Ok well think about it a little but recommend me the first hi-spec ftp that comes to mind when you want to have a blast with a friend. I know even that's probably asking a lot right now but me n my friend just got new pc's and we want something free to play.
I'm a regular extra on the show. I obviously can't say much about it but everything looks awesome so far.
Take a break from gaming. Maybe when you get back things will be better, but I doubt it.

There was a great one back at my elementary school, thing was huge and I found a yin yang in there one time.

If you're over 5 years old I wouldn't recommend it though, the community is a bit immature.

Yes because subbed games never have bugs that break quest

Exactly right my friend, exactly right.

People don't even put effort into their lies anymore, such a lazy era we're in.

Originally posted by SkullyWoods I also suspect there will be more people like you. That being people who rush through the game without taking the time to enjoy the experience. If you swallow a strawberry in one gulp, you'll never know how sweet it is...and you'll probably choke to death. My guess is that for some reason you feel that the best stuff is always in the "end-game" so you rush to get there all the time. Anybody could have told you that gw2 is not that type of game, and this point has been made clear many a time.  Anyway, you seem very much like the WoW type, perhaps you should stick to that game for the rest of the duration of your gaming life instead of learning to enjoy new experiences.

GW2 is totally a "rush to the end" type of game. It's pretty much the same as WoW. All you do is busy work for NPCs until you hit max. The only difference is that GW2 stops there. The DEs are quite overrated. Admittedly, they are better than regular quests, but not so much better that it makes it worth it, considering how much harder they are to make, and how much longer they take. It's going to be a long, long time before you see any more content for that game. GW2 still has the carrot that you chase, it's just not a very good one. You get gear that doesn't make you any better, but you're still supposed to grind for it. It's funny how people have delusioned themselves into thinking that it's totally different.

I'll go ahead and humor you one more time.

First of all, NO GAME is a rush to the end type of game, especially not rpg's. Rpg's are specifically made for immersion and dev's go to great lengths to give you an immersive world. I haven't even played gw2 yet and I can already see from the coverage that this is one of the most immersive games available right now. I believe Anet's goal was largely to combat the mentality that you have which is that the fun factor should come from getting the biggest and best stuff and having the strongest character.

You're complaining about grinding for weapons that don't give an advantage because you are too used to that being the focus of your game experience whereas Anet is trying to take their game in a different direction. Nobody is delusioned about this game's innovation, you are simply too stuck in the same mmo game style to realise a new way to play. If anyone is delusioned it's you for believing all mmo's should follow a set pattern instead of breaking away to give players an original experience.

After hearing what they did, I got a refund. The game wasn't all that fun, anyway. I didn't really seem myself playing it, and I don't like to support bad business like that.

Oh that's why you got a refund? Could've swore I just finished reading about how you got to 80 in a week, now you're bored so it's back to WoW. If you're going to spread negativity, make up your mind about your trash talk and stick to it.

I feel so cheap

Sorry to hear that. My curry chicken was pretty good. Better luck tomorrow.

I didn't really get the information I was looking for, but you answered my questions pretty well, so that means I need to ask better questions.

How does your friend feel about graphics settings?  Does he want the highest graphics settings he can get on that budget?  Or does he not mind turning graphics settings down, so long as the game runs pretty well?  Would he prefer a laptop that can play Skyrim (and pretty much any future games) pretty well on moderate but not high settings, if it only costs him half of his budget?

Where is he going to buy the laptop?  Is he going to buy it in the US?  Does it need to be prebuilt, or could he get something built to order and shipped to him?

How does your friend feel about monitor size and resolution?  Does he want 1920x1080, or is he fine with 1366x768?  Is more inches better, since that's nicer for actual use?  Or is fewer inches better, since that's easier to carry around?  Or does he not care about size?

How much storage space does he need?  Is a ~120 GB SSD enough?  How about a ~240 GB SSD?  Or does he definitely need a hard drive?

A $1500 budget basically means that a genuinely high end gaming laptop is out of the question.  I see three basic possibilities:

1)  Get a Clevo P150EM/170EM with an Ivy Bridge quad core together with a GeForce GTX 670M or 675M.  This will be the best gaming performance you can get on his budget, but it will use pretty much the whole budget.  The video card will also use a ton of power, which is bad for actually typing on the laptop while it's in use.

2)  Get something a little thinner and lighter with an Ivy Bridge quad core and a GeForce GTX 660M.  This will free up budget space for an SSD, and the laptop will run a lot cooler.  He'll still need to plug the laptop in in order to play games, though.

3)  Save a lot of money and grab an AMD Trinity-based laptop.  HP offers a Trinity quad core together with a Radeon HD 7730 and a 7200 RPM hard drive for $675.  It will also make it possible to play games on the battery, rather than only when the laptop is plugged in.  For an extra $150, he can get a 1920x1080 matte monitor on it, too.  Other than the low power consumption, this won't be as nice of a laptop in any way as option #2, but it's also half the price and will run Skyrim well on moderate settings, so I figured I'd list it.

If it isn't too much trouble could you track down a few models and link them to me. I'm going to simply refer my friend to this thread so he can make an informed decision.

What he should get depends very strongly on what he's going to do with it.  For starters, why does it need to be a laptop instead of a desktop?  Gaming laptops only make sense for people who want to take it somewhere and play games away from home.  If you need a laptop and also need a gaming machine, but aren't going to often play demanding games away from home, then on a $1500 budget, you're far better off getting both a cheap laptop and a gaming desktop.

Is it only for gaming, or will it mostly be used for other stuff and only occasionally gaming?  Does the battery life matter?  Is he going to carry it around a lot, or mostly just stash it in luggage and pull it out in a hotel room?

He lives in the Caribbean but goes to college abroad, and often travels inbetween so he needs it to be a laptop. It will be used mostly for gaming and schoolwork, but mainly gaming. He's doesn't know too much about hardware so he wants to make a simple purchase, preferrably without having to make any custom changes.

I recommended the MSI GT series as well but I think he's trying to save as much money as possible. What would you have to say about the laptop he is looking at now?  (Posted above)

I need a quick consultation for my friend. He's looking to buy a gaming laptop. He won't go any higher than $1500 and he'd prefer to get something for around $1200. This is the machine he's currently checking out. His litmus question is of course "Can it run Skyrim?"

I know he'll have this laptop for a while and I'd like to suggest he get something that will take him a little further into the gaming future than Skyrim, so I'd like to know what his longevity will be with this machine. Thanks in advance.

Here's the model and specs.

Pick a guild according to your play style. You know, like whether you play casually or more 'hardcore', things like that.

If you play more casually, you might just want a guild that will have a small community to keep you company while you play.

If you play more 'hardcore' you'll probably want a larger community with a lot of dedicated players to help speed up your productivity in the game.

That's always been the biggest consideration for me.

Also then you can ween out other little things.

You never really know what the people will be like until you join so look out for little clues in guild names and whatnot for things like racism, immaturity and whatever else you may be weary of.

Having a functional guild site is always a good sign.

Hmmm... girlfriend you say...
