It plays better when I played earlier this year with the free month. Zoning is in every MMO, just vanguard is more seamless so zoning might feel a little stranger then a load screen. When you move from 1 chunk of land to the other it was definately more optimized though as an experience.
Endgame is getting there, but I never got to try it, quest work better. There was one major quest that was broken but it was "just" broken. A simple gm ticket gave me the quest item in a matter of minutes and I was off again doing my thing. The game feels alot more complete now definately though if you hated it before there probally isnt much more to bring you back. Diplomacy is still a mess past the low level quest. |

In lineage 2 it was easy to have 200+ people at a single castle siege without much lag on full settings graphically on a higher end rig, or a large raid like Antharas in the begining. |

Phantasy Star BB was the first online RPG on a console far as I know but it was far from MMORPG much like Universe.
FFXI bought the true MMO experience to consoles, massive amounts of people in areas, the grind and grouping with people at random without going back to port ect ect. BB and Universe are like very low tech versions of guild wars in their mission structure, with far less people in one spot per shard and no "open" areas which even guild wars had.
As for PSU, I got it for $20 new, a month after its release on ebay =P Apparently it bombed real bad but I found the singleplayer campaign enjoyable even if it wasnt to others. |

The art style and graphics work across the board is steady and stable. The game plays well, works well, PvE and PvP are not 100% balanced as per class but the best balance in comparison to even say EQ2 which is full PvE. I honestly dont know some games have the same to decent level of polish as WoW but WoW has a feel to it. It feels like a complete game when you play it moreso than any other MMORPG that I have played.
That said even if the gameplay is polished it has the most boring endgame in comparison to say old age L2 but thats because I think its raiding system is boring and the PvP is non existant outside of Arena. Battlegrounds get boring after a while. I am more a PvP nut and I thought old age L2 was the greatest experience with outdoor pvp and sieges. Problem is no one PvP's there anymore either :/. Sad as it is the only games right now that even remotely interest me is private serv L2 because the PvP is still as intense as it once was. I dont advocate stealing but retail is jsut no fun anymore and its not slow grinding. The grind didnt bother me I am just a pvp nut and competition nut in my MMORPGs that I enjoy the fun of crazy pvp lol. Anyway I strayed off, and my spelling probally sucks atm but I dont feel like fixing it. |

I have to say Grenado Espada, just because of all that fine detailing that went ino the armor. Sure the armors in that game are not very revealing but its more of a sophisticated beauty. Something unique in the MMO world~ City of Heroes/Villians is also different but nothing radiates sexy from that game lol. The other korean games basically have the same style of amor, just with different touchs. Dont get me wrong their sexy in a blunt way but cant win this fight in my mind. Too similar, too much cheap skin shows to get our attention lol.

The base gameplay itself, the base economy itself is far from flawed. What makes lineage 2 flawed and hard to penetrate is real people. Botters and Ebayers... the cheaters are the ones the drove the economy into complete dis-array. Coupled with the fact that alot of people hate to play spoilers and grind them up, lack of non-farmer spoilers is alot less materials on the market for pricing mixed with the fact that most adena buyers wont mind buying stuff for a premium ingame. prices never go down. The economy used to be very good, fairly hardcore but for a new player was possible to break into at an earlier level. Now the only way to break into the economy at a lower level is to make a dwarf as your first chatacter and spend alot of time either spoiling or crafting shots~ Those that were already high up have no trouble breaking intot he new economy because they have items that they can sell for inflated prices already and the ability to play the market game. It has gone from hardcore to almost impossible for a newbie. Now on to exp, I gotta say for a newbie just starting the game exping has gotten WAY easier from level 1 to 70. Now it wil ltake you alot less time, only problem is gear since the economy is all out of whack getting your gear will be near impossible unless you buy adena online or make a dwarf. That said I would actually recommend a new player buy 50m adena and keep it for soul shots and gear. Its the best $30 expansion you can get for the game that will break your virginity into the market and allow you to start earning. For those that dont want to cheat their way into the game though, I understand you and agree with you 100% go for a dwarf. |

I couldnt agree with you more on the halo 3 argument, but dont let the mass of kids who play the game hear that, they will pop a vein in your face. Trust me lol. On topic though, game reviews are entertaining at best and give you an idea of what the game is like, they even mention the resused tiles and the such but in their opinion it did not bother them but it might bother you, thats why you just use a review as something of a preview of the problems and highlights then either play a demo or make your own choice. To some a game that scores 98%, is a 1% in their own head, everyone enjoys different styles of games, different walks of gameplay. Everyone has their own tolerances and the such ect ect. I personally enjoyed the demo quite a little bit even if it was put together in such a hodge podge manner, took me a real look to enjoy it tho and I got to duel wield which was nice. Yea I kept looking for a way to the next area before giving up noticing that im never going to find it since it doesnt exist. That being said my only factor is payment since I am sort of a compulsive completist when it comes to games and I dont feel the need to spend money on Diablo in London when I can play all of Diablo is Fantasy land for free. To which avail I like hellgate london but hate diablo 2, strange eh? Proboally because I got tired of isometric RPG's which restrictive cameras once we moved past the voodoo 2 days of gaming glory. About how they got it? Usually companies send magazines a review release copy before everyone else can get their mitts on it, partly because when you can get yout mitts on it, it'll coincide with the review and might tilt heads towards the game that otherwise might of not looked at it given if its a good game. |

The problem is simple, site hiccups and internet explorer doesnt pick up on it. Finishs the file and shows you a "completed" file which in turn is not complete therefore corrupted. Reason why it might work better in FireFox is because firefox has a pauser and resumer functionality built into itself so it picks up when a signal is lost to the site. Fileplanet uses its own frontend though, but unless your a subscriber youde be better off using a download resumer or browser with it built in. |

You know what they say about first impressions.... a bad first impression of a game even in demo form is going to definately sway your opinion of the game. If you really disliked how the demo played out then what makes anyone here think they are going to go out and buy the game when they already have such a bad taste in their mouth. |

They basically want you to pay $10 a month for an online component guild ways gives you which is way better and free. Definately a buying factor for me and the reason I did not preorder the game. To basically get alot of the cool online features such as hardcore mode you need to pay.... really does not make any sense what so ever in a game like this. |

My card is the older AGP model.
Same thing happend to my Ti4600 when it was about to die out, difference was it did it in every game I threw at it after a few minutes, in this case it doesnt effect my other games and only vangaurd after a good 10 min or so.(even in character creation.. which im lucky to have the impulse to save my character design every few seconds. I had the latest forcewares installed for my system, my chipset is up to date..... ah well, just wont play for a while. |

Oddly enough my video card seems to be bugging out with this game. At times i'll see a flash of pretty colors and patterns(consistent with a malfunctioning capacitator on the chip). Problem is it only happens to this game(possibly ruling out it being a hardware issue unless my other games dont demand as much as this one to make it crop up). Anyone else with this issue in vanguard? I probally will try other stuff to see if I can fix this issue b4 I scratch the card but just want to get some answers while I do those things(update driver, ect ect ect). |

so avid PvP fans are idiots? here's an idea. instead of griping about the PvP community, which by the way play PvP games, how about playing a game without PvP. there are plenty of great non-PvP games out and coming out that anyone would be interested in playing. simple huh? this way everyone gets what they want and neither side has to listen to the other cry(carebears) or laugh at them uncontrolably(PvPers) or just play Spellborn and we'll see each other in the mines^^ (i prefer this option) I didnt say every pvper was. Alot of assholes are attracted to those and you my friend seem like one of those "I OWNED YOU BTCH" type of people. TBH I love pvp games though the experience can be ruined by some idiot corpse humping you and blurting childish extremities. |

Though I kinda hafta agree with the grief issue.. in open pvp you definately attract a "tough" crowd... or wannabe tough crowd. Needless to say u'll find those type of idiots in any big online game. |

In a game of skill the death penalty should be high but in a game of number crunching.. strictly gear nad levels the death penalty makes not much sense. I mean if you could get away from someone or fight off a mob or player much higher or geared then u then I can see a reason for a heavy death penalty because your just not skilled enough and should of not been playing with fire. When it comes to gaves like everquest.. lineage 2.. UO.. and whatever else you can name.. the power of the player is considered solely by his level.. gear and ability to spam skills making it extremely unfair. |
