its stressful for PvE yeah, not that enjoyable expcet maybe running a some jumping puzzles.  But for WvW and sPvP is not bad.  Other than the crashing and disconnects of course.

Yea I am waiting , didnt get the game till the last "open" beta was done and, ugh dont want to play the game for the first time in stress, or I use that as an excuse for the fact that I wasnt able to play even if I wanted to :P

Also trying not to read too much about the game, watch a gazillion gameplay videos so I recognize all the starting areas before I even start.

I feel unfortunately this is already gonna be an issue... How has GW2 already affected your work? Here is evidence of my work issues. Drawing pointless mediocre art for no apperant reason cause i cant stop thinking about Guild Wars 2

EDIT: It is getting worse, luckily for me, work is slow at the moment or else I would get boss aggro, and this is just advice for techy people, dont try fixing toasters if you dunno how, pretty sure you will blow up or something, I would.

As a girl, I can only say that I think the only wrong thing about this is "sexy girls" has to be compared to prostitutes?? Many girls like to dress sexy, look at halloween. We generally like to look pretty, not always for men but for ourselves and other girls.. take this comment for example "omg where did you buy that dress? I love it!" <- yay :D

In the games I often go for the clothes that look prettiest, sometimes their "skimpy" sometimes they are a full robe, all depending on design.

This games really have hot male characters too from what I can see :D

This is the first mmorpg that I have wanted to read every single bit of text that I find. Look at the enviroment and see if I can find something hidden, explore without having a set destination.. sure, many games let you do these things I just mentioned but there is generally no purpose "oh no someone smashed your pumpkins, let me guess, you want me to kill the zombies standing right on top of your pumpkins? fascinating Mirabel"

There is no big questhubs to speak of cause they want you to get invested in each and every single quest you find, to take your time and think about it. I have spent forever in just the first area, ive even went to the areas homepage and learned things that tie in what i experience in the game. I've googled what npcs tell me to look up and actually found what they meant.

I'm in it for the immersion and to have fun, like any person that plays a game, its not that strange really. :)

I experienced a perfect launch, then again it could be because of how few hours I spent each day playing, real life stuff.. always getting in my way :( But I didnt have to deal with any frustration, enjoyed my playtime, no super annoying bugs.. all good here :D

Great review, feel the exact same way about GW2 release :P There will come a time, when ill be very torn about what to play.. You feel about same way I did about the game!

If you are unwilling to research a game before you buy it, then too bad. Many people have already complained about same things you just did, so seriously.. your own fault :(

But thats the problem, a lot of feedback IS objective, then what will they focus on, their idea of their perfect game or the majority of what a perfect game is, problem is also that there is a small percentage of gamers who actually go to a forum to complain, which one should they listen to? the ones in game happily playing or some gamers that seemingly complain about the entire part of the game idea?

Now I understand about gamebreaking things, like if there is a quest chain being utterly useless they force you to do. Or instance isnt possible to go through. Or the fact that warriors isnt possible to queue as tank, things worth discussing in a smart way, not "I cant queue as tank! "random game" is better, i wasted money, i want my money back (ENTER RAGEQUIT!)" ok extreme example, hope you get it.

I am truly looking forward to the subscription costs kicking in. I know in mmo-space there is not a lot to play. The market is saturated and it is very hard for us consumerism gamers to focus on 1 game. They just cannot hold our attention, or maybe are game is just not yet released.

It feels like Tera has gathered a lot of these stray dogs (as i am usually) and it seems to be hurting the outlook of this game. Sometimes in the form of these forums. Sometimes in the form of in game trolls. (No i certainly do not think this is new to Tera and realize it happens in every game, as is the evolution of a new game)

The tight knit community in Tera (personally for me celestial hills server) will be the ones left playing soon and for this I am truly excited. I seek the comradery of the TRUE TERA LOVER! The tank who is obsessed with getting that Tier 13 set to +12 and who wants to try and pull 5 level 60 BAMs at once to stare danger in the face and say I TOLD YOU I COULD DO THAT YO!!!!

You're really happy wuth the pve? It couldn't be more generic if it tried. You use exactly the same techniques to kill every single mob. There's no reason to vary what you do once you work out the most efficient rotation.

The dungeons are exactly the same. Tank gathers up aggro, healer heals from the back and dps faceroll mobs. You just run from one room to the next.

I agree it's all very pretty, but it's pretty standard graphics for a korean mmo style.

I see you rerolled from playing a zerker. If you'd been such a fan of skill and challenge you would have stayed zerker. But you're probably playing a lancer now or sorc?

Armour styles and weapons? My slayers weapon hardly changed in appearance through the first 30 levels. It was ridiculous. I would pick up 'Ash ridden greatsword' (or whatever), and it was almost identicle to my 'Solar flare destroyer'. They may as well have named it Greatswords 1-100. They all looked the same! I was in the city and saw some level 60, and his greatsword looked almost as dull as my one. I didn't hold out much hope. Having one fixed weapon the entire game is a poor poor move. The armour seems to change a bit every 10 levels or something.

Don't worry though! to get a different looking weapon you can pay 10 bucks in the gameshop. Really? Why not put that shit in game.

The horrible horrible Pve grind, the limited weapon choices and the introduction of a cash shop so soon after release (which says ; Hey, we know we limited you to the same basic design the entire game, instead of introducing new weapon looks we're going to make you pay for them) kills the game for me. Also in Tera...levels>gear>skill and gear is the biggest grind of all.

 

 

It is interesting how people percieve the same game so differently. I have fun in combat still, started in closed beta, so it is just different opinions. Not saying it wouldnt be amazing to have different armorstyles everytime, but they would probably then be less of a difference and not as beautiful and well done. One or the other.. I choose a lot of work going into a EQ it will look like I wear for 10 lvls.

I really enjoy just playing, dont fuss over the details that much in the game im too busy.. but you know, different playstyles and interests, i understand you write this out of dissapointment. I hope you find a game that fit you better :) GW2 maybe? ^^

Great to see positive threads, I do not understand people who dislike the game to bother staying in the forum and write negative things for ages. Generally if I dont like something I dont bother to give it a time of day, but people are different , we just have to learn to ignore em ;) it may help them in some way, and obviously there is a lot of dissapointment there.. dissapointment that the game is not what they had hoped.
