lot of players and hence all the negativity.

Every MMO gets stable in few months but how many have been able to retain a good chunk of players back as a P2P MMO? other than WOW which was 9 years ago.. not one MMO comes to my mind.

Umm..i would hardly cal that a review. Feels more like an impression than a review.

No problem, did you catch the part where he walked in on a mini-boss (spider) to complete his quest and the campers had twenty or so of the spiders on the ground waiting for the next one? Pathetic, how much worse can it get in terms of sucking the immersion right out of the game?

Yeah that really kills it. But for people who don't give a rats ass about immersion and look at quests like another hurdle to come over won't have any problem with this. They just want to get done with it and move on to next task at hand. majority don't care for immersion sadly.

When your scapegoating your game by using another game as your 'defense' to it, I'm sorry but its speaking volumes of having not a sound argument why your game isn't any good. Your comparing apples to orangles to make your spoiled oranges sound as if they were better.

Final Fantasy 14 isn't a perfect game, but what it does it does well and and in an extremely polished format. Its graphics style is much cleaner and polished (putting black and dirt on stuff doesn't make it suddenly 'better', stop trying to pretend it does), its combat system is old school but its well done and functions smoothly. Its story isn't bad by any means (if but cheesy). What makes it really shine (and I feel is what pushes it to be so well regarded)is its mechanics that are designed so well for the game they created.

Elder Scrolls Online... falls flat in many areas. To be fair, it sets itself up for such hurdles being an MMO version of a SINGLE PLAYER GAME.  Bugs and issues PLAGUE the game (something FF14 had far fewer of), which to be fair its somewhat acceptable to have some (though its a bit outrageous how many it has). The graphics are rather lackluster, using 'dark and gritty' to disguise over-all 'mediocre' graphics and textures that plenty of other games do better on. Its combat system works to be faithful on the series and I feel it does... though the series really the combat systems were always rather lack luster to me and it carries on this issue. Its 'progression' with levels I feel are relatively well done which all in all I think makes a good (not great but good) combat system when all components are put together.

Where it falls flat on its face is its immersion. The game just lacks that immersive feel people expect from an TES game, due to it being an MMo. That feeling of exploration is just gone with dozens of people being around you. The 'boss farming' only destroys the feeling of epicness you SHOULD be feeling in a game that is suppose to be about adventure. Its attempting to be a Singleplayer game in an MMo and that greatly hurts its immersion. Combined with the number of bugs, it makes the experience of the game worst off. It doesnt allow it to hide its flaws at all when your constantly reminded 'oh this is a cheap TES game with swarms of people'. Voice acting telling you how dire the situation is with the city being attacked doesn't create a tense atmosphere when that attack is pathetic at best and doesn't have any atmosphere at all to back it up.

In Short: Using another game as scape goat is a desperate attempt to point a finger another way to hide the problems with your game. If you are going to defend your game, you need to give valid points AND you need to do so without a bias opinion hiding its flaws by 'using another game' to try and dust them under the rug.

I don't know why you guys are surprised by low numbers of players participating in PVP.

When i think of ES, PVP is last thing to come to my mind. Well i am lying..i don't think about PVP at all when it comes to ES games.

And i am pretty sure i am not the only one who thinks that way.

For me ES is all about story, lore and exploration. No matter how fun the PVP is..i have zero interest in it.

I'm guessing people are supposed to care about some guy named Angry Joe then?

I wonder how many of you take a similar stand for other forms of entertainment say movies or music for example.

Because i have feeling that the people who get so worked up over a review for a video game have on more than one ocassion relied on review of a product before spending their hard earned cash on it.

I for instance has no problem with reviews. They aren't meant to make you 'care' but serve as an opinion which could be on opposite spectrum of yours.

I have no problem with reviews, I'm just curious who it is and why we should care. Seems like a sensationalist based off of his track record that reviews more to get a rise out of people than actually play and review the game.

Once are not suppossed to care. So there is no why.

And yes every reviewer has his own style and this is his. Just like how Roger Ebert had his own when it came to reviewing movies.
