They need revenue.  WoW double dips because it can.  Most other games double dip out of neccessity.

i think double dipping is paying a sub and having a shiny in your face pay to win button on your UI not some store with a silly mount or  a pet.  they actually have tangible goods that you can order too.  i dont see any TSW beach towels and T-shirts......

There's no pay to win in the TSW shop either.  All cosmetics and zero prompting to buy in-game.  I just love the double standard when it comes to WoW.

So, when you buy something from TSW store, is it bound to your account, meaning every single char you use or ever create benefits from it? No? Also how many times has FC actually donated all their profits to an actual benefit (sales of an actual promoted item)? Such as Blizz benefit for Hurricane Sandy victims? Not even a single time.

This is just FC bashing. We all know that their financial situation is far from good so maybe they just cannot afford donating. Also, I just expect to get a good service from them which they provide with actual GMs who are nice and helpful persons. Concerning CS I think it's absolutely optiona. One day I found 1200 points on my account as a bonus. Bought a dog, a title I have never used, a shirt maybe and some Chinese fireworks because I had some points left. In-game cloths are better imo and not a single feature is in CS.

Did not like Aoc much but playing TSW since headstart and still like the game a lot. I too think that FC is a good company, making good and innovative games. FC just lack resources.

Yeah, mmorpg.com has that small group of very vocal people who jump from game to game only to quit but stay on the game's forum to spew hatred. The WoW hatred is well alive, but so it the hatred against anything new... even more if it's not a sandbox game. So what if they read? They can see that there are people willing to pay for a top quality MMO. We have seen enough f2p, p2w and b2p games already and none of them has been anything worth remembering. I have always advocated sub fee because this keeps at least several sociopaths away, higher sub fee works as even better barrier. Of course the game must be good enough or it won't get any subscribers at all with a 30-40 bucks sub.

There's more than one possibility here. One, the server your on isn't actually full. Two, there aren't that many people in the level range you're in - they've maxed out their characters and are not rolling alts.

 

 

Isn't this the same excuses made by AOC players, Warhammer Players, TOR players etc etc... but in this case its true? 

All those games had population drops that were very visible. The servers went empty.

In GW2 the servers are not just stable, they are filling up, fast.

 

Now I hear Baghdad Bob speaking. Tried to play this game again few days ago after a pause. Mid level zones in my EU server were completely empty with maybe a few others if any.

Well this is entirely subjective. For me personally it's very mediocre but this is subjective again. Didn't get into WoW either and maybe GW can beat 8 year old WoW. Don't know because I cannot compare these two.

Wise words mr Zylaxx. I think I'd try and play PvE sandbox any time, given it's polished enough to play.
