I've been thinking of checking out EQ2 myself lately, I just worry about populations in these MMOs...I'd hate to start up one and find they are ghost towns.

Good community? WoW has the worst community of any MMO I've ever played.

Graphics? They are ok if you like that style I guess and a boat load of recolored armor.

Do all current CoH players get these codes to give their friends? Was thinking of checking it out again as I'm bored with the current choices out there.

My wife and I are looking for a game to play for a bit as we're growing tired of WoW. Would love an invite to test it out.

How about this one....current wife is a bit of a nag, always grumpy (yes even BEFORE CoH) and then you meet a great person in game...ah the complexity of life...

lol..... in CoH..... what are the chances of the 'person' you meet being a girl??? ::::18::

Actually, a fairly large portion of our SG is composed of females and yes they all use Teamspeak ;) I was hugely surprised at the number of girls playing CoH actually.

Many many thanks all - I'll check out that site and the info about hunters/priests in the late game is the kind of thing I am also interested in :)

We're both big time gamers so I fully expect to get up in to those higher levels so want to be useful as well to teams I am in ;)

I tried WoW out a couple months ago but didn't give it a fair chance and basically hated playing solo. My girl and I are going to be trying this again and it looks like we're going night elves on Elune.

However, there is a lot to consider when choosing a class. I'm curious if there is a decent breakdown of them somewhere (other than the WoW site which is horribly slow).

We will duo a lot and while we typically both play support roles I think we'll both want to be self sufficient.

#1) Is there any pvp in right now? even just duels or is it all being planned for CoV?

Currently there is no PvP in CoH but Issue 3 added construction sites around the city where arenas are being built. These will be PvP arenas to be introduced in Issue 4. So it will be here very soon.

#2) When is CoV planned or estimated release if there has been any about it yet?

Nobody really knows, I've heard June, September, November...like I said, nobody really knows :)

#3) If / or PvP does not exist what do you do once you level out your hero to max? Most games have little PvE content for high levels that is actually fun, but maybe this game is different :)

Well with my level 50 (empath/elec defender) I am currently helping out SG members, giving away influence, doing a couple task forces in Firebase Zulu and fighting arch villains. It is lacking a little at 50 IMHO but we're currently gearing up and planning for a Hamidon raid.

#4) Is PvE actually fun in this game? Like do monsters react with real AI not just /stick /attack to you like most mmorpgs?

Yes, it's what I think has kept me around ;) Issue 3 seemed to add more AI to the game but it could be just me. There are in mission ambushes, boses run to next groups of enemies seemingly to bring in reinforcements.

Alts, my friend, alts. The enormous variety of power combinations for characters is what keeps the game from becoming stale, at least to me.

I have several alts...but then you enter the grind again (the SAME grind you run into in most MMOs).. The lack of things to do makes it tough. We're entering the 30's and had a great time doing all of the TFs including the two on Striga but it was a bit of a crawl to 30 from about 26. Hopefully our themed SG will whip through to 45 a little quicker ;)

Not only that but running through the SAME missions and now in the nasty nasty Hollows is a bit much. Still love the game though !

Themed SG - small video of them in action

Wow, you think pretty highly of the Peacebringers and Warshades. Personally I am not impressed. Sure it's cool to have the nova form and attacks at level 6 but the Kheldians are still very very weak and if you run into a kheledian hunter look out!

We've been dragging a level 32 warshade with us on missions and he spends a lot of time in the tank like form and almost no time in his nova form. he dies...often.

I've been checking out the requirements as I'm pretty interested in this game. I'm a long time UO player and now fairly long time CoH player. I loved the fantasy aspects of UO and the skills and I love the fast pace of CoH but miss skills :)

EQ2 looks wonderful but I am a tad worried about the requirements. While it looks as though I fit in them I'm borderline. Am wondering if anyone else has played with a lower end system and how they have found the game

AMD 1.4 Athlon CPU
1GB DDR Ram
ATI Radeon 9600 128MB
80GB HD

I guess my biggest worry currently is the processor :) I've had a GB of ram for a fairly long time and have managed to avoid upgrading the CPU in almost three years now :)

8.3 because it's a great game.

One of the few MMOs where you can jump in and immediately start beating up thugs instead of small furry animals or blobs. The action starts right away and keeps up throughout the game. Sure it can turn into a grind later on but I don't think I've played an MMO that doesn't have a bit of a grind to it.

It removes the loot factor which has both good and bad weight to it (I miss loot to a certain extent) as the casual gamer won't need to worry about fi they have the proper armor or weapons to take part in battles.

So far my only real complaint is lack of variety (again same can be said for most MMOs) and now that I am at 50, I have a bit of a hard time staying interested :(
