All their window dressing won't change the fact that Emmert and company screwed the game and the players royally. If SWG hadn't been a bigger screw job, everyone would be talking about what a jack-off company Cryptic is.

Face it: CoX is a waste of money. It was cool once, but Cryptic nerfed it to death and now they want to claim subs are up? I revisit once a year to see why I'm glad I left, and as someone else alluded to, most of the servers are dead as doornails.

The sooner this pile of crap get shovelled to the gutter, the better.

Wow. Your not bitter are you?

Not sure what made you so mad, but the travel power "nerfs" were not that big of a deal. As for Ed, yeah it sucked, for the people who only what to play the "Ub3r 1337" characters. For the normal gamers who want to play a game that they find fun and enjoyable it didn't have any effect at all.

If it's not the game for you then fine, but posting the things you just did is petty and immature.

Ahh my bad. But, in my defense, no where did the OP say these forums.

Ummmm the forums actually are the same, just different skins. If you pull them up side by side you will see the same posts in both of them. Nothing is different in the forums.

Virtue is also doing quite well. in fact Freedom and Virtue always have more traffic then any other servers. I admit some of them are kind of empty, but most have a good population.

LOL. I don't know why people keep saying this. The number of subscriptions have gone up in the last year. For a niche game its still doing pretty good.

Exactly what server is your personal experience on Java?

The invasions will not go away completely. Everytime some completes the Lady Grey Task Force in the Rikti War Zone it will trigger an invasion in a random zone. So, it will take longer to get the invasion badges, but they will still be available.

The Vanguard costume in bought using merits, which are awarded after you become a member of Vanguard. Then, anytime you fight Rikti, you get the merits. Since the RWZ is now a permanent zone, you have all the time you need to get the merits for the costume.

THe closest you chould get to Thor would be Electric Melee/invulnerable Brute.

That would be on the villian side  though and no hammer. Closest on hero side would be storm/electric defender or /electric blaster player as a blapper (scrapper/blaster).

One thing you should consider though, the players in CoH are not the Thor and Superman of the comic world. We fill more of the west Coast Avengers niche. Another thing to consider, though an homage character is cool, a clone will get genericed.

Lets be honest here.

If you know comics then its pretty simple.

You don't get to make a Superman or Thor in this game. Your toon in this game is basically a member of the West Coast Avengers. Not the first string power houses like Captain America or Namor, but together they can get the job done.

And just for the record, there are no heal-bots or 1337 H3ALZ0RS on my teams. If the defender just set heal aura on auto and expects a "good heals" from me, they get kicked.

The defenders entire seconday powerset is blasts. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out they can do damage.

There is another way to figure who gets xp and who doesn't. Not sure of the specific number, but if you are more then 2.something levels from the average team level you also get no xp.

Powerleveling can also be done using what some call the level 42 trick, you bring in a level 42 and level 45s can lackey the lowbies for huge xp. The level 42 will get no xp though, due to being to far from the team average.

Besides, when the Death Knight comes out it will most likely be part of an exspansion. Which in WoW terms means........*drumroll*...... Another $49.95 to plop down at the store.

When the CoV Kheldians show up it will be in an Issue. Which in CoH/V terms means.......*drumroll*......... A fifteen minute patch download.

I don't care if the WoW ones do come out first, I won't have to basically buy CoV again to use my evil Kheld.

Vidiotmaps.com is also very good. You can link to them through Badgehunter.com. Just download the I10 map patch and all of the badge locations will be listed on your map.

I was wandering if City of Heroes/Villains are good games to get?  Does anybody know if its fun. I have been looking in to it for a while. I'm just wandering what you can do in it, and hows the character creation? Please get back to me on this.

I believe designing your character is the best part of this game... i also believe thats where the fun ends.

People say it becomes old fast, people say it doesn't. I have a feeling its one of them games you either LOVE or HATE.

You could always just give it a try...

Have you actually played the game or are you just going by what people have posted about it?

CoH/V is a lot of fun. Even though most people think its just the same thing over and over  I still find it fun after nearly 2 years of play. There are so many choices in costume design that you will never see another character just like yours. The best way to enjoy it is to find a group of people you enjoy playing with, not just people who are the uberest players, people who share your interests. If you do that you will get a lot more enjoyment out of the game.

Yeah, thats one persons version. The majority of players seem to be enjoying it. I know I love the new Rikti look and the new Vanguard group.

And don't even complain about lag during invasions. You can do invasions just fine, with no lag, if you..........*drum roll*....... DON'T BUNCH UP!!! I swear every time a invasion is announced every player goes to the same spot. Any time you get 90-100 toons in one spot its gonna lag. Then add powers and NPCs?? Think about it people

Most people will disagree, but I have to suggest City of Heroes/Villians. I've been playing for nearly 2 years now and it is still fun.I am personally not interested in a game that I have to grind to lvl XX for it to be really fun or must be max level to play it the way its meant to be played. You start a character on CoH/V and you get into the story from the first xp to the last. Sure there may ne be much for max level toons to do, but there is no way that  you did every story arc and every contact on one character.

People paying for virtual sex.

Sick......to some maybe.

Disturbing.....see above.

Sad???????? Most definately.

Paying for sex is one thing, but paying for virtual sex? Go out of your house and meet someone of the opposite sex  already. Try clubs, festivals, public Bar-B-Qs, or even a church.

Why doesn't world of warcraft or star wars galaxies or lord of the rings online have a hardcore server? A server for intelligent players who want a world of free will.  Kill any player anytime and take all loot.  Basically a world that is chaotic in which the players must bring order.  What is so wrong with this?  Why do us skilled players have to be discriminated against just because we choose to "Think" when we play mmorpgs.   Most carebears turn their brain completely off and if that is how you want to play your game so be it. But why do we the hardcore players have to suffer? I'm not talking about grinding 32454 hours a day to make a character. I'm talking about a world where there is a constant tension, where you are always watching your back, worried that some player is going to jack you. Or that an enemy guild is waiting to ambush you.

What is so wrong with the element of surprise?  World of "WAR"craft is not war when you can't even ambush enemy players with that big red name tag over their head.

I want to think when I play games and risk losing something in order to gain something more.  Why can't you people handle that? What is wrong with you.    I guess not everyone can handle a little competition right? Because you have to compete in real life right? I"m just curious that is all. I compete in real life too but that is the nature of things.  I got bored of world of warcraft after 3 months.  But I played ultima online for 4 years because every time I logged on something spontaneous and new would happen that was DYNAMIC to the players.   4 years I played that game and there wasn't a single stupid quest that forced me to collect 10 feathers for 500 experience.

Why do you people enjoy collecting 10 feathers for 500 experience? WTF is wrong with you lol.  I prefer hunting down an enemy player that slaughtered my guildmates.  I prefer killing a known villain who has a bunch of gold and loot on him, and then when I kill him I take all his loot.  I prefer storming an enemy guildhouse, breaking in through their front line defense and if I kill them all I can loot their entire guild house of all their riches.  That is fun.  You new generation of mmorpg'ers have never experienced a REAL mmorpg.  That is the problem.

PVPKing

You make me laugh, with your tough talk about risking it all and your lame excuse for skill.

You are still young enough to get in the U.S. Armed Forces, volunteer for an overseas deployment, then you can say you are tough, then you can say you have skills, then you can say you are risking it all.

But until that time (which is doubtful will ever come) shut your pie hole.

Note: If you are a military veteran that's been on a deployment in a combat zone I retract my post, but if you aren't, it stands.

Amen to that.

Ok lets be honset here. Just because there have been more then one post about this in one day does not mean there is a huge majority of people who want "hardcore" servers with no rules. More likely one person posted and two others thought "If I post it as well they might take it seriously." I also doubt that there are enough "hardcore" players to make it worth the extra coding and maintenance that the developers and publishers would have to do. Lets be realistic here. You want a server or game that will only be enjoyed by a minority of people or you want a server on an existing game that has a completely different ruleset then the others.

And really people, think about it. How many times would you be willing get killed and have everything you worked to get in the game taken away by someone in a guild that has a better powerleveling program then yours? I'm guessing even the most "hardcore" players will be tired of it after 2 or 3 times.

Innovative yes.  But i think what kill the game is the lack of content.  Ncsoft should blame themself for the failure.

NCSoft just published and did the customer service for the game. The poor graphics, poor controls, and mind numbing missions would be the developers fault. Of course I read in here that the devs for AA blame NCSoft for all of that. Sounds to me like a developer bit off more then they could chew and should have spent a little bit more time working on the game before telling their publisher "It will be ready on XX date."

Actually -stealth was added for when you are escorting an NPC out of a map. Because if you are stealthed the NPC can't see you to follow you. You might want to reread the 30 hour thing, because that just doen't sound right.

Its listed under your poweris after you make a character. Every character you make on that account will have it.
