I must admit i am an avid "Oblivion / Skyrim" player. So I went into Beta with expectations of those two games in my mind.
At first I was really worried that this really wasn't going to be anything like the elder scrolls. It had no sandbox or open world feel to it. I felt like I was being herded around quests. Then like a smack on the back of the head, I noticed I was free to wander around as much as I wanted to.
So at first like a lot of game they just show you how to play and then let you go like a freed prisoner.
There will always be things that people don't like, but you really cannot please everyone.
So after playing in multiple beta's I have to say I had a great time and I think elder scrolls is a breath of fresh air, for mmo's.
Is this game still likely to release at the end of this year?

This is one of the only games i'm looking forward too, this and ESO. I need that sandbox feeling, that normal mmo's just don't have. I am currently rocovering from a major heart attack and waiting for another heart operation, so I have plenty of time on my hands to play games,
I have tried a few different MMO's latley, hell I even tried WOW the other day but it wasn't for me. I'm currently playing SWTOR, while it is fun and a great storyline, sadly it gets boring fast. If it was made into a sandbox it would be amazing, we can all dream right .
So I will keep drifting around different games untill The Repopulation comes out and I can finally get back into a real sandbox game.
Meglomaniacal Opus, first impression. Uber Garden Introl.

Argo game play isn't too bad for a FTP game, better than a lot of them, but it is a typical grind fest and it sufers from the ported game syndrom. The bugs don't get fixed . The forums are pretty much dead looking at the dates on the posts. From what I have read there are hardly any people still playing. I managed to get to lvl 17 and did the pet quest, but I havn't managed to find a pet merchant in Inisum. The marker is there but no npc. So I figure that got taken out along with the vehicles. I noticed a post on their forums about the vehicles being taken out for some repairs, so I asume they did the same with the pets and that was months ago.
If you are looking for an mmo single player game because your board then go for it, but if your looking for a community don't bother.
I have been watching the progress of Ao for a while now and I even tried it a few months back. I am a massive fan of sandbox games. I used to play SWG back in 2003 and EVE-online which I still have an active account, both of those games good or bad brought out updates and EVE still does constantly.
Looking at the AO website there seems to be a huge lack of any meaningful updates over the past years, apart from money making expansions of course. My biggest concern is why it has taken all these years to improve the graphics and fix major bugs which I have noticed people asking for ?. It seems to me they gave up on it and just left a skeleton crew to keep the servers running and little else.
One day I will find another sandbox game to call home, untill then I will remain a game hopper.
