You do realize that we are in a GW2 forum where someone is saying that, "TSW is by all counts a far greater product." He also says that the animations are "super bad." Perhaps you should be asking that guy why he insists on comparing the two and insulting one over the other. I don't know. I was just expressing my opinion about both combat systems.

 

Yes I realize that and as I said I play GW2 myself as well. So try to remain civil, this subforum does not belong to GW2 fanbois only. OP played the game and did not like it, he got his backlash.

Well some people hope to express their desire and stick around in the hopes that it might actually meet their desires for the game. Is that wrong? (remember, having a differnt opinion doesn't make someone a hater simply because you don't like the fact they have a different opinion from you!).

 

I may say why I dont like the game and but then I walk away. Taking over every thread where fans of the game are trying to talk about the game and turning everyone of them into a hate thread is where I am getting sick of it. If the game is that bad, then go find one you like. Many here have said very clearly, unless the game is remade from the ground up. They would not play it, yet they are here every day bashing in every thread.  

The discussion continues and so, funnily enough, people continue to discuss it. As for taking over every thread.....what was the point of this thread if you felt enough had already been said? Thats right, YOU are the problem too.

Im personally sick of the gear grind and happy with a MMO that focuses on teaming and fun over tones of heavy raid content that gets you fishing for new gear every 6-12 month. Games like GW2 and ESO are right what I am looking for. Something I can log on and play for 2-3 hours and skill matters over gear. Where I can get in any team even though I have shorter time to make my char uber like I did back in the day with EQ1 and WoW. DAoC was my first taste of that type of game play and I have been waiting for a game to do that again.

One has to ask, if you want games like EQ1, WOW, GW2 and DAOC....they are still out there, play them and stop whining on these boards about how people don't agree with you and so must be haters.

I think ESO can do that. As a fan of the game I would like at least one thread where the hate stays out and we can talk about the game. That has yet to happen here.

There is NO hate. Just you spouting the term in every thread simply because people have a different opinion then you do. As soon as you realise people can disagree with you, quite strongly, and a good discussion can take place reguardless the sooner you might realise that YOU are causing a problem because you cannot get it out of your head that someone who disagree's with you has just as valid an opinion and is not a hater by default because of that opposed view.

Well written answer. I'm not hater, I'm just afraid that this game can be yet another cash grab and ruination of a great IP. Hope it's not because I'd like to play an Elder Scrolls MMO.

Does it matter? Why can't someone just enjoy a game without trying to prove that all others are inadequate. You know you ARE allowed to like multiple games in the same genre -_-

 

Are there people on this site that probably gave TSW or GW2 a 0-2 out of 10? You betcha. These individuals have some personal issues, imo. They literally can not enjoy the games they like unless they "prove" that all other games suck.

 The game was so awesome that it almost put the company out of business......They had to fire half their employees and go through a fire sale jsut to stay in business.....Alot of people thought the game sucked.

You've been bashing TSW tirelessly for 10 months already. This kind of dedication deserves credit but maybe it's tim to move on?

If these reasons are why some of the "very happy" folks enjoying their multiplayer might as well go back and play Super Mario on Nintendo. I can call my friend and me and him can do some PvE and rescue the princess, while socializing together and compete by who will do it 1st with what kind of score.

I do hope I'll hear one replay from the very happy folks here about their multiplayer that actually explains and outweights the positive from the negative. I don't expect a perfect, AAA multiplayer, just good enough to be worth participating in.

In meantime I'll go back to Path of Exile and play it on hardcore.

Positive:

Perma death, fun character development, requires some trading and socializing skills to have successful business and deals. Decent graphics and combat, totally free to play, without any cash shop items that impact the gameplay or economy. Has some ladder and events going ocassionally.

Negative: themepark designed, it can become repetitive grind with very slow character progression, but there is still some progression. Death can be discouraging and harsh.

its nothing like DAOC

the only things it shares with daoc are equality of gear regardless of playstyle and 3 factions with some sort of semi persistent pvp area. (and the semi-persistent nature is GW2 not daoc)

A cursory look at its feature list revals it shares more things with wow, tsw, gw2 and swtor amongst others than it does with daoc.

 

I don't mind that RvRvR area and it can actually be fun. I just want to see enough TES in that game, including more freedom than in some MMOs you mentioned. Well, time will tell.

Btw, I'm sure I'll buy and play TESO. I'm just expressing my scepticism based on contradictory information we have so far.

The BASE game is built AROUND PvP.

Closed off faction lands with set races so as not to confuse people who the enemey are while funnelling ALL PvE to the CENTER PvP lands.

THE ENTIRE GAME IS BUILT AROUND THEIR PVP IDEA which is RvRvR.

There is no amount of spin you can put on it to make it NOT a PvP focused game with its current build...hell, even the games trailer is 100% about the 3 faction PvP!

Theres no amount of spin you can put on it to turn it into some frikin everquest clone where you can prance around showing off your latest raid set, while the crafting and pvp peasants run behind you eating your scraps.

DAOC is not a PVP focused game.  Its one of a handful of games that focus on PVE and PVP EQUALLY.

Darkfall, EvE, planetside, warhammer are pvp focused games

EQ, SWG, wow, swtor, rift, tsw, aoc, eq2, coh etc... are PVE focuses games.

Hopefully this game will at least copy one great feature from DAOC, being fair to ALL playstyles.

but i suspect TESO will be less PVP focused than DAOC.  Mainly because they have a bunch of publisher pressure going "be more like wow that sold 10 million", and like all MMOs in beta it is currently getting a lot of squeckiest wheel that gets the oil whine from the hardcore PVE people who infest every MMO beta and turn the games towards the worse. probably end up a 75% PVE / 25% PVP game

Really? I've mostly seen so-called PvPers whining about balance and the colour of the carrot they are running after. And people talking about Daoc in every single TESO thread itself shows how little that game is about TES. Probably just a skin to get enough cash from initial sales. Hope it's not though.
