Heh your OP looks like it could of been writen by me. Im in the same boat as you, I'm currtently tinkering around in a few games after Leaving FFXI. Only thing that has came close to FFXI for me is WoW, but playing WoW Hardcore = you just get burnt out with the content. I used to play Lineage 2 in beta, i really liked it. But after launch the game got really boring, you have to be someone who is willing to grind in the same area for days to hit up some lvls. Vanguard.. hmmm what can i say about Vanguard? I really really wanted to Love this game but i just couldnt, the theme i did indeed fall in lov with but the game is (was? I played final beta + 1st month of launch) just too buggy. I would like to go back to Vanguard in a month or so to see how its improved but by the look of it there might not be the player base to even make it worth while. LotR: Online I only played open beta, Played it for about less then an hour because i had alot going on so i couldnt play. I cant form much of an opinion about the game, but form what little i played it seemed "Ok" for lack of a better word. What i plan on doing is this: |

A very Well geared WAR can about out Damage anything melee wise, But thats the top of the range WARs not the average ones you seem to find on a day to day bases. Other then that a Good geared MNK, RNG or SAM can get high damage out put with the right sub / gear.

Hey,
not sure if this has been asked/answered before or if its even known yet but i was wondering, will the Servers in WAR be US/EU mixed? I'm really hoping they will be as i can play with some of my Old FFXI friends. Thanks. |

The 24h remark was about FFXI not Vanguard |

Thanks for the replys, I'll give the game a try Got the demo downloaded going to instill it once i go home. What Zappy said is alittle of a downer, i dont want to play another "Solo" to the highest level kind of game. I've had enough of WoW because its a MMO on easy mode, I want to be challenged not spoon fead all the way to the level cap. Well if i am happy with the game and wish to continue theres a Collection of most of the expansion packs for like 29$, would you recormend it? Thanks |

Neither, FFXI nowa days is'nt very noob friendly. Its a long road to lvl 75 in FFXI you feel good once you get there but unless your in the mood to camp 24h+ spawn Bosses there nothing left to do but merit ( level 75 EXP that you can spend to improve skills) or level another class. The best thing about FFXI is the people your playing with, Because the game is group only (unless your a beastmaster) you can make friends very quickly.
Ok i better run before all the Vanguard Fans behead me :( |

I Agree with the OP 100%.
I want to like this game so much, but i just can't. Yes maybe all the bugs will be ironed out in a month or so, but i don't buy a game to play it a month later. I know all MMO's are buggy on release, but this has to be the worst MMO i've played at release (Bug wise). I'm now looking for an MMO to hold my time and sadly this isnt the one, I myself and many others feel the same way and i might check it out a month or so down the line but i'm not paying one months fee just to see if they've made it into a playable game, im going to have to read a whole lot of forums. Theres only one other MMO that I kicked myself for buying and that was DDO. My quest continues to find a MMO worth playing. |

Hello guys, I'm looking for a new MMO (new to me anyways) and I've always wanted to play DaoC so im downloading the demo now. Got a few questions from experienced players.
- Is it noob friendly? Could i log on level up and take part in the group content at lower levels? - How long does the game have left? Is it dieing, Dead or still popular as ever? - Whats expansion packs are a MUST have? If i like the game and wanted to buy it after the demo what expansions do i really need? Thanks! |

I thought that the EU servers were up at 8pm GMT?
Thats what i read on Dlgamer.com www.dlgamer.com/buy-preorder-vanguard-saga-of-heroes-english-version-download-p-313.html " 3 Days Headstart Access which will start on the 26 of January at 10 am PST (8:00 PM GMT)." Thats a quote from DLGAMER.com, Do they have it correct or what? |

Thanks guys, But again i have yet another Question! (Dont hurt me) If i were to buy and download the game through Sony or Direct2Drive and use that CD-Key, will i still have the option to roll on a EU server or is that CD-Key fixed to the US servers like some games. Im thinking that its prolly the same as EQ2 were you pick which version you want when you log on. Thanks. |

Thanks for the reply mate, some other questions poped up while i was reading your reply. 1. Why so few EU servers? Are they not expection a big EU turn out at launch? Or are the servers capable of holding alot of players that there isnt simply a need for more? Or can EU players play on US servers and they think that all EU players will roll on the US ones? 2. What are the effects of dieing in PvP? EXP lose? Items drop? Or nothing like WoW? Thanks again. :D |

I agree with most of the OP's points, The point that stands out the most and is so true is that WoW is breeding more and more arrogant people into the MMO scene. You only have to look on the WoW official forums to see the type of people that are being brought up on WoW. Dont get me wrong, WoW is one of the better MMO's out there, but i felt it was time to call it a day when i saw countless amounts of these people in every server i came across.
WoW will never get rid of these players that are giving it a growing bad name, I just hope that when WoW dies that these people dont flock to the next big MMO. I hope they just call it a day with MMO's and go back to playing the mindless peice's of crap they were before they started with MMO's. |
