I believe this will be a chance for the game to get alot of its lost players back. The only thing i hope for is that they do not split up the expansion again. Meaning with a instance cluster being added later on. As i feel like i am paying sub fee, to this game for getting zero new content. That was already promised to us (theplayer) with the Rohan expansion. 

Before someone says something about the PVP: Stop believing you will get a new pvp zone, just enjoy what you have ^^

Running a company ain't simple and i know that. But you have to consider the following.

Kickstarter -> people invest

Subs -> people pay to play the game; 

These two elements can be in your favor but could easly backfire on you.  People will use this against you if you do not update the game fast enough. If you really want people to back the kickstarter and play your game. then read the following:

Subs are a good way of getting money, but going B2P would greatly increase your playerbase. If you do it smart and dev. the ingame store you can easly earn money alot faster. Sell costimic gear or even sell currency.

You have to realize that for alot of people games are about having fun and part of that fun for many people is having a good looking char. No better way to get that by sometimes spending that dollar in the store.  

Sub fee then is funny , people these days are happy to pay, but expect alot ! don't live up to it and they leave, the smallest thing can let them unsub. While with a B2P people tend to go back faster when something new comes out because people just want to try and play. People don't always want to waste 10-15 euro's or dollars or pounds to just check something new out and get dissapointed.

This is not meant to have a argument with you, just giving you my view on games these days and  the way the run.

To be honest , i was intrested in the game until the following. I was happy to invest but having to pay Sub still just doesn't do it for me. I would be ashamed as a dev. To ask money to make a game and then ask monthly fee + like people have said not even a lifetime in it for giving 500 dollars for example. 

edit: whats the point for having more then one copy ?? give people atleast game time for it.

Well i am personnaly just playing GW2 as i am waiting for ESO.  Looks to me ESO will be a nice game. But yet much has to be  seen of course.

If you want to play a game while waiting Rift and WoW are both nice games. But if i were you i would just go for a B2P game that way you save some money as ESO is for the end of this year.

Secret world, guild wars 2, defiance, ...  are all buy to play mmo's and tbh good fun to spend some time in. If you want to some practice for ESO, i don't think guild wars 2 would be bad. But like i said the three games i mentioned are all good fun ^^

Its a MMOFPS you could say,  i don't know all the details of it. But if you really want to know go check out the website. As you said nobody plays gw2 anymore :p but funny enough i'm still playing it so :p you are kinda wrong on that one :D 

I do know Defaince is going for a Buy to play option, just like gw2 but i believe Defaince will be selling dlc's (abit like DC universe you can say) But in the end it is Buy to play and for not having to pay  a sub fee, people can't really complain. I think if you enjoy planetside 2 and are wasting money on subs , go play defaince or get yourself a beta key from on this website.

Well my point of view comes from the ettens. 

Pve wise oh well i guess that is something everyone will have a different opinion about. PvP wise everyone will agree that the Store brands if still ingame are Pay To Win.

to be honest most people will say its not, but lets face it. Lotro isn't a F2P game its a freemium. I would say that its pay to win or atleast close to it. Do not expect a store with just cos. stuff in it. you can buy potions, brands, ... in it.

If you consider pvping it is pay to win  for sure. thats what i find. 

But i would say try it out for free and check the store out, yes you can buy deeds, and scrolls to increase your stats, ... but the game still offers something nice if you are planning  to lvl from 1-85. the End game atm is not that great i heard.

the system looks nice tbh, i think if they would have went for the old fashion combat (WoW combat) alot of people wouldn't have played this. they really are doing a good job imo so far keeping elder scrolls into this MMO ( i mean the feeling)

i do lol at people saying Lotro is on par with PS2, Lotro is not even close to beeing a free to play game. its a free"mium" as the OP used in his title, it lets you play and then it throws the cash store in your face. ( not saying its a bad game )  but people have to know the difference between free to play and a freemium.

Ps2 , lineage2, aion are imo great free to plays , lets face it who wouldn't  like to play free games ? free mium games aren't bad they are useing a different model, but i think that it should be illigal that companies like turbine, bioware, ... say their game is free to play. I played lotro for a long time, ( from launch) in my eyes lotro ripps people off. but thats each their opinion on it.
