Damn shame the way they ran this game into the ground.

I'd also be a little worried if these euro/dollars were currently deposited in an Icelandic bank!

WAR is the first game that I have played which has left me feeling that this is a game that can compete with WOW.

After only playing the beta for a day it has impressed me greatly. It has that hidden secret ingredient that wants you to play more

Well I really dont care what non-americans think about me. I am fine as I am dont need your opinions..

Frankly the title of this thread is quite misleading. Maybe state the game as failure in europe but not a blanket failure like he states. People in north america hasn't had a single issues and again since they are located 1000's miles from you cut them some slack. I hope one day some local european company can produce a good mmo for you but until than learn to be little bit patient.

Hmm I thought Games Workshop were based in England?

I have to say that I am very much looking to giving the beta a try after seeing some of the latest screen shots.

I just hope that the EU beta doesn't have any problems when they switch on the reg page tomorrow

They sure are leaving it late. I hope it isn't going to be a GOA screw up.

I miss AC2 tbh. If only they could have ironed out all the bugs instead of shelving it!

The most important part of a game is if it is fun or not. It doesn't matter that a graphics card can take more punishment or have better use made from it.

We do play games for fun right?

With 1983 graphics and game mechanics (2D scrolling maps).

Perhaps ... it IS true that all game designers and programmers left WOW in 2006 ....

The isometric viewpoint is iconic to the Diablo series. If they tried to remove that then they would get burnt quickly.

I personally prefer playing isometric games and am sick to the back teeth of having 3d candy forced down my throat.

I don't play the game but does it offer the option to use switch? Switch is handled the same so it should go through if that option is available.

bah, you're kidding yourself if you think a world will be larger than the barrens.

I find it amusing that with no visible pictures of action of the game or of people shooting guns that he proclaimes it "exactly like WoW'.  Umm, don't you think you SEE the game first???

When I said like WoW it was a reference to a small amount of unique zones/worlds instead of an assload of zones/worlds like Eve.

The game mechanics of Eve work differently so they are able to create a huge world. This isn't viable for a game like Stargate Worlds.

Eve to all intents and purposes has huge areas of nothing (with a pretty background image) which would be boring on a planet. Imagine running along a completly flat land with nothing but the occasional mob to fight (but with a pretty sky).

what a loss.  not.

good riddance to bad rubbish.

Did you ever play the game? If not the game was a good, fun game to play. It was the support from the developer that let the game down.

It's a great shame as it was a good game that never got the support it deserved from WeMade.

This is a very good game. i used to play the Euro version but I got fed up of GameNetwork who ran that version.

The US version is much better (although the population is a little lower) with active GM's. It is however starved of current updates which is the fault of WeMade Entertainment who are the game developers. A few more events wouldn't go amiss either but this still remains a very good game.

The game seems to have quite a nice following as far as I can see. The server seems fairly busy.

I won't be pre ordering a game from HMV again. I pre ordered Mario Galaxy a few months ago. I was happy to find that they had shipped the game to me. I noticed that they charged me £34.99 but were charging £32.99.

Even though it is only £2.00 I dropped them an email to point out the mistake and to ask for a £2.00 credit. My first 3 emails (yes 3) got confused canned responses about they cannot refund me my money as the game had shipped so they couldn't cancel the order?!? This started to annoy me but I thought one more email and I will forget it. I finally got a human response which informed me that i pay the price listed when pre-ordering and if you want to pay the latest price (which changed two weeks before release) then I should have cancelled my order and ordered the game again (and thus losing my place in the queue).

I know it was only £2.00 but they can forget me pre-ordering from them again. I hate rip off merchants.

Funcom are fully aware of what happens when you release early. AO was one of the most promising games in development and then Funcom release too early and within a few months the game had almost died.

I can't see them making that mistake again...

nah I think blu ray will be as dead as betamax in two years time

That is so sweet!

Those figures are way off. I read an article recently that quoted approx 330 million Europeans and 270 million North Americans connect to the internet.

Admittedly connecting to the internet and playing online games is different but those figures quoted by the OP are way off.
