Elder Scrolls Online would have a very huge following off the bat and I think it would definitely be a welcomed change - a step forward in MMORPG's.  I'd love to see it happen - it's something people have been wanting since 'first generation' MMORPG's were popping up.

That is a pretty hefty loss there - I wonder what that means for the future of Sony consoles.  Apparently they aren't looking to replace the PS3 for at least a decade and hope to outshine the XBOX 360 over that period somehow.

Personally, I'll stick to PC's.  Anything less is just that

That's CRYPTIC, not BioWare so... I'm not sure how you're trying to tie BioWare to STO... this thread is still the silent heavyweight holder of the 'secret' BioWare MMORPG.... which won't be STO.

I actually just saw that haha but thank you guys for the replies.  My friends and I had such immense hope for this game and I'm very glad it's not dead but we could all tell that if this game would survive, it would need a lot of work put into it and thus we held off... at this point I'd need to be 'reeled' back in by the game somehow so perhaps a Trial Island if it does come out this summer will be the answer.  AoC, while not nearly as broken as Vanguard was at lauch is just very LACKING for a 'new gen mmorpg' in it's current state and thus I call it a diamond in the rough.  If they 'stole' all of vanguards awesome features, it would be incredible... but we shall see how it all works out.

If the BioWare rumors are true and their MMORPG won't launch until 2010-11 then I definately want to find myself a new home for at least a few years and Vanguard looks promising now... though my distaste for SoE still lingers :\ but hey, if they've been doing so well reviving the game I can't take that credit from them!

Well the BioWare Austin studio is working on it's MYSTERY MMORPG.... but who's to say even if this first game they develop isn't Mass Effect Online, we wouldn't eventually see a MEO eventually from the studio.  My personal hope is that unless they create the single most incredible MMORPG ever and have the studio focus on that one game for many many years to come, that they do a 'BioWare MMORPG Pass' allowing you to play in several of their MMORPG much like the SOE Station Pass.

IF Vanguard is in great playable shape, I would love if SOE would throw a little money towards a relaunch and re-introduction of the game to the public with all it's current features.  Perhaps a 2 minute long badass trailer would help generate a lot of buzz... but right now, I don't have a trial for the game and I honestly don't know if it's worth a shot.

Anyone know if I can take my character from a PvE server and switch to a PvP one if I so choose?  I think with games that have large server lists, it's always a good idea to allow server switching to players because most players want to play together with friends and if friends aren't all on the same server for some reason, it sucks that some have to reroll.

Yeah to be honest I kind of stopped updating it on purpose because everything is just such a minor 'rumor' ... the next post I wanted to put in this thread, I wanted to be 100% FACT rather than any % rumor but whether it's a contractual issue or whatever, they're really not saying anything... E3 maybe... :\ but as I said elsewhere I know for a fact BioWare will be concentrating on pushing Dragon Age next.  Maybe around christmas we'll get something lol.

Either way, I really hope they release something at E3 ... not far now... though I know for a fact they're trying to get Dragon Age out next - finally!

I'll be honest I don't know what the creature on the right is, but the creature on the left looks like a Gammorean from Star Wars doesn't it?  The guy from the blog does confirm the MMORPG to be the BioWare/LucasArts joint project.

Pretty good news for Sci-Fi/Star Trek  fans.  The franchise could use a good game, and I really think where the last MMORPG was headed was RUBBISH compared to what an MMORPG based on Star Trek should be like.  Thankfully Cryptic isn't a horrible studio at all so all the best luck as they try to breathe some life into this IP.
